Thanks brother , much appreciated....Your vids got me motivated to start this channel up again. My next vid is gonna be on a $25 knife that in my opinion is an excellent choice for newbies, but also folks living on fixed incomes. It's an awesome scandi blade but also has a really great handle. People need good deals these days, and unfortunately, USA brands have shot up big time. Honestly even those with a bunch of higher end blades will probably want one . I know that feeling, wanting a cool knife, but having it financially out of reach just sucks. I hope it will give some knife junkies an affordable option to get outside and make some feathersticks 😁 I gotta do some testing and make sure the steel performs like it should though before I go and tell folks to get one. Cheers 🍻 brother chat ya later ....and thanks for the support.
It's a unique knife, I have been using it as my EDC. The sheath looks great on the belt and doesn't stand out. It's definitely that kind of fixed blade that will build up character over time . Tops can make cool bushcraft blades, but they don't do it enough, in my opinion.
😆 🤣 TRUE 👍 They need to get something going on the Bushcraft market. Bringing out a knife every few years thats made to look crafty yet isn't is losing me. Plus I was rather annoyed after buying the knife and seeing that edge. Kinda let down by 99%of reviewers on this one. The edge SUCKS out of box just like my Benchmade Bushcrafter which also SUCKED even more. I have one Tops that I want ...the Dragonfly 4.5 after that I'm done buying Tops knives, unless they make big changes.
Hey, great video. Well done. I have the Tops puukko and almost bought the Condor one yesterday, but I got something else instead. But I'll get it one day... maybe. I guess I'm not really sold on Condor. I have their bushlore from years back. It's ok I guess, but their knives mostly seem kinda like watching a B movie to me - it's ok, but it's not a blockbuster. I'm probably spoiled and a complete knife snob. I change my edges a bit too, when they don't work for me. The Taminboca seemed ok to me, but I've also stropped it some. Thanks for posting this comparison. 👍🏻
Same here, I do think it could still handle small kindling just fine . It's such a better knife without that V edge. Most reviewers are basically using a pocket knife grind. Calling it a scandi puukko with that stock grind is funny to me. But , with a new edge its a legit blade , I really like mine now. Thanks for the view, comment and sub 👍
Would you do some sharpening videos? That mirror edge is impressive brate (brother in Serbian since we are talking about a Serbian maker ahah). Have a nice day
@airiksknifereviews9548 will definitely need a good reprofilling to get its like yours though. Has a pretty steep 20° secondary and obtuse tip, but a little time on a course stone can fix it up nicely
@shawnpepin7890 I looked at those blades , they have a bunch of cool looking designs . Thanks for sharing... I just decide to reprofile my Brakimo, I've used it for 4 years and I'm bored of the grind. I know it can be better so I'm fully taking it to zero and will strop in a microVex. Thay blade is just to thick but the grind is perfect to work on. I have hurt thumb right now so I'm taking a small break from it .
@airiksknifereviews9548 thick blades are definitely not my favorite trend in outdoor knives... when I'm carving spoons, I'll reach for my standard mora companion more than most because if it's nice thin blade stock, although they are quite a bit easier to damage and chip the tiny tip, I really like 2-2.7 mm stock for wood carving
My mic sucks on my phone , it's literally right next to my mouth . Android devices won't allow 3rd party mics only for phone use , it's ridiculous . I have ear bud mics but it won't allow them in video mode. Also I have an issue with my throat so sorry man I do my best. Some vids are better than others for me depending on how well my voice box is that day.
They are designed by Joe Flowers, but they are manufactured by their respective companies. You mentioned in the first couple minutes that he made them. Just clarifying.
Actually his name is Goran Mihajlovic, he designed the Tanimboca Puukko and Condor Trivitatta Puukko. Joe Flowers does his Bushcraft Global survival training down in South America where Goran Mihajlovic lives. The guy makes really awesome custom blades so Tops had him make one for their brand. I'm guessing Joe helped him get his foot in the door.
I do a lot of wood carving and bushcrafting and that looks like a nice one! Thanks for the look!
You're killing it man! Drooling over your edges. Great job!

@@airiksknifereviews9548 Appreciate it! I'm all about the affordables. Can't wait to see what it is.
That’s a beautiful knife!

That edge is wicked man. Way better than the original v edge. Finally a tops I would buy lol

I love the Tanimboca Puukko! I had one, but sadly sold it. I’m thinking about picking up another one, though.
Love the high scandi you did!
Another great video
Good stuff!!!

I love that edge mod you did. Could I pay you to do the same to mine? As you mentioned, the edge just isn’t sharp enough.
This man knows his knives
Good vid
I did what you did also. If the knife will never see batoning, then it doesn’t need the edge it comes with.

Check out the za-pas modern pukko… polish made, 80crv2 and very similar in shape to this one… very resonable price too, like 40-50 bucks
Awesome I will do that , thanks !

Good video, informative. Your voice needs some volume, I have you at max volume and hard to hear you, please speak up a little.
