    SCUTTLE Robot Project: www.SCUTTLErobot.org
    I unboxed this printer and just went at it. Creator Pro 2 is surprisingly nice with IDEX technology (Independent Dual Extruders)
    This IDEX feature is largely overlooked and underrated for productivity. I'm so stoked to have this printer.

    Does it look like you could upgrade to all metal hotends that would do nylon or polycarb? Out of the box its says 240 for the max on the hot end. I need to print Nylon. Also, you think it could be converted to silent drivers? How noisy is it with the doors closed? Thank you for this great review!

    Would you please give me some help? Loading filament in my Creator Pro 2 is incredibly hard! I must be doing something wrong
    I have to force the filament into the head while pushing down the lever I know, but it kills me every time. I'm going crazy

      I had this issue in the past. The filament can have some misalignment. Instead of explaining, it's really best if you set aside 30 minutes to disassemble the head. You'll see how the filament enters and how it works inside. Then you'll know what to do, based on the behavior of the "sticking." Let me know if you try it.

    Nice video. This creator pro 2 looks interesting. I unfortunately can’t find reviews about it.
    Did you already printed 2 colors in 1 print and with solvable support materials? So yes, is the printer handling that well?

    • @davidmalawey
      @davidmalawey  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope I have never tried soluble supports except a very expensive kind that comes with a Stratasys uPrint.

    Cheers for the video, quick question, I'm looking for my first printer but also to use within my business, I'm stuck between this and the flashforge guider 2, is there any difference other than the fact this one has duel extruder?

    • @joyzhang1468
      @joyzhang1468 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Guider 2 is with a single extruder, but a much bigger printing volume: 280*250*300mm.

    I have a Creator Pro 2 and I am trying to do batch prints with the duplicate mode. The issue I am running into is that when I layout the models on the build plate then choose the 'duplicate extruder' option in Flashprint, it puts a large gap down the middle which pushes some of the objects off the build plate. This is quite annoying as I've only been able to print 16 objects in a batch when there is more than enough space to fit 20. I am pretty new to this but cannot seem to find any settings or options around this subject or find any tutorials about it. It could very well be that I just don't know the name of what I am trying to achieve but any help would be greatly appreciated. Oh and thanks for this video, it helped immensely in getting my machine set up and running!

    • @D3ADSY
      @D3ADSY 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure this is correct (I don't have an IDEX printer, but looking at buying one), but I think you lose some build volume because there is some dead space in the middle so the two extruders don't hit each other.

    • @stuartpollock84
      @stuartpollock84 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@D3ADSY what you are describing is correct when printing in 'mirror' mode, for instance let's say you have a left foot, you could use mirror mode to print the left foot on one extruder and the right foot (mirrored version) on the other. In this instance yes, you would definitely need dead space down the middle to avoid the extruder clashing.
      However, in duplicate mode, the extruders are fixed distance the entire print and follow the exact same path so they can never come in contact with each other. So like the example above each extruder would print a copy of the left foot. My logical thinking is that in duplicate mode the gap down the middle would at most be 10mm between the virtual left and right build volumes of each extruder.
      Now it looks like that in Flashprint but in reality when the print is done, even if you have you models placed right up to the edge of the virtual build volume, there is still a gap of 30mm down the middle. That is quite substantial on a build plate of only 200mm width.
      I hope all that made sense 😅

    Hey David, Thanks for mentioning how the flashforge Creator Pro is underrated. I have had lots of printers and to me, the Flashforge Creator Pro is one of the best printers out there at an intermediate price. I was thinking about getting the creator 3 but at 3k, I had to think again. This answers my call. Having used it for a while, would you recommend it?

    • @davidmalawey

      Yeah I used it almost every day since video release. Everything is going smoothly.

    Hi David, I’m new to 3d printing and just picked up a creator pro 2. For the life of me I cannot figure out how to make it print with both extruders at the same time. I have successfully printed the two benchy’s, but when it comes to printing duplicates of my own prints I can’t find the setting in flash print. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, Tia.

      I just got a slightly used one. Overall I really like it - it’s not fast and the stepper drivers are crazy noisy (unless they have improved that) but it is solid. Really well built. Lack of Wi-Fi is annoying but the idex is so cool.
