This video is for educational purposes only and may show street-use content with products that may not be DOT-compliant for use on public roads. The video is not intended to imply vehicle-specific street legality. LED and HID bulbs are street legal in the USA for fog light use and not in low beam or high beam headlights because they are not compliant with DOT / FMVSS108. When looking for on-road-use headlight upgrades we recommend DOT-compliant headlight housings, not bulb replacements. Certain specialty vehicles strictly limited to off-street use and not having DOT registration or license plates may use these products exclusively off-streets. International street legality varies by country. For detailed clarification of on-street use, go to www.headlightrevolution.com/s...

We Do Lighting Better Because We Test! - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
I just wish people would listen and learn.
What about Philips? Osram? It feels like you chose average products so that your Morimoto and GTR bulbs compared favorably. My Osram Nighbreaker LED are probably the best LED bulbs I've ever bought. May I suggest not being so obvious when advertising your own products?
Right, Hikari bulbs are absolute beasts. I have been running them for years without issues. The new titanova hikari is an absolute monster in brightness.
Thanks for letting us know. Will check em out
Thank you for your comment. I will be checking these out as well.
According to some simple research, those 2 Phillips and osram aren't producing as much light as these others.
Luxster Punisher is the best bulb in the world😂
I bought the GTR 2.0 bulbs for my headlights and foglights on my hhr and im so happy i did.....The light output and beam pattern is amazing....I was constantly getting flashed by other drivers so i got a headlight alignment and no more people are flashing me....Worth every penny. 👍👍
Thanks for sharing!
There are so many good LEDs now days, when running this series again please consider brands such as Hikari Titanova, Auxbeam GX, Novsight N60 and Diamond Vision F9
The GTR Ultra II is only 42 watts while the Novsight N60 is 66 watts. This difference is a major reason why the N60s are so much brighter than the GTR Ultra II's.
auxito is a good brand too, i run them in all my cars. recently, i've replaced my factory hid in the mustang with auxito's led & its a lot brighter
Luxster punisher, novsight n60 and diamond vision f9 are the 3 top dogs for brightness. Punisher being number 3, Dv f9 being number two, novsight n60 being 1. I know the titanova isnt far behind those but runs cooler than all i mentioned. And they keep very good light after time.
@@MoparPentastar efficiency of the cree led chip has a lot to do with it also. I have diamond vision f9 which draw like 79w while the novsight is like 66w and the novsight still put out just a tiny bit more light output. The w is a good indicator of what a lights going to do but until tested it's hard to know for sure. In my opinion the best value is novsight being that they make the most light, are cheaper than a lot of lights that don't perform as well and aren't the biggest power draw or hottest I've seen tested.
@@jettangeles2707My auxito 9005s didn’t work so well. One fell apart in the housing. They had been installed for about 2 weeks when it occurred. I’m trying to stay away from that company.
@5:12 100% agree about the DRL mode on Xenon Depot 9005. I too tested this Xenon Depot 9005 on one of my videos that show how awesome the DRL mode is. Really wish HR introduce a 9005 bulb that dim as Xenon Depot 9005in DRL mode and brighter than GTR Ultra2 in constant 12V mode.
It would have been interesting if you included the Diode Dynamic’s SL-1 in this comparison.
Love my gtr ultra 2's, even have to have them pointed down a smig bit because of how much light they bounce back off of reflective signs. But great to turn night into day when coming down mountain roads in the middle of the night which have zero lights. And those that question the lifetime warranty, it was as easy as emailing HR, and had a new bulb in my hands 4 days later!! Not to mention being top performers and one of the oldest on the market now, they got it right !
Yes, I put the GTR Ultra 2 bulbs, 9005 and 9006, into my Jeep Grand Cherokee. After wasting money on cheaper bulbs I went with GTR. It took a little bit to get them aimed properly, but what a difference they made. That was $400 well spent.
Thanks for the video. I just went out and picked up a set of the morimoto's 👍
Good choice!
The CSP minis are good bulbs. I finally got some time on them. It's an easy way to get good bright white color in a compact package, and if you need to use halogen spares, the mismatch isn't bad either.
Will the S-V.4 work for a 2017 F150 XLT? I’ve seen your past videos about the Mini in the low beams, but just wondered.
This helped me a lot, very comprehensive and easy to understand!
Glad it helped!
Hi, very nice video and it’s more informative. Whether these bulbs can be used in a reflector housing? Can you tell me which H1 LED bulb would be the best for reflector housing.
