Proof that just because our kids are silent, doesn't mean they don't see the mess around them.
Well done young Brother. Phil 4:13 - Amen.

Joshua I am such a big fan of your work. I hope that somehow you will see my comment and know how much you have impacted on the lives of others. As a school teacher I use you as an example to inspire others. I have heard your Brown Brother speech multiple times over the years and your words still mean something to me every time I see/hear you. You are a special human being and I am so glad to see you here doing what you were born to do!

This topic can never get enough attention, every bit of this was amazing and Joshua is something I can only aspire to be. This is one hell of a flawless representation in an area that does not get nearly enough representation.

Congratulations Joshua. A beautiful sermon that is almost a rallying cry to us all. You should be proud of the effort you put in and the impact it will and has had. Well Done..

I truly love this video... So many times we place barriers upon ourselves... Not believing in ourselves at times we see ourselves in a classroom full of palangis.. N not believing we are just as good as them n that we belong there... We didnt jus get there through luck... Malo aupito.

I live in south Auckland and i think that the government see's the people living in the area to much as a 'stupid people' in general, but hey I was born and raised in Samoa and look like a Indian but I still so well in school, that is why i love Joshua's poems, they relate to me and the others.

inspirational - this truly motivated me in my journey through school. I officially graduated last year. I got university offers from 2 of Sydney's leading education institutions. I am currently studying law and hoping to become one of the first Samoans from Mangere NZ to have my own law firm in Sydney and specialize in Family Law.
I played Joshua's brown brother speech every time I studied in High school, and I still do. All things are Possible with Christ

Have tracked that speech from the start, but hadn't caught it on TEDx. Go you - embedded in even greater meaning, being in the international forum! I'm pakeha, tertiary-educated, my children are in high school and have been able to take advantage of as many opportunities as I can afford - and Brown Brother is a repeated mantra in this house. Boxes come in many forms, and you are a total inspiration for those trying to break out of the boundaries less visible and never addressed in politics or the media. Even three years down the track, you continue to inspire in this wee house!
