    I use Theraband gold 1 inch strips with a double band set. I tie mine up a little different, but basically the same. I wrap my bands near my pouch and then tuck it through itself using a loop of string. Thanks for a few ideas tho. I like your clamp set up. I usually get my wife to stretch them out while I wrap it. Haha.

    I watched this video when it first was uploaded. Didn’t ever purchase the board and tools because of fork hits. Having the board and tools would have come in handy for one of my last projects adding a latex liner for my bow quiver slots. Cutting the strips was a straight STRUGGLE haha.

    Instead of elastics have you tried shrink tubing? solid and stays where you put it.
    Elastics are good but have shelf life shrink tubing can be re-heated and stay in place if needed your thoughts?

    Do you ever shoot .177" BBs? I've been shooting a little PFS I made using office rubber. I have some 1632 tubes coming in as well which should give me a bit more zip. They're tons of fun, especially for indoor plinking.

    Long time ago, in my mid teens, I used to make slingshot bands from unrepairable inner tube (tyre). They worked excellently.
    At one point the tube began to be made from a material that, after stretching, would go back to its original size very slowly. That was the end.

    • @Bikewer
      @Bikewer 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Me too. Back in the 50s and early 60s, most tire tubes were made of natural rubber that made good bands. Then, they switched to “butyl” rubber that didn’t.... However..... Bicycle tubes are still made of natural rubber, and mountain-bike tubes work quite well....

    How thick are your bands (the red and the last one you used for example)? Just to figured out around what thickness I should look for. I would try to make my own latex squares are usually in quite big volumes and I would like to avoid buying many just to test...and on websites here they talk more about how it feels on your skin that how performant it is for slingshots...if you know what I mean...

    Coffee questions....I don't drink coffee but I noticed you do sometimes.
    If you had it to do over again, would you choose: "10 pounds of legumes" (ie, coffee?).
    Is that a lot? How long would that last? I know some people used to carry it on the fronteir.
    They also made coffee substitutes. Have you ever made a coffee substitute? Would you make some video(s) about that?
    Examples: brigham tea, roasted chicory, roasted dandelion root, etc. Some of these things had caffeine while some were for the flavor.

    Just got into sling shots. It seems my band has stretched a bit. I've also anchored to the corner of my mouth. I believe that has seriously slowed my shots. If I were to go hunting... In not sure it'd do much to a squirrel or a rabbit. Should I consider shortening my band? Or increase my pull back closer to my ear(that will definitely Jack with my accuracy)?

    • @FowlersMakeryandMischief
      @FowlersMakeryandMischief  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the torque shoots only over the top in either tubes which it comes with or bands which it dose not come included. It is more pocket friendly and my favorite right now mostly because of the pocket friendly bit and i don't leave home without it. The scout is the better of the 2 and easier to become good with since it is more accurate to shoot threw the forks. But the scout can do both. the only thing it dose not do well is live in ones back pocket as part of ones edc.

    ok i know nothing about rubber bands or slingshot but im making a crossbow pistol an it called for a specific rubber an when buying it i could only get a 18 foot long by 5 inch wide roll so i have alot of extra an im curious if i can use it on slings shots or is it not the best option. also what is the best way to store the rubber cause from my experience with using rubber bands they dont last long b4 they start to fall apart an deteriorate to almost a dust so id at least like to be able to keep this stuff without it falling apart on me to quickly. the rubber i purchased was thera-band max resistance.

      Zviad, I'm eager to see if someone makes a video of this since I was wondering the same thing, but it looks tricky to do.
      I know dandelions have latex in them (white milky stuff that oozes when you snap them in half). Most of it seems to be in the roots, but how the back so you make a band out of them? There is a German company extracting latex from the plant and apparently latex floats on water, but beyond that... you either need to keep at the patent or experiment. Not sure how to make a band out of it once you get the latex. Does anyone else here know?

      there has been talk in the slingshot forums and no one knows of anything natural that that could allow you to make a holy natural slingshot band. i have played around with striping out the elastic fiber in underware bands and jacket pull cords and that is posible.