Was wondering if you could recommend low beams leds for a Porsche Cayman 981? İ think the main issue is that the bulbs will be enclosed in an air tight pod, which I feel will cause over heating.
Any advise would be appreciated
Thanks
For comparison, what is the lux and lumen output of new OEM 9005 halogen bulbs?
On my way over to the website now. Thanks for an outstanding and informative video.
You're welcome!
I had Sealights Xenower X1 H11 low and 9005s highs in a 2016 Colorado. They were super bright compared to OEM. I was so happy with color, output, and cutoff pattern. Like a true HID Xenon. The problem was on low beam I continually got flashed as if i was on Highs. To the point where I had incidents where someone swerve at me or pull off, get behind me and turn their highs on behind me. It got to a point where I HAD to swap the lows and ended up hearing Sealight had a recall on certain bulbs for too bright output. I will say they were very well made and still ran the 9005s for over 1yr before trading truck. My .02 anyway. I would buy again or lean toward the Morimotos after seeing this. thks
great comment
That's because they're trash..... no cutoff line.... just scattered light, blinding everyone. Bulbs like these are the reason we must now agree to a disclaimer that they are for off-road use only.
Sounds like they were not aimed properly.
sv4's in my 2009 tacoma 4.0 is amazing. All I can say. They are so good I don't need brights. Dims are enough. seriously.
I have X-7SEVEN X-Apollo 9005 bulbs in my Nissan Maxima high beams. Been installed for over a year now and they work very well.
How's the brightness on them? I'm a bit sketchy on the numbers that they're saying
@@finn3872Sorry for the late reply. I do absolutely love them. Can easily see 300-400 metres, so they are very bright.
Um, the S-V.4 support DRL mode, I know because I bought them from you guys in early 2019 because you said they were the best at the time AND they'd work with high beam as DRL, and they did indeed work just fine in DRL mode on my '09 Civic.
I would like to add though that they don't work with my current '08 Dodge Avenger without turning on and off randomly. I bought capacitors for them, but it's well over 2 feet from the headlights to any flat metal surface to attach the capacitors to.
Thank you for posting because I have an 08 chrysler sebring which is basically the avenger and was searching for the best bulbs to get for the price
I guess I got lucky with my $8 led headlight bulbs. They actually are at least 3x brighter than the OEM halogens. Best $8 I ever spent
How did you determine that ?
I have Hikari 2023 Future bulbs in my projector low beams, and DDM Tuning Saber 55W ProX Accu/V2 bulbs in my reflector high beams. They're the top dogs on the market right now, especially for projectors. I would love to see them included in the next comparison because I think they would put up a better fight. Thanks.
I have the Accu/V2 as high beams; they're amazing! Bright, 4500k (worth it IMO), easy to install, nil issues so far
I have the Hikari Titanova and they're insanely bright.
Noted, we've definitely tested some Hikari bulbs in the past and it did not end well 😢
@@HeadlightRevolutionforget Hikari. We need to see ddm saber in the next vid. Gtr lighting ultra 2 vs ddm saber. The best 2 in the game! A prime time showdown.
DDM tuning is excellent.
I can see yall are putting these bulbs into a projector. Which projector for a 9005 bulb are y'all using?
2018 Chevy Suburban Premier with factory Osram Factory HID. I want to convert to LED , someone told me there's a Plug and play conversion kit available , Can you help , which one would you recommend ? Thanks
Good video. I have been thinking about upgrading to the GTR CSP mini. I know there may be better choices; however, I like the fact the CSP mini is basically the same size as a halogen bulb.
They are fantastic. I've had them in my daily for three years and they're still great.
That's awesome to hear!
It was the lifetime warranty that got me to buy thr GTR ultra. I made the right choice. I needed to use that warranty and it was so easy. I love GTR lighting!
Good choice!
Hello, I own a 2001kia Spectra. It has 4 headlights, two individuals lowlights and two high- ends headlights.
Wich of these three light bulbs would you recommend for y 2001 Kia.
1) Moroimoto 2 Stroke 3.0
2) Xtreme LED Pro 9005
3)Ultra Serie 2 LED by GTR.
These are my three picks.
I want to thanks all you guys for the excellent service you have given to us...
Great video! Very informative!
Thank you!
i actually own a set of gtr ultra led lamps. They are not the brightest but are very good. I ran through 4 different sets of Amazon led headlight lamps and was not impressed at all. These are quality lamps.
can you review the bevinsee v55 series?
Great review!
