I just got into bloodborne this year, but I will say this; " I don't care which ending is good or bad, I am not leaving that poor doll alone in that nightmare."
I don’t think you understand the ending. The great ones are the will that controls the dream, making hunters go through it to kill other great ones. In the good ending you die and wake up in a reality where the hunt never even existed. In the bad ending, the moon presence takes over your will and embraces you, forcing you to send other hunters through the dream to kill other great ones. In the true ending, you are able to overpower the moon presences will, and destroy it; you ascend past humanity and become your own great one.
1. submitting your life- You done your service soldier. continue on with your life 2. Refusing- replace gehrman and suffer like him 3. Secret- Become a God So 3>1>2

I don’t think you forget the hunt in the “good” ending, you essentially just wake up in a new reality where the hunt never existed.
I don;t know how GOOD the good ending is. Letting Gehrman kill you seems like the cycle will go on forever but with other hunters. It's a happy more selfish ending but not a selfless one. I think it would be better to be a great one and end all this bullshit.
But the cycle would still continue. There would be other hunters, you are now just the prey. That basically makes every ending ‘neutral’. There is no real way to end the cycle. I just finished my first playthrough, and ended with the "Honoring Wishes" Ending. I was a fool. It really it the worst possible ending of the 3 because it leaves you bound to the Hunter's Dream for eternity, doomed to aid other hunters until the end of time. I should have accepted Gerhman's offer, then I could have left Yharnam and been free to live a happy, normal life. I suppose the one bit of good news in the "Honoring Wishes" ending is that you free Gerhman from the Hunter's Dream, and he can finally rest.
The best ending is the secret one, the moon presence was kind of controlling you and Gerhman. In the true ending, you overpower the moon presence will and ascend humanity, freeing gerhman and ending the hunt.
I consider freeing Gherman a more happy ending than waking up. The guy suffered enough and, as a friend, I felt like it was my duty to take over his burden. Walking away was not an option in that case, even if it means suffering for me
I would personally argue there is no "good" ending only 2 bad and 1 true. If you awake from the dream at the hands of ghernam then the hunt continues again and again for eternity leaving the great ones in control of the cycle. If you take over you're just a pawn waiting for the same thing you did to ghernam to happen to you. But if you become the infant great one then perhaps one day you will be powerful enough to end them and ascend humanity. That's what the healing church and Willem wanted. That's the next stage of humanity assuming you remember anything. Rom was the first human but she was left braindead by her transcendence. She lacked the insight you have from defeating all the bosses(great ones) and consuming the cords. That's why I believe you will one day remember humanity and assist them in becoming enlightened. Bloodborne has the greatest story ever told in a video game IMO. Cheers to from software for a flawless thought provoking game on the level of Hollywood's greatest films and histories greatest books! I actually think that the true ending is the one in which you wake up; it's somewhat similar, in its concept, to the ending in dark souls where you light the bonfire and start a new "age of fire" till the next curse. In this case, the Moon Presence, using Gehrman that acts like some sort of guide, uses the Hunt as a ruse to have you - the good hunter - exterminate the others great ones untill she is the only one left standing, at which point you are allowed to wake up and forget about everything, untill one day, when there will be new great ones to kill, the presence will call for another hunt (Bloodborne 2?). My theory is, should you refuse to leave the dream, the Moon Presence has Gehrman kill you, when he fails, the presence realizes you are better than him, and turns you into the "first hunter", that will reprise gehrman's role as a guide when the next hunt begins, to guide the next good hunter into killing all the new "great ones". Eventually, if you fight the Moon Presence and destroy it, you ascend to "divinity" (assuming the great ones are like some sort of lesser gods which are something that exist in the H.P. Lovecraft immaginary universe) yourself and eventually lead manking to their new era. If my theory is correct, if and when BB2 will be released, we will see Gehrman guide the new player to the new hunt. If not... well, BB2 will tell us which was the true ending *lol*
MrLuna098 a great one is powerful enough to take human form you become a baby great one it basically you turned ypurself into a baby to end the hunt for good
I'm late af, but from what I understand, you "transcend" the hunt, meaning you became a great one above all the other great one that are still keeping the hunt going. Maybe you become some kind of reincarnated Oedon? I dunno, all I know is that's technically the "good" ending, because you put an end to all of this. Bloodborne is just like all other games in the series: EVERY FUCKING SUCKS MAN from the healing church, to the great ones, to the hunters, everyone fucking sucks just like usual
The Hunters are portrayed in this game are as highly valuable individuals that can only face the despicable abominations without the average person needing to deal with. Based on nightmare to become something..
