Love the slingshot vids. Reminds me of my grandfather who was never without his classic milbro in his pocket. He was a shepherd after WW2, so had plenty of time to practice out in the fields. I saw him clean shoot birds on the wing more than once. Carried his slingshot everywhere and was always scanning the ground for the perfect stone for ammo. I'd love to have his slingshot but it went with him to his grave.
I hope you guys find this useful Those of you that I purchased and picked up slingshot lately. And maybe the rest of you find it less daunting Go ahead and purchase one ;) For the rest you Sorry I know this is probably boring as heck So thanks for watching And sharing it with those that might be interested ;)
Fowler's Makery and Mischief It wasn’t a boring video at all it was actually very helpful I have already ordered a skull and crossbones shirt and a cold steel shovel and I am probably going to get a slingshot from you don’t listen to the haters too!!!
If you put the steel ball in the plug after you plug it, it will be easier and firm. If you pull of the bands after pluging, the lenght of the bands might be different, so no accurate shots. Thanks for hearing me out!😁🙏
Received my Occularis, got a Sparrow on the way. One afternoon with your tutorials and I’m already plinking cans at 20 feet and cutting/rigging my own stuff. Made a catch box out of a box that our new sink came in…that, some twine, some t-shirts and some binder clips and voila. Thanks.
As of today this is the coolest video I've ever seen yet. I forgot how much fun one can have, its been 50 years! I'm getting me another one now. Thank you so much friend.
I am so excited!!! I just got the Sparrow for Christmas! Watched the video from Simple Shot and couldn’t really see what he was doing with his hands to attach the rubber sling. Thank you so much for making this so simple! I’m ready to go out and target shoot!!!
I remember as a kid making sling shots always tying with string and having bands going inside . Who knew , looking forward to doing it right . I wasn't bad back then . The town around me as a 70 year old are about to start seeing less of a pigeon problem . Pigeon pot pie .We will see . Great info , loved episodes in Rockies with Ovens .
Man, I've never been into Slingshots. I've tried to build one back in the eighties when I was a small Boy - and now I know why it wasn’t working 😁 Thanks Fowler, it was a lot of knowledge and I've learned a lot. Maybe it will save my ass one Day. I will definitely ad some Slingshotbends with a pouch to my Survivalkit, it's small and multi usage!
oh yeah my friend another great video an the ocularis is one of the easiest an simplist way to go for someone like i think because ofthe way it is great all around thankyou for shareing
Thank you the way you tie bands on are very easy .i had to make my own sling shot for defense.I am crippled with arthritis and the way you wrap bands r very easy for me.
I happened across your video as for some reason it came up out of the blue in my recommended viewing list! I thought I would give it a look-see as, like millions of others, I always had a homemade catapult in the back pocket of my britches when I was a little kid 60 odd years ago. I really enjoyed seeing how things have evolved since the days of my youth and it brought back a flood of joyful memories for me, especially the last one made of wood. We didn't have the latex or tubes so we used to use our old bicycle innertubes for the bands. Many a time I'd come home with a welt on the side of my face when the band would break after going out to catch a Rabbit, Pheasant or other such small game for my nan to prepare for the dinner table! I'm now a subscriber and look forward to watching some more of your very entertaining videos. Alas, I wouldn't be allowed a catapult now as the other residents in my care home would no doubt kick up a ruckus! 😊
Thanks so much for the video. My wife is super interested in slingshots (as am I) and this video really helped get me up to speed on what I need to know to make our first purchase. We'll be buying from your website. I&M from Oregon.