Wondering if you could do a video on LED lights in a halogen housing. My specific case is an f150 XLT.
We've done a ton already! What year F-150?
@@HeadlightRevolution 2016!
I bought MORIMOTO TWO STROKE 2.0 H11 low &9005 hi, back just over three years ago. The difference especially in my 2019 Colorado WT with reflector type headlights and as actually astounding! I kid you not! If anyone knows how bad the stock halogen headlight are in the Colorado, these LED’s literally turn dim headlights on a dark road into DAY up to 65’ in low when aimed properly and set accordingly to directions. As they were also the only ones with a mounting adjustment to be sure the led elements are face east-west side to side, to avoid blinding oncoming traffic! But it’s the high beams that really light up a dark highway further down that you can read the signs! In a straight dark local wide open 4 lane plus highway the high beams light up all four lanes and sides of the road to the tops of med hight trees out for at least a half mile!!! However pricey they are they are worth it. Only just the other day the drivers side has lost half its illumination, so I re-installed the halogen from original and that’s still not as bright on the road! Because of the price I’m wondering if there’s a warranty?
Yes, of course there is! Reach out, we'd be happy to help - sales@headlightrevolution.com or 218-755-5200
HR...I bought a set of Morimoto bulbs for my Ford Explorer. Wow amazing. Thanks for your videos ! But I have a question for you... My light housing has a rubber dust cover that covers the rear of the bulb. Should I remove these covers to allow fresh air to get to the bulb, or is it ok to keep the covers on the housing ?
We definitely suggest keeping the dust cover on!
Can you guys test auxito led bulbs, I bought some I think they’re fairly good they’re not obviously going to be as good as SV-4 and GTR lighting but I would like to see what you guys think.
We can add them to a list for future testing!
The DDM Pro V1 is brighter and half the price of the GTR Ultra 2. The DDM 55W ProX Accu/V2 is the same price and blows it out of the water. Should've included that one too considering all the good reviews it has.
What does DDM stand for?
I have S-V.4 amber high beams and love them. If you're into racing, compare putting these bulbs in a reflector housing versus whatever projector/HID assembly. When you consider how easy it is to refurbish a lens, how easy these are to install, how little power they consume, and how simple/lightweight reflector housings tend to be, it's a no-brainer. The PerfectFit 9006 is also an excellent bulb.
Glad you like the SV-4, it's one of our favorites!
Which one do you recommend for halogeen reflector headlights ?
Hikari titanova you will thank me later.
Hey thank you so much for this video can you please do a review of Auxito H11 led please thank you
We can try!
So all these bulbs have dual beam function? Been having trouble with finding leds that work as both drl & high beam
9005 is a single filament bulb, but can be used a low/high beam in a projector application that uses a shield.
I tried the Scoparc 9006 low beams in a couple vehicles with reflectors and they were quite a bit brighter than stock halogens. Their 9005 as a high beam was also quite bright but they did not work as a DRL, even with one of their drivers. The H11s in a projector are not bright at all and i works look into something else.
Is the GTR ultra 2 a good bulb replacement for a 2022 Chevrolet Silverado hd 2500?
Yes
Excellent video Good job
Thank you!
I’ll stick with my OEM light, thank you very much. Never fail me.
Nothing wrong with OEM Halogen lights!
When it comes to beam pattern, doesn't the fixture make a difference? The pattern I get out of a 18 Subaru is going to be different than a 97 Astro.
That is true, but all beam patterns will be DOT-regulated and approved when using an OEM headlight.
Saludos desde Venezuela
test these for auxbeam, bullvision and Philips leds. model d3s
Good suggestion!
Should test out lasfit wondering how they stack up
So can these be installed as low and high beam lights? Or do I need separate bulbs..(I’m new to this y’all don’t judge me y’all lol😩)
Depends on the vehicle! Send us your year/make/model and we'll help!

Without seeing any review instinctively I thought that the bulbs with 4 or more leds around will mimic the best halogen bulbs.
Didn't thought I would be so wrong.
We're here to help educate! 😎
I replaced the light bulbs on my 2011 toyota avalon limited with LED bulbs. The low beam is functioning properly. However, the daytime running light which doubles as the high beam is now flickering.
Why do you think that's happening?
Pretty common with LEDs in locations that are DRLs shared with high beams. You need a PWM Anti-Flicker module - www.morimotohid.com/morimoto-2stroke3-anti-flicker-harnesses?quantity=1
Sir could you guide me which led bulb is use in low beam 9005 is for high beam applications which bulb give best output in low beam
My car is Honda civic 2005 eagle eyes
You should look into the SV4, Morimoto 2stroke, or GTR Lighting Ultra 2 LEDs!