You are just some crazy person stuck in a terrible nightmare. Do you awake from the nightmare, stay crippled by the nightmare or become the nightmare? It's funny that the only way out is to die in the end instead of playing the rest of the game.
If you don’t kill the orphan than Gherman will end up in the nightmare, whether or not gherman is freed depends entirely on your actions. Don’t skip the nightmare
The First ending is the Absolute bad ending: you wake up, but the Night of the Hunt will begin once again and, this time, you will be a normal citizen, not an hunter. If you die, you will not come back this time. The Second Ending is the neutral ending: you become the new Gehrman and nothing will change. The Third Ending/True Ending is the Good Ending: you become a Great One and can decide either to stop the hunt or to continue it.
How Hunter sees Yharnam during his Night of The Hunt might not be how waking world sees it. To them it might be moment of feasting, celebration and revelry. A festival to celebrate their history. Nothing in the game explicitly says that Yharnam is any realer than Hunter's Dream is. Hunter might be just a regular dude in Yharnam who partook on their blood-related traditions and gave him a hell of kick in the head. A bad trip.
@@vksasdgaming9472 Eileen actually claim that she was in the dream once ( if she kills you, she says " say hello to the doll" or something like that and that she doesn't dream anymore). That means that she chose to wake up but she is still an hunter.
@@thetwelfthdoctor9892 Bloodborne is just so very open to interpretations that there is no reason to debate. I personally think whole Yharnam that Hunter goes through is a huge dream with multiple layers which does have connection with actual reality. I,ll admit, submititng my life to the guy who has been there sinc ei started the game was kind of..sad, really. I cant explain how. It just feels sort of sad.
I disagree. Jesus's sacrifice wasn't for us to become gods. It was to take the punishment we've earned for ourselves on himself so we can become clean and reconciled to our creator God. Also the 1st commandment is: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me." And that includes ourselves. I mean no ill will with my comment, and hope for my disagreement to be peaceful.
@@jumpingmoose5554 Jesus himself said, the scriptures themselves say that you are gods, but you will die like mortals. Jesus made the sacrifice so we would never know death. And we'll be in such a higher plane it would be as if gods
So the Secret ending is kinda similar to the secret ending in Amnesia The Dark Descent... holy shit, now that I think about it, these endings correspond really well: Bloodborne - Amnesia 1) Accept Gehrmans Execution and be free from the dream = Kill Alexander and leave the castle alive. 2) Free Gehrman and take his place = Let Alexander Escape and wait for the Shadow to kill you. 3)Through some really vague and difficult to figure out shit, Kill the Moon Presence, Break the Cycle, and become a Great One = Through some really vague and difficult to figure out shit, Help Agrippa, Outsmart Alexander and become a part of the Otherworldly Race ... oh also Spoiler Warning for Amnesia
so let me get this straight...the good ending is where you become that squid thing? or the one where you get on the wheel chair. and either way plain doll takes care of you.I have mixed feelings about that.
***** I don't really understand what's meant to be bad about the Hunter's Dream. If the dream is the area actually referred to as such in the game. It's a nice field with nice music and the Maiden In Black's sexy voice actress keeping you company. Or does it mean the Yharnham situation in general? In which case I'm not really sure what the real situation in the town is meant to be.
***** But then what exactly is the real situation in that town? Is it a Silent Hill style false world that you were fighting monsters in? Is the town itself normal? It's not very clear at all. I mean, there's at least one hunter in the "nightmare" town who refers to you still having dreams, as in they aren't having them anymore... but that would imply that the nightmare Yharnham is not a dream because they're in it.
There's actually a fourth ending its Called A Cycle of Hunt its a little bit similar to the 2nd ending of this video instead of awakening to the endless night it says -hunter we have a city to burn not a beast...
