  • 2D and coupled 1D/2D simulations can now be modeled at no additional cost in the latest version of SewerGEMS and CivilStorm! Watch this short video to see how to quickly visualize 2D surface flooding along with 1D pipe and channel network hydraulics in the same simulation. See more:

    What a great upgrade ❤️, We used to use HEC-Ras for 2D-models , I'm going to try SewerGEMS and compare the results❤️

    Hi
    In a 2d modeling on Sewergems (especially the water depth) does it take in consideration the flow absorbed by catch bassin in case when the road contains catch bassin connected to manholes

      Hi - the connection of a catchbasin to a manhole would be done using a conduit, which is a sub-surface element. Meaning, surface flow (from the 2D grid, if using the 2D functionality) would first be captured by the inlet (as part of the catchbasin element), which then travels through the downstream pipe under the ground, entering the subsurface vault of the connected manhole element. The 2D surface flow will be appropriately exchanged with the subsurface 1D flow accordingly. @bentleyopenflows can i model my 1d model to 2d model or i need to layout same model again in 2d . facing lot of input issues regarding surface definitions. how i can learn more in depth understanding

      You can use your existing 1D model, then add a terrain and 2D elements on top of it for a linked 1D-2D model. You can find more information in the Help documentation and the below article.

      We are also working on a 2D training course/workshop. In the meantime you can ask specific questions on our forum:

    It looks simple comparing to other 2D modeling software which is a good point. However, after i installed and tried to do the same exercise following the instruction given in the webinar in your webpage, it doesn't seem to work properly and always giving an error without enough detail of the error. The error was "The 2d solver failed during the calculation. see the report tab on the calculation summary".

      Ali, did you try the Validate command? Please post this on our forum so that Technical Support can assist. We may need a copy of the data files (zipped) to review. Forum link: communities.bentley.com/products/hydraulics___hydrology/f/haestad-hydraulics-and-hydrology-forum

    I hve a genuine issue/error, i designed trapezoidal channel after setting grid and computing,
    its giving prismatic open channel issue in 2d modelling, and asking me to change conduit type to channel from user defined..I have mentioned all conduit as user defined instead prototype conduit, what is the easy solution??

    The 2D engine does not support prismatic open channels. Change the conduit to a channel and set the cross-section definition at the bounding cross sections." SWMM Export Validation
    Hi Bentley, why this error? I used conduits with catch basins, and have set conduit as rectangular channel. Do I need to replace my conduits to channel and catch basin to cross sections?

    • @bentleyopenflows
      @bentleyopenflows  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You can model the rectangular channel section in the cross section element to establish the cross sectional area at each point along the channel, and connect cross sections with channel link elements. This enables the channel "burn in" to work with and exchange flow with the 2D grid.