I own a 2018 Kia Sportage; my concern is the bulbs with a wire and ballast will not fit because of the dust cap that screws into place is solid plastic. If I wanted to purchase the Morimoto bulbs, there's no way that I can see of putting that cover back in place with that unit, am I to just leave that cap off? Is that the recommendation? Is there another solution? Thank you for this video, I found it very informational.
Two solutions here -
1. Use a drill bit to create a hole in the OEM dust cover, then use the provided grommet on the HID kit to re-seal the headlights.
2. Buy an extended dust cap cover: www.headlightrevolution.com/rubber-housing-caps-A-HCAP_2?quantity=1
I have a 2017 Kia sportage and added Led bulbs. I did buy larger dust caps for them but i did not need them. It all depends on the brand you get.
I bought two beam Philips LEDs for my 2013 ford focus and when I installed them they worked for about a second and then shut off. I talked to a person at Philips he said I must have touched the led which I didn’t but when installing them they did hit the casing. But not on the chip part. Would you know what I did wrong
Do they flicker at all? It's possible you need a PWM Module - www.headlightrevolution.com/gtr-lighting-pwm-hid-kit-modules-ACC.PWM5202.MOD_2?quantity=1
No they come on when i turn the key on but when I start my car they shut off. I talked to a mechanic and he said that I need a anti flicker something or another I don't quite remember what he said. I installed led hibeams and they work but not the led low beams. I'll need to buy some better leds because the Auxito leds are not very good. But the mechanic uses pro performance leds in our company vans which are dodge caravans. @@HeadlightRevolution
what the best led bright for a ford explore 2015 please and thank you
We haven't done an HR-Tested on the Explorer yet, but we can add it to the list!
Have you tested Osram night breaker LED
We have not tested their LED bulbs, only HID.
Are modern LED bulbs like these brighter than HIDs from 5-10 years ago?
Hid is still king when it comes to brightness
@@hammadialfakhri You're correct. They've since added a video comparing HID and LED in a mustang and HID was brightest.
What about the Diode Dynamics SL1 9005?
SL2 coming soon?

Back in March 2020 I tried the Sealight Scoparcs in my 03 Silverado for the low beams, fog lights, & hi beams and to this day they're still going strong without any issues. Decent output, beam pattern, & cutoff and they don't glare in other drivers' faces. I drive 45 mins to work every day before the sun comes up so they get plenty of use. Would I say they're the absolute best? No, of course not. But they're certainly far from the worst and after over 3 years trouble free I'd say I got my money's worth out of them. Still considering trying out the Morimoto or GTR Lighting ones though. I would like my forward lights to be little brighter on the road lol
Definitely go for Morimoto or GTR when it comes to low beams or high beams!
Im running Fahren lights in my 09 avalanche and they are the best ive ever come across. Id like to see how they stack up if you ever do a "round 2".
We can add them to the list!
What are the Philips and Brightsource LED bulbs like?
Philips is an industry leader, so I'm sure their quality would be decent but not over the top. We can't speak for Brightsource.
@@HeadlightRevolution Could you add them to your next batch of tests?
I’ve seen LED upgrades not work on LX470 due to their DRL setup … apparently the DRLs run thru high beams dimmed … sounds like the Morimoto addresses that, no?
Yes, all you need is the DRL Anti-Flicker harness!
Best light i had is H.I D 4500k bulbs with 55w ballast
Am planning to upgrade as LED for ecosport, suggest me how much lux may i choose
You shouldn't make a decision based on lux, you should choose based on bulb quality, performance, and beam pattern. We suggest the GTR Ultra 2, SV4, or Morimoto 2stroke 4.0
@@HeadlightRevolution we are from India.. above brand name I cannot get here... please advise me with parameters or specifications.... will buy similar as per your advice

Lol I have those bad bulbs installed in my car right now. I can confirm you cannot see a thing. Im currently driving on the highway with 2 sofirn flashlights duck taped to my mirror and they are working wonderfully.
😅😅
Can you use an LED bulb in a reflector housing without having the light scatter everywhere and blinding everyone?
I have a 2009 Accord which uses the 9005 bulb as the DRL and the high beam and I want something brighter but don’t want to be that guy blinding everyone with the DRL.
You can! Check out this video: th-cam.com/video/NbfAyqVgVdM/w-d-xo.html
Have you looked at Torchbeam? What do you think?
