For the left side grip that requires glue, I used a method that I've been using for decades on my mountain bike grips. Instead of glue on the inside rubber, I use rubbing alcohol which is slick until it evaporates; then it won't budge. Just let the grips sit for an hour or so. The next time you have to remove it, just spray some WD-40 in the opening edge and twist the grip until it works its way in and the grip slides off. Once off, you can remove the WD-40 with rubbing alcohol and a rag (brake cleaner spray if it's a bear) and use the grip again later. For those who really want glue, hair spray does great and doesn't make a mess. Very sticky.

Watched this video and then changed mine out in about 30mins. Thanks so much!! One thing I noticed was mine didn't have any grease on the right hand throttle so I didn't put any on.

Hahaha opened up my throttle and yup one tiny little brass piece is missing. The one connected to the throttle had one the other cable didnt!! . I know I didnt drop it cause the cable was still in place!! I went to Harely and bought two new ones just to be safe!! $4 bucks apiece!! Cant even find one with a metal detector since they are brass LOL

When you loosen the screws that hold brake lever, can a guy pivet your brake handle a little?? I just ordered some grips from harley but I wanna tilt or pivet my clutch and brake lever just a smidge. Thanks

Well I put the same grips on my 02 RK and it went very well except for the brake lever switch, I didn't even think to look at how the brake handle fits back into place and now my brake light stays on. I took it apart several time but right when I snug the brake clamp to the handle bars it activates ( deactivates the switch ) now. I tried everything I know, the brake switch boot looks torn and i don't know if there is a spring that came out or not. the switch works but activates as soon as i do my final tightening of the brake lever to the handle bars. Any suggestions? Thanks.
@@marcusulery628 So what I ended up doing was add some superglue mixture to the handle part that pushes in the switch when not pulling the lever and it worked. If you mix super glue with baking soda it creates a solid form that is real strong and can be filed.

Well 1st of all you should wedge something between the brake lever and the master cylinder to prevent breaking the tip of the brake light switch. It's a t27 and a t25. Throttle cable adjustment is wrong. I have never put assembly lube inside a Throttle grip either.

Hey listen man I just got a 2017 Electra glide ultra classic and my throttle is a little bit wonky like I can give it a little bit of throttle and it does nothing but then a little bit more and I get too much throttle so I’m thinking that my twist grip throttle sensor is going out and needing replacement so I’m gonna watch your video man. I hope you’re doing OK over there in the sunny state Where the normal people live. God bless you brother. No, there is no adjustment. and the flyby wire is pretty basic. Take apart the throttle and you see what you got there. Very plain and simple no cable no nothing. Well I put the same grips on my 02 RK and it went very well except for the brake lever switch, I didn't even think to look at how the brake handle fits back into place and now my brake light stays on. I took it apart several time but right when I snug the brake clamp to the handle bars it activates ( deactivates the switch ) now. I tried everything I know, the brake switch boot looks torn and i don't know if there is a spring that came out or not. the switch works but activates as soon as i do my final tightening of the brake lever to the handle bars. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The switch is in need of replacement.... went out on my 07 road king a few years ago also
@@marcusulery628 So what I ended up doing was add some superglue mixture to the handle part that pushes in the switch when not pulling the lever and it worked. If you mix super glue with baking soda it creates a solid form that is real strong and can be filed.
Use Vaseline instead of grease it might help with the stickiness might be a chemical reaction ?

Well 1st of all you should wedge something between the brake lever and the master cylinder to prevent breaking the tip of the brake light switch. It's a t27 and a t25. Throttle cable adjustment is wrong. I have never put assembly lube inside a Throttle grip either.

Hey listen man I just got a 2017 Electra glide ultra classic and my throttle is a little bit wonky like I can give it a little bit of throttle and it does nothing but then a little bit more and I get too much throttle so I’m thinking that my twist grip throttle sensor is going out and needing replacement so I’m gonna watch your video man. Is there any find adjustments in these electric twist throttle’s like can I adjust the lag out from the gear lash? Is there any adjustments for that?
No, there is no adjustment. and the flyby wire is pretty basic. Take apart the throttle and you see what you got there. Very plain and simple no cable no nothing.