I just finish the game today with the 3rd ending. The game is so taxing mostly beating up gehrman. I used up all my vials during the fight. Good thing i beat him. Its a torture playing this game but enjoyable.
Jordan Smith thats the third ending,if you manage to consume 3 umbilical cords before fighting gerhman, when that thing tries to "stick" his face to you it suddenly jumps away, then the fight starts
mickaelaria From eating the cords, you gain enough insight to realize it's trying to control you and you force it back. Either that or after eating the cords you basically start the transformation into an old one and it sees you as competition. I don't know which is right though. The first came from a lore video and the latter is fan theory that I've heard.
For reference, none of the three endings are technically good endings, because no matter what you do, the cycle of the hunt will always continue. Should you submit yourself to Gherman, you will wake up from the dream, but in doing so condemn another to the dream at the time of the next hunt. Should you kill Gherman only, you stay in the dream to replace Gherman and the cycle continues, only with you overseeing the hunters. Kill both Gherman and the eldritch creature, and you literally become the eldritch creature, ready to grow and restart the cycle all over again. Truly a perfect no-win scenario.
A lot of people on here are saying that the ending were you accept Gehrman's offer is a bad ending, but I don't think it is...nor do I think it's necessarily a "good" ending. I think it's just...an ending. You did your duties as a Hunter, you defeated a bunch of crazed Hunters, felled some Great Ones and might beasts, and finally you destroyed the nightmare infant Mergo. After all that, Gehrman rewards you by offering to free you from the Hunter's Dream, allowing you to continue with your own life in the real world. It's not good or bad, really. It's just, you did your work and now you're free to go.
Maybe the whole time we thought we were the hero we were actually the monster? Would make sense why the messengers "worship" the hunters for "some odd reason unknown"
There are 2 bad endings and one true ending Bad ending 1 You submitted and woke up from the nightmare but the hunt will go on and the great ones are still in control and they will find another hunter Bad ending 2 You became a pawn of the moon presence True ending You sacrificed your life to become the moon presence but in a baby sort of way and you still have your humanity and one day end the nightmare forever Lewd ending You were used as a live dildo of that hot assistant of yours
it's like Bloodborne but with Jason Bourne in the role of the good hunter? Moon Presence: "Fuck, who killed gehrman? let me go and check...." "...holy shit, it's Jason Bourne!"
Hey, I needed to use some clips for a short Bloodborne comedy video I made, and I used a bit from here. I hope you don't mind? You have been liked, credited, and subscribed to.
Hey, thanks for posting this video Shirrako. I was wondering if I can get permission to use a clip from it in a video of my own I'm making? Basically I'm too lazy to play all the way through Bloodborne multiple times and record myself getting all the endings, but I'd like to use footage from the different endings. Please let me know and I'll be sure to give you credit in my video. I appreciate your response either way!
Maria....I...I'll called you maria from now on. But, please, put that thing down, I'll be so upset if you gonna pet that little purple thing and dhhhhhmmmm.....what? Don't call EVERYthing "hunter"!
I prefer the Yharnam Sunrise ending because i get to be free of the nightmare and live a normal life. the only reason our hunter was there in the first place getting the blood transfusion was because they got infected with a really rare disease and that was their only way to cure it. outside of that they don't owe anyone anything. and there's no guarantee that becoming an old one would end the nightmare.
Why does everyone think that becoming squid is the best/true ending. Everyone is like - "ohh when I became a god I will be the good one Im sure of it" - like this is litterally what 90% of people think. It's the same logic like - "well if I was a king i would be the good king" or "well if I would be the tyrant I would be the good one". Not even thinking that the power corrupts and having the power over others is literally much more selfish than waking up and forgeting.
I’m confused by one thing, why, in the bad ending is the Doll pushing the Hunter in the wheelchair? It’s not like we (the Hunter) lost our leg. 😅😂 we’re still perfectly capable of walking right?
Listen, being a God is good and all, and ending the hunt is good and all, but if you don’t mind can I be a human? Eh, I’m a baby God, I don’t know my abilities yet, so in my head canon I can turn into a human form later on, along with other abilities. Sorry Doll, you’re cool and all but I’m gonna turn you into the Fire Keeper, thus giving you more emotes then clap, bow and look confused. What did I think of the game? I thought it was good, which I generally my reaction to most games, I rarely have such affinity for a game that I call it a masterpiece. I only wish there was another dlc, perhaps some more shit about Cainhurst?
