Great seeing a Rav4 in the demos for once! These seem like the closest competitor to Diode Dynamics' Elite Series fogs - curious to see how they stack up. Also, wondering if the beam pattern shifts vertically or not when changing the colors.
Beam distribution does not change between White and Yellow, it retains identical beam distribution. Elite is generally about 23% brighter at beam center Zone D but horizontal spread is limited at 80° vs XB Evo fog is about 100° and outer lower angle (35L/R 4.5D) intensity allocation is enhanced for driver field of view width comfort. Elite F2 however, is as wide 100° as XB Evo fog equivalent model 106° DD Elite F2 fog They also have backlight Elite Distribution character is bit off tho, e-max position is at lower end of zone D somehow, near field peakiness somewhat disrupt relative width strength to my preference. But it does its job at very high intensity, and it is wide. Elite is SAE F3 design, XB evo is SAE/ECE F3 About White light color, Elite is about 6000+K white with blue chromatic aberration, XB Evo is 5500~5700K white, blue is blend off, yellow is about same selective yellow range. Depend on what quality you are looking for in fog lamp determine which is better choice for you. Hope this information helps your decision!
@@yoshiishida6577 Thanks for the comparison rundown, Yoshitaka. So you've decided to sacrifice a little bit of photometric intensity in favor of more width, I take it?
@@contagiousingenuityagency5273 In short, you can say so but more like I didn't particularly worry about much of beam center zone D intensity. I had other objective far more valuable as fog function in my philosophy. I made good refined fog light , not to please selected singular point photometric intensity number nor wall shot picture impression. What I focused on was most refined distribution balance proper fog light. That satisfy both SAE and ECE F3. Zone D photometric intensity of fog light really isn't critical as fog lamp. Most of low beam distribution covers near field volume plenty adequate, what low beam cannot spare too much focus is near field width comfort. This is bit of challenge way of explain, but judging beam spread by horizontal degree is not sufficient. The reason I said enhanced intensity allocation to 35L/R 4.5D relative to zone D was because driver view width comfort does not linearly corresponds to on the wall width impression, or maximum H axis spread in degree numbers alone. There is very specific illumination mapping contribute to driver view comfort I pursued. How to allocate useful relative strength to where it matters was highlight of this optics I would say. 106° spread potency sound amazing as lamp, it's not bad thing to boast about, but reality is, bumper cutout could block some of beam spread in not too few application I believe. Then giving widest spread number also wasn't my priority either. Within driver view recognizable illumination field, how to allocate most effective illumination mapping as fog lamp was my strong first focus. And I also know it's likely hard for many to understand in depth concept, so I set "very wide beam, ample bright" in simplified front face term. I am very confident, distribution is great, and plenty/correctly bright for fog. Hope someone find value in this optical design!
@@contagiousingenuityagency5273 That was not up to me, hopefully someone from team answer question. Any technical/optical question, I am with most information.
About 20° wider than Banger wide beam, intensity at beam center is about 85% of 2Banger NCS wide beam. But do not to get confused by e-max value comparison, what fog needs is outer lower angle intensity stretch, near beam center intensity numbers are really just for overly simplified showcasing method, not that important. It's about regulation upper limit of ECE F3, plenty strong and properly strong Banger wide beam is offroad wide beam that is OK to use as fog when aimed carefully, not ideal as fog lamp. (2 Banger NCS still meet SAE J583 F3 actually, so it's still very much decent/reasonable as fog, just not as refined as XB Evo fog.) XB Evo fog is designed as proper fog lamp to begin with. Different class. XB Evo fog Distribution is highly refined to the max
@@michaelburman7404 Not sure how effective or convenient to do so, it's not impossible you could make mount if you want, but those are designed as direct fit to selected popular OE fog replacement. So effort you will need gonna be same as trying to fit some OE fog to be universally mounted.
Just letting you know, I found the foglights I think will work on the front of my motorhome. And I would like to buy them from you, but every time I go to the Revolution website there is a banner that appears across the screen. This is your banner on your website, and for safety I don't shop at websites that do things that I didn't cause to happen, or that I didn't ask for. So when I can shop at your website without banners rudely popping up in my face, I will explore lighting options there. Today I will be making my purchase somewhere else.
I bought fog lights that have both light function from a different company. The white light are crazy bright BUT when switched to yellow light, they are directed very low. So, to see dual fog light color with same directional light output, IM SOLD
Sadly there is not a fitment for your truck on these just yet, assuming you meant the 19' Silverado 1500? We do have other options for you on our website though, and they're on sale for black friday!
We have a ton of stuff for your truck! Headlights, tail lights, fog lights, third brake lights... we got it all! Check here: www.headlightrevolution.com/buyer-guide-by-vehicle/2017+Chevrolet+Silverado_2500_HD
I checked your guys site and I even entered my vehicle information, but unfortunately I didn't see these fog headlights for my current vehicle. My current vehicle is a 2017 Toyota Highlander
Banger pods will still be brighter since they're a dedicated off-road light, think of these as super high premium OE style LED fog lights, whereas moving into the Banger category is off-road lighting which definitely packs a punch
The two listings you see are the same - both are made for the 4Runner. One listing is listed as Toyota (oval) fogs whereas the 2nd listing is 4Runner specific. They both include the same part #s - LF092 - Evo Fogs (White) LF093 - Evo+ Fogs (White/Yellow)
ive never found foglights useful in fog or snow, the only time ive found them useful in bad weather is when they DO have a bad beam pattern because they act like small flood lights that light up road markers and street signs, i think thats how alot of people use factory fog lights i put a set of led fog lights with the beam pattern you suggested in a touareg i had and i found it totally useless, made no difference in bad weather at all
Fog lights are designed to provide better visibility in low-visibility conditions by cutting through fog or snow close to the ground, which is why they have a specific beam pattern. It sounds like you might benefit from upgrading your headlights for better overall visibility. With the right combination of headlights and fog lights, you’ll see the real advantages of how they're meant to work together!
Here's what I see, or don't see. Light right in front of the vehicle. Those shots of stock foglights appear to light up the area directly in front of the vehicle. The morimoto fog light shots don't. I also have the morimoto xb hybrid headlights in my ram 2500 and they do not light up the road in front of the vehicle. something morimoto maybe can address.
Unfortunately I have a 2000 Camry LE that didn't come with fog lights. I would like to add them if I could some that would fit the bumper. So far nothing. Cool white lights aren't the best thing in fog.
Just bought me a set on black friday.
I cant wait till they arrive!
