    I got the 2023 GTS 300 grey (you forgot that one) with already 13.000km on it. I sure as hell hope it's ready for a long roadtrip because next summer i'll travel 2500km by road from the Netherlands to Huelva, Spain and from there I will take the boat to the Canary Islands. I'll be there for 3-4 weeks and visit multiple islands with my GTS . Can't wait!

      That trip sounds awesome. The Vespa will do it with ease. I would love to ride around Spain and the Canary Islands one day. I was in Spain a few months ago, absolutely loved it.

      I envy you sir. I love riding my small scooter but lately, riding 2 wheels in California is becoming very dangerous because there are so many drivers driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol even during the day. I still have my scooter but haven’t ridden it for 3 years now. Enjoy your long distance scooter tour. Ride safe, sir.

    You absolutely can tour on a GTS, I have 2016 GTS300 and in 2023 toured to Vespa World Event in Switzerland from the UK. We did 5 countries in ten days it ran perfectly and was very comfy. Also did the Lands End John O’Groats trip including the North Coast 500 with camping gear a total of 2500 miles, again it was perfect. I have a rack on the back and on the front so carry stuff is real easy. I’ve had 34 bikes from small to big but have now swapped over to the Vespa which is fun, cool and comes with an excellent social life / club scene. Try one, it may well surprise you!

    The olive green is a throwback to the first Vespas. I remember reading somewhere that after WW2 Piaggio stopped building bombers and started building scooters. Everything was hard to get hold of. They had surplus green camo paint so that's what they used.

    I've went from multiple Gold Wings since they were introduced, to cruisers, sport bikes, and scooters. I bounced between them each year. 2 years ago, I purchased the GTS300 HPE 2022 model. It was awesome. Then I tried the Primavera. I ride the freeways and take trips to other states on them. So after purchasing the 2022 Primavera, I went & bought an extra one 2023 last week.
    Yes, the rack on the rear makes it easier. But a Vespa can have a rack on the front. A rack in the center. A pouch on the glove box.
    The best thing for me is the ease of maintaining and basic repairs while traveling. And you are right about high speed eating the fuel.
    Not getting in a hurry got me 87 mpg (US) on the GTS and 99 mpg on the Primavera. Cruising with the big dogs on the freeway reduced it as well as not being an enjoyable ride. I dislike freeways anyhoo.

    I have had four GTS’s over the last ten years, one was stollen but thats another story. I carry a pillion a lot and buying a set of foot peg extenders is a must. My GTS now is a 75 anniversary addition and its basically a Super Tech, I agree about the instruments, I don’t really like them and miss the analogue instruments. I tour two up with mine and love it. In the 90’s I had big bikes and for me the Vespa beats them hands down.

      @@BikerTorque They put the pillions feet further back, more comfortable for the pillion and better for the rider. Watch out though as they can cost from 30 GBP and 100 GBP. @@josejpl69 basically singapore has a Certificate of Entitlement tagged to the bike which costs $10k as of now, making your bike “valid” for 10 years.
      Rode the xmax for a good 5 years but did not want to use up the coe fully, which still has value for another 5 years.. thus i used the “opportunity” to switch to the vespa.
      I’d probably be riding the xmax if not because of the dying coe. Its really a good bike. Easy to maintain! Mad good fuel efficiency and has an awesome sporty looks to it for a scooter. Definitely recommended!

    Overrated bike. Yes they have history with the mod movement in the UK but because of that there over-priced. The japenese have far better scooters and way cheaper, vespa relies more on its brand name, i mean you cant putva full face helmet under the seat, for that kinda money youd expect the thing to make your coffee and iron your shirt 🤣

    • @BikerTorque

    • @Phyoomz
      @Phyoomz 7 วันที่ผ่านมา +2

      I like the fact that they still look like scooters. Yes, Yamaha and Honda especially have bigger, more powerful and probably more comfortable scooters, but they look a lot more like proper bikes. If I'm getting a scooter, I want one that I can class up with my 3/4 helmet and possibly a suit with some oxfords. CLASS! lol
      That said, I'd never use one to go touring, and as far as freeways, it's great to know the option exists, but I'd generally avoid them.