I ate the umbilical cords on my first playthrough, would it affect my NG+ too? I don't want to go through everything again and end up not getting the honouring wishes trophy
he is is i dunno how to put it mmmm testing you if you want to put it like that, if u dont cosume the 3cords you dont have enough knowledge about what happening with the great ones, the other ending, the moon prescense push you and fight against your because you know to much and he sees you as a treath and when u kill him to become a great one. the easy way to explain it i guess
I believe he embraces you to make you his new child. The describtion od the Third Umbilical Cord says that every Great One loses his child and searches for a surrogate. The Moon Presence found a surrogate in Gehrmann but after you kill him, he yearna for a new child and the good hunter is the best choice for this
Sooo when you die and wake up; is yharnam back to normal? Like no more beasts and were wolfs and shit ?? I'm really confused. And why the fuck did he turn into a squid?
+RideblueFoo503 No. This "particular Hunt" has ended, but they will be more of them since the Moon Presence is (probably) the source of the Scourge of the Beast. Humans will keep using Blood of the Great Ones, and will keep turning into beasts. Gehrman is only the "slave" of the Moon Presence. If you kill him, you just take his place... But if you kill the Moon Presence, you become a infant Great One (the squid). But why ? Eating the three umbilical cord sure helped but... There is a theory that it's thanks to the Doll. This theory says that the Doll is a Great One, the only Great One who found how to raise a child (blood echoes and stuff) without losing him (the game says that every Great One loses its child). This may not be the truth, but I absolutely love this interpretation.

Mike Hatten eh definitely not the greatest the story is alright
@@jumpfailblaze thats the best part of its story, you have to search for it
The concept of becoming a "great one" squid beguiles me still. I mean we become a powerful being but we're a squid. Why can't we be human?
MrLuna098 a great one is powerful enough to take human form you become a baby great one it basically you turned ypurself into a baby to end the hunt for good
Because you’re a baby, the doll has to nurture and grow you up to what the other great ones look like
@@corbinmerla3451 Bro wut, i hope we don't become something like Amygdala lol.
Bloodborne is just like all other games in the series:
EVERY FUCKING SUCKS MAN
from the healing church, to the great ones, to the hunters, everyone fucking sucks just like usual
Because *time for squid*
Somehow i feel bad for the doll in that third ending.
Yeah she had good company it seems, until the farewell.
Gerham is still there, waiting to set the next hunter free.
squid every time because the good ending is the one with the most boss fights
Idk why but i really like the way the doll says "oh good hunter" in the infant great one ending
Almost like the decision pleases her. You, her eternal companion, and her, your caretaker hugging you.
It's funny that the only way out is to die in the end instead of playing the rest of the game.
this is one of the best games ive ever played
Locations are real in various degrees, but events are not physically real. My conclusion on matter.
there's is no "true" "bad" or "good" ending, that's just your opinion.
@@capybara9521 no
I just realised. In the "great one" ending, you can faintly hear some kind of sound, like someone is sobbing in the background
farewell good hunter... may you find your worth in the waking world
Anyone else hear crying at the end of the "squid" ending?
William Trinh oh yeah!!
Those are the Messengers. They've always made sounds like that.
Wait are we this thing? ... cool
c'thun saying cthun. hhehe! old gods against old ones.
What thing
The slug?
Charlie Kirby yeap
Completed bloodborne for the first time yesterday. Became a squid, thanks doll.
I FOUGHT two additional bosses, died 1 billion times just to become a squid...
A godly squid
So Bloodborne's merely a prequel for splatoon?
the winning move is not to play, it's a trap and that's no moon.
the doll is beatiful
I,ll admit, submititng my life to the guy who has been there sinc ei started the game was kind of..sad, really.
I cant explain how. It just feels sort of sad.