thank you so much. I appreciate you letting us know about good safety habits (so important). I lost an eye when I was young with a old rifle that didn"t have proper safety issues in place, so I can"t afford losing my only eye left, out. I use safety glasses when I shoot however if you prefer not to, keep in mind what this pro is saying, draw to the cheek, not the eye. Excellent teaching, thanks again and God Bless your shooting adventures. From Canada, with love.....Deniz
I’m a new subscriber! Love your videos mate I’m from York in England over here we call it poor mans hunting! I’ve been slingshot hunting for a good few years now and I absolutely love it! There’s nothing better than going on the mooch down the county lanes for small game! It takes a few years to get your eye fully in but once there it’s very rewarding 😁 I’ll look forward to following your channel 👍
Steve Baker hiya Steve I'm new to this hobby but I'm getting into it I'm from UK also but from the south east bro I know people from York you guys all into air rifle shooting and shotgun sports etc I have just start with the slingshots what got me into it is I been making and shooting diy blowdart guns and was surprised how powerful and effective and silent and accurate and cheap it was to make and do so I came across some slingshot videos here on TH-cam and I been collecting and preparing forks I'm all set to attach my tapered bands soon and aquire 8 n 9 mm steel n lead balls ready for plinking I'm really excited to see how accurate I can be at 15 to 20 meters and what sort of power the 8 mm n 9 mm ball produce via theraband gold bands etc ..stay blessed bro PEACE
I just got all my slingshots from you and Nathen and mounted them. I ended up using a permanent marker to get the ball fully seated in the black rubber piece
Got my first flat band slingshot from top archery and it was missing all the hardware for the clamping system! BUT... I was able to tie a band on thanks to your awesome video that showed me how. Thanks Fowler
This is great info, Zach. Damn ! This whole time I've been putting the stoppers in the side facing me, so I never liked this style. Now I see you put them in on the opposite side !
@@FowlersMakeryandMischief thinking of buying my first “real” slingshot. What do you think about the scout lt limited. Is it worth the money? Do you think I will be able to learn well with it?
Thanks for the helpful video! FYI, with the Ocularis plugs, Simple Shot shows them inserting the plug first, then pressing the ball bearing in place. Maybe that’s a bit easier, I haven’t tried it.
That V your saying is wrong...30+ years experience with slingshot and A pattern is the right one. And your pouch installation is inside out..lol... Everything else on your video though is spot on.
I love your videos and you definitely know a lot more about slingshots than I do I mean I could be wrong but to me it seems like with the Oculus you should put the rubber grommet in the hole and then Make it lock with the ball bearing
Jason Whitford that’s what I thought when I saw this, I just bought this slingshot my first one and I’m going to try the stopper then lock it with the ball. Good eye
If you take the bearings out of the “stopper” on the ocularis, insert stopper first… then bearings. It’s much easier than forcing stopper with bearing. I shoot the axiom and that seems to work great for me. Not dissing how it’s being done by any means. Just something I do that works good as well. Lately I have been using looped tubes on my axiom. Total game changer vs flat bands.
I started shooting because of your video and I needed to get back into shape for bow hunting. I have been shooting for 6 months now and I’m loving it! Zachary Fowler you rock. Do you have a video for making a natural fork slingshot, and how to grind the forks flat with a notch?
Thank you, Fowler! I just received my Axiom Champ and was having a helluva time banding it. When you banded the Scout it became quite easy to understand the concept. I love this Axiom! I went on a hike this morning and practiced with my Daisy rocket with the wrist support. The weight difference between the Daisy and the Axiom is like night and day. I'll test the Axiom in my backyard and I may order the Ocularis model later today. In my day hike haversack I can load two or three Axioms vs one Daisy model. I never realized how heavy and cumbersome the Daisy's are until I received the Axiom.
I just now purchased from your site so I think I am ok to comment. , put the metal “not ammo” in to the middle of the grommet last. I researched enough and decided on purchasing yours. Thanx 4 ur time.
I don't get the optical difference between the "V" and the "A". I Just bound the endings outside of the pouch 🤷♂️ did i attached my flat bands wrong on the fork?
I finally figured it out. Turn the bands at an angle, where it creates a trough on top. This is called the "V". If the trough is underneath, then that's called an "A", or, an upside down "V", and there will be a much greater chance of hitting the forks when you fire.
Hello from Michigan................couple quick things...........would isoprol alcohol help lube rubber ? If not maybe put round metal pieces in after you get length ............they may just pop in after
Hello Fowler, have you tried to install those "grommets" by installing them without the ball bearing first, then once it's in place, tap or push in the ball bearing? It seems it might be a bit easier. I love these videos by the way, I never had anything like this when I was growing up, it would have made things a lot easier for me, but I guess trial and error is a good way to learn too, you learn what does and doesn't work, with a lot of pain along the way, lol, just what a growing boy needs. My mom would never buy me the slingshot that was in the store window a few blocks from where we lived, so I had to make my own. I don't know how many I made, trying to improve the design every attempt. Thanks for doing this, on behalf of all the kids, and geezers like me who still love all things plinking.
