  • The correct carburetor parts showed up so I rebuild it again. I'm house sitting 2 cats and a dog in this video. Rescue a drowning lizard. Samurai won't start. Accelerator pump springs massive leak, High-Tack fixes it.

      Thanks, yeah that was good timing. I don't know how long they can hold their breath or how long he was in there. Lil dude wasn't even trying to swim.

    No leaking, no clogged passages, everything free and moving. It's not for nothing, now you know the carb is working as it should! ...at least until you leave ethanol fuel in it for more that 15 seconds.😞 Thanks for the video, I'm enjoying the progress!

      Lol, ain't that the truth. It was dieseling yesterday (not shutting off with the ignition right away). I think I may have put some lousy fuel in it the other day. I'm still fiddling with this damn carb, but youre right, at least I know what isn't the problem lol. Thanks man.

    Fun fact … To my knowledge, oil dipstick from low level to high level is always one quart or one liter of oil.

      Yup that's what I've always seen it say in the manuals.

    That lizard looks like someone's house pet.

      I call em Scalers or Scalies cuz that's what my dad calls em but I think their technical name is Desert Spiny Lizards. They're all over here.

    6:50 yes just a vent, will leak oil/fuel when a diaphragm goes bad

      Right on, thank you. I was really wondering what that was. Curious how it would leak oil?

    Engine not running smoothly after new part in the carburetor … Remember what Murphys Law teach us - If it works don’t fix it.

      Exactly. After driving home, removing carb, driving to place I'm house sitting, tearing it down, replacing parts, reassembly, drive home again, reinstall, just to find out it doesn't run and I need to put the old parts back in. Never fails. Oh and then the accelerator pump started leaking again, and I never even touched it. That High-Tack did a decent job sealing the gasket but it's coming out where the vertical lever is, meaning fuel is getting past the diaphragm to the other side where there shouldn't be any fuel. Not sure what to think about a brand new accelerator pump going bad in a week. Either sh!tty parts or my good luck.

    carb rrbuild need to be adjusted . It's not plug and play

    • @FixLife119
      @FixLife119  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, I've adjusted it, it's pretty simple on these Webers. You just set the mixture then the idle speed. I had a screwdriver in the choke linkage holding it open when I did that. Until I swapped the orig power valves back in it wouldn't even run to adjust it. Seems to be ok now. Still doesn't idle smooth how I'd like but that could be a bunch of different things.

      Lol, yup, guess that's how it goes for us DIYers. Ya that cat doesn't like anyone but the owners, and sometimes she even does that to them. Cats usually either suck or they're great. Dogs are way more predictable lol.