Fiend Matador Slayer of a Thousand Noobs It kinda also feels like the right thing to do doesn't it?
who else killed gehrman and after realised that it goes to ng+ automaticly and now you have to play it all over to do the dlc
me lmao
Yes literally did the same build too shit sucks
The third ending is a lot like Jesus sacrificing himself...like you become an infant great one to lead humanity to ascension
Jesus failed
I disagree. Jesus's sacrifice wasn't for us to become gods. It was to take the punishment we've earned for ourselves on himself so we can become clean and reconciled to our creator God.
Also the 1st commandment is: "Thou shalt have no other gods before me."
And that includes ourselves.
TM3000 thats deep
@@richardshiflett5181
Lore wise, no. He spared humanity of God's wrath by taking our punishment on to himself.
One of the best games ever made.
So the Secret ending is kinda similar to the secret ending in Amnesia The Dark Descent... holy shit, now that I think about it, these endings correspond really well:
Bloodborne - Amnesia
1) Accept Gehrmans Execution and be free from the dream = Kill Alexander and leave the castle alive.
2) Free Gehrman and take his place = Let Alexander Escape and wait for the Shadow to kill you.
3)Through some really vague and difficult to figure out shit, Kill the Moon Presence, Break the Cycle, and become a Great One = Through some really vague and difficult to figure out shit, Help Agrippa, Outsmart Alexander and become a part of the Otherworldly Race
... oh also Spoiler Warning for Amnesia
Neo2266 Joel dies in last of us 2
The Hunter who takes Gerhman's place mutters one phrase over and over in their sleep:
"Gehrman is free...Gehrman is free..."
Ireally love the end whene you give your life to the old man
so let me get this straight...the good ending is where you become that squid thing? or the one where you get on the wheel chair. and either way plain doll takes care of you.I have mixed feelings about that.
***** gotcha. thanks. I haven't played it.
*****
But then what exactly is the real situation in that town? Is it a Silent Hill style false world that you were fighting monsters in?
Is the town itself normal? It's not very clear at all. I mean, there's at least one hunter in the "nightmare" town who refers to you still having dreams, as in they aren't having them anymore... but that would imply that the nightmare Yharnham is not a dream because they're in it.
i like ambiguity in a game, but this just made me hate it. All that effort just to meet more cryptic shit.
lulubeloo
Same here. I mean... setting things up so you need to investigate the answers is good.
But NOT HAVING any answers is terrible.
There's actually a fourth ending its Called A Cycle of Hunt its a little bit similar to the 2nd ending of this video instead of awakening to the endless night it says -hunter we have a city to burn not a beast...
I became a squid!!!
woo!!!!!!!!!!!
Gehrman: so...I'll kill you, but you'll be free, wdyt?
Hunter: *_DAGA KOTOWARU_*
Also hunter: Hey, you're finally awake.
I just finish the game today with the 3rd ending. The game is so taxing mostly beating up gehrman. I used up all my vials during the fight. Good thing i beat him. Its a torture playing this game but enjoyable.
So, Anyone else think we are going to kill the thing that makes us like Gerhman?
Jordan Smith thats the third ending,if you manage to consume 3 umbilical cords before fighting gerhman, when that thing tries to "stick" his face to you it suddenly jumps away, then the fight starts
mickaelaria From eating the cords, you gain enough insight to realize it's trying to control you and you force it back. Either that or after eating the cords you basically start the transformation into an old one and it sees you as competition.
I don't know which is right though. The first came from a lore video and the latter is fan theory that I've heard.
Ah, I actually learned we could kill it after watching the video. Then we get turned into a slug creature thing.
Jordan Smith I believe that "Slug creature" is called... A squid.
thedredmanable You're a squid, you're a kid.
After the hunt ends why don't the townspeople just leave?
Nice work you did, you're gonna go far, squid.
There are 2 bad endings and one true ending
Bad ending 1
You submitted and woke up from the nightmare but the hunt will go on and the great ones are still in control and they will find another hunter
Bad ending 2
You became a pawn of the moon presence
True ending
You sacrificed your life to become the moon presence but in a baby sort of way and you still have your humanity and one day end the nightmare forever
Lewd ending
You were used as a live dildo of that hot assistant of yours
+John Philip Rectra greats ones are in control.. of what, exactly?
Wait the reason I always see her at the other grave was another hunter that has woken from the nightmare?
