    I have a 2013 ES 350 with now only 36,000 miles. By far the best car I’ve ever owned and I’ve owned 20 cars since 1980. Reliability and dependability is unparalleled, nothing beats the ES. The fit and finish and craftsmanship is amazing, the car drives like it’s new solid like a tank and quiet like a vault ! I’ve got 4 1/2 years left of payments and then after that I’ll be keeping this baby for another 10 + years

      Very true! It's definitely not the enthusiast's car, and I doubt the 2019 ES F-Sport model will be either given it's still FWD, but this is a very popular seller in Lexus' inventory with their core demographic.

      How this car compared to cadillac and Lincoln??

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's certainly a great question, and we'll see if we can get the chance to feature something along side this down the road! The CTS is RWD, but the current Lincoln MKZ does have a front-wheel version, so that would be the most comparable to this.

      We're actually surprised it doesn't have the rear climate or rear heated seats. The 2019 ES has more or less been announced now, we expect the rear heated seats to be on that one for sure.

    the infotainment screen looks odd compared the interiors, i guess is the base model because other lexus that see use a bigger 12" inch screen.
    ventilated and heated seats are cool but not really special for this kind of car, i found ventilated seats, heated seats and steering wheel on the new hyundai kona (is a small crossover/suv not sold in north america and its 30 cm shorter than hyundai tucson) and on the small hyundai kona are really impressive.
    toyota hybrids dont use cvt, they use an eCVT works similar but is totally different, a cvt use a belt between two pulley, the eCVT is a differential with only gears and without any belt/chain.

      The ES is only available with that odd looking 8” screen, or a smaller one for audio only.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Executive Package wouldn't have changed the screen unfortunately. The ES is marketed quite a bit less than the GS, so they need to make some changes with their offerings in order to keep it competitive. We're hoping to see what some of the other new Lexus models look like, we're sure a bigger screen would be nicer overall.

    • @francismartinez6049
      @francismartinez6049 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Antoine Pageau Kia is a nice car, but this Lexus would be more reliable in the long run. If your the type of guy who likes to keep his car for 5-8 years and then sell it - the Kia is perfect. If you want it to last 20 years, get the Lexus.

    • @antoinepageau8336
      @antoinepageau8336 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      If KIA was an American or British brand I wouldn't doubt your statement. Korean manufacturers seem much closer in philosophy to the Japanese than the Americans or Brits. I see a product that is aiming for Japanese reliability and European road manners and styling. The question that hurts is why haven't Lexus (Toyota) and the other Japanese manufactures been able do this?

    • @antoinepageau8336
      @antoinepageau8336 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The problem is that it was never about what Toyota or Lexus wants, it's what the customers / market wants. It also explains why we don't all drive Lada's.

    • @antoinepageau8336
      @antoinepageau8336 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't see the relevance. Cars aren't art and even if they were it's the market that determines what is successful or not. Great for Lexus if they're doing well, it doesn't take away from KIA and Hyundai's rapide growth and success. If I didn't know better I'ld guess you work for Toyota (or Lexus).

      That’s a good question! I haven’t had a chance to drive the 2019 yet but it looks really nice. Lexus makes some solid cars that age incredibly well, and this ES has a lot going for it. Might be able to get a great deal on one if a dealership still has one sitting in inventory!

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think they're going to be changing things up for the foreseeable future. The 2019 ES continues with the current design language found on their other sedans.

  • @BeesonsCars
    @BeesonsCars 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    The interior is very lackluster in my opinion. My family was looking between a 2017 Lexus ES350 Ultra Luxury (US version of Executive package) and a 2017 Lexus GS350 AWD and the GS was MUCH nicer inside compared to the ES for not much more money. The ES was MSRP $49k usd and the GS was $56k msrp. But we ended up getting a white on black GS350 premium package for about $48k (pretty good discount from 56k. )

      GS is absolutely reliable , great handling , luxurious. nonetheless interior looking quite boring and tasteless.you can also take a look for the IS350 f-sport ,it's much fancy then

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      We haven't had a chance to see the current generation GS, but everyone is going to have their own opinions about styling no matter what.

    • @BeesonsCars
      @BeesonsCars 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      PRN it wasn’t really the styling (I kinda liked the ES more on looks on the inside). But, the build quality for the GS was much higher. The center console felt very plasticky on the ES, and on the GS it’s soft touch with more padding. The volume knobs are actually aluminum on the GS, and the leather had more padding. But, the ES had better seats in the Executive trim, having thigh extensions and more adjustments. Also, the 15 Speaker ML stereo in the loaded ES is much better than the standard 12 Speaker pioneer system in the GS (obviously).

    • @samsonokoro5036
      @samsonokoro5036 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Tyler Beeson there's not much more that different from a fully loaded ES that goes all the way to slightly over 50k to a fully loaded Gs apart from the massive infotainment screen in the Gs and a few other features available like more adjustable seats and rear heating etc. But a fully loaded Gs 450 h which is basically the top of the line is over 60k. I think the major difference is with the engines and drive trains really. One.can customise both cars to really look very nice on the interior.

    • @khoiquach
      @khoiquach 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I always love the sexiness and manliness of the GS since forever, so I got an 16 GS but had to return it and got an 16 ES 350 even though I love the 311 hp powerful engine of the GS with paddle shifter. I drive mostly in traffic at rush hour, and the steering wheel on GS feel heavy to me at 30-40 mph. At 80 mph, it's a nice beast. My other car was 18 RX 350, which the steering is super light. So I got an 2016 ES 350, it does fit me better, very smooth and quiet ride, just not powerful as the GS with only 268 hp. Steering is awesome, Sport mode and manual shifting is still powerful. Exterrior and interior also looks nice too compare to GS. Only thing better in GS is the bigger 12.3 inch screen. ES is much smoother and quieter.

    • @PRNTestDrive
      @PRNTestDrive  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We'd certainly like to compare them, though most people will complain that the 5 Series BMW is AWD over the Lexus ES' FWD-only option. We've been considering what to compare this vehicle with and it's tough since the Acura TLX is all-wheel drive, and the Infiniti Q70 also comes AWD-only.