Its actually Marias grave
So it’s like linking the 1st flame you just take the place of the last
The king is dead, long live king squidward!
BloodBourne is fucking cool.
FrozenFire047 BloodBourne
Yeah i know it's mispelled
BloodBourne
it's like Bloodborne but with Jason Bourne in the role of the good hunter?
Moon Presence: "Fuck, who killed gehrman? let me go and check...." "...holy shit, it's Jason Bourne!"
Poor doll
Bloodborne ending:kill wet nurse or something idk never play the game pc port when?
Dark souls3 ending:title drop
it's the matrix
Hey, I needed to use some clips for a short Bloodborne comedy video I made, and I used a bit from here. I hope you don't mind? You have been liked, credited, and subscribed to.
Moon presence = Samael in Silent Hill.
I just like the fact that the bad ending has for somereason german text, while the voice acting is english.
Maria....I...I'll called you maria from now on. But, please, put that thing down, I'll be so upset if you gonna pet that little purple thing and dhhhhhmmmm.....what? Don't call EVERYthing "hunter"!
67IronwhalE .... That thing is the hunter though, surprise! You become a squid :D
Technically there is a fourth ending where you just hunt forever and you become a PVP player it kind of makes sense
"Oh, good hunter,"
Ah shit I never noticed that was a comma before, what was she going to say?
As Bloodborne showed us, even cosmic horrors want sweet relationships and to make babies.
Would be pretty cool if they learned some things from the past and put a confirmation action for ng+. it really pissed me off when i triggered it
Why does everyone think that becoming squid is the best/true ending.
We never did find that damn Paleblood, did we?
the doll
The moon presence was paleblood
Looks like the game doesn't have any happy endings, except losing the leg and stuck in Gehrman's wheelchair
youu forgot the ending where you DENY the moon presence and it starts the secret boss fight.
That's the secret ending
That’s the secret one smh
I could care less about the "good" or "bad" endings. I just care about The Doll.
Kill Gehrman=Save him (Bad ending?)
Get killed By Gehrman=Gehrman save you (Good ending)
Goofy ah ending=Eyo wtf
Bruh I was wearing executioners garb and skipped the cutscene this was class
I don't mind being a squid 🦑
I ate the umbilical cords on my first playthrough, would it affect my NG+ too? I don't want to go through everything again and end up not getting the honouring wishes trophy
No it wouldnt
1:23 Bad Ending
3:14 Normal Ending
2:39 Good Ending
At least that's how I view it
When the moon presence hugs you what is he doing?
he is is i dunno how to put it mmmm testing you if you want to put it like that, if u dont cosume the 3cords you dont have enough knowledge about what happening with the great ones, the other ending, the moon prescense push you and fight against your because you know to much and he sees you as a treath and when u kill him to become a great one. the easy way to explain it i guess
I believe he embraces you to make you his new child. The describtion od the Third Umbilical Cord says that every Great One loses his child and searches for a surrogate. The Moon Presence found a surrogate in Gehrmann but after you kill him, he yearna for a new child and the good hunter is the best choice for this
He is S U C C I N G you.
He’s prolly just horny
2:54 what is this ?
You are that you be reborn as a great one baby
And she is looking forward to do something with you. Since she is alone with the hunter. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Why are you all calling it the true ending? I'm sure it's not canon.
These games r too fucking hard
I hate gerhamn for chopping me like I was shit ...
What gear was he using for the first ending?
Cainhurst armor, then when he finally finished the boss fight he had the executioner chest piece on.
Trusty ™ Thanks
I didn’t even get to fight all the fights yet and some how I got to the ending
I had the squid ending, what the fuck is that thing
You became a great one, and lifted humanity into it's next childhood.
This game was made by Japanese people, remember.
Right, this game was made by japanese people haha
oh ok, that explains everything. I'm staying away from games like this one in the future.
xSuigetsu It's a squid, it's a kid.
+xSuigetsu you're a kid now
you're a squid now
The last one is my favorite.
well the souls endings aren't that much better, on the first look they just seem like they are
Am I the only one who thinks the doll is hot?
This is who the squid game guy truly is
I had the first one. Is it just random or did you have to do something else to get the squid ending
Eat three umbilical cords before you fight gherman