We might have years ago, but not recently.
@HeadlightRevolution
I'll have to look.
I've been buying them for years, but I'm always interested in real tech comparisons...
I hope the Morimoto 2.0 is made for the 2016 Ram Power Wagon.
Yes, they will work with your Ram!
i have morimotto.and havent senn my match for years
We love the Morimoto LEDs!
can you please review VLEDS bulbs
We can add it to the list!
I always miss information if these lighting upgrades are Street legal. I would love to upgrade but don't want to risk getting ticketed for it...
HID and LED bulbs are street legal in the USA for Fog Light use only. Not compliant with DOT / FMVSS108 and not street legal in the USA for Headlights. Legal for off-road use in Snowmobile and ATV headlights and off-road racing use only auxiliary or forward lighting. International street legality varies by country.
Looking for information on torch LEDs
Can't say we're familiar with that brand of LEDs.
Commercial vehicles need this too. Please consider nagging videos for commercial drivers as well. Like Peterbilt, International, Freightliner & Volvo. Thanks
No lasfit?
We've tested Lasfit in the past with hit and miss results - this video is our top recommendations.
I wonder what is the best halogen bulb LUX gonna be.
Hmm, that would be an interesting test!
Why did you test these in a bi-halogen projector? As far as I can tell, the vast majority of 9005 high beam applications are reflectors.
How is the 9005 a low beam? It only has 2 wires, at least all the vehicles I have only have 2 wires on the bulb (from 1999 suburban to 2018 Ford explorer) and it doesn't come on with low beam. All of the vehicles I own except the explorer use 9006 low beams.
Also they do not interchange in the housings
It is not common to find 9005 as the low beam, but there are some OEM manufacturers that do use the 9005 bulb as the low beam.
I bought the marsauto . They worked amazingly on the way to Ohio , on the way back back home they had lost close to 50% to 60% of its brightness .
Dang, that's really disappointing!
I want to make a purchase do you ship in Philippines?
We do ship worldwide.
You took all the shitty bulbs to compare against Sv4,GTR,Morimoto.
You forgot, Osram, Philips, Novsight, Hikari,Auxbeam . All these bulbs come with bright CSP chips with perfect light pattern.
I saw a few separate aliexpress listings claiming to be 220,000 and 2,000,000 Lumens. It seems the sellers are trying to 1up each other in an intense who can claim the highest lumen battle.
Nahh I still keep buying the morimoto hid from this guys and hid are 100x better that any led on my originals sierra Denali projectors
I've got a 02 GMC the headlights are absolute trash 😆 definitely need to upgrade to either the GTRs or the Morimotos both look way better than my current lights (or lack there of).
Both GTR or Morimoto would be a huge upgrade!
How about OX beam?
We can add them to a future video!
I wish I knew the Sv4 had a 2 year warranty. I had one die after 9months.
Definitely should've reached out man!
I’m surprised that you don’t know why you’d need a glove. They keep dirt/salt/etc off the bulb.
We've mentioned this in previous videos!
All of these are useless for me. I use custom lights with dustcaps (ANZO USA Halo housing for 2011 Camry) that also have adapter cables that run though the dustcap (from the bulb inside the housing to the car on the outside of the dustcap) that go from H1 and H7 to my factory H11 and 9005. Guess I'm just screwed.
One thing you DO NOT talk about is whether any of these are Street Legal or DOT Compliant. That is 100% the most important! Could you make a list of Compliant bulbs?
HID and LED bulbs are street legal in the USA for Fog Light use only. Not compliant with DOT / FMVSS108 and not street legal in the USA for Headlights. Legal for off-road use in Snowmobile and ATV headlights and off-road racing use only auxiliary or forward lighting. International street legality varies by country. This usage regulation is not unique to this item. All LED and HID bulbs from all other brands, regardless of marketing claims, are prohibited from street use in halogen headlights in the USA.
Some people can never understand
I managed to finda bulb that is worse than the "led headlight" 6 sided bulb, the Stonebanks 360 degree bulb
Maybe we can find a pair too 😂
If 9005's are high beams, I wonder why they use them for low beam projectors like my 2018 Elantra? lol.
I guess you know that the oils on your finger tips will shorten the life of the bulb, if you touch the reflective surface of the LED bulb? That is why you get the glove.
Dang my 9005 is for low beam :(
Is it just me, but it seems like all the bulbs with low output and poor quality are all from Amazon ? Seems like Amazon is a dumping ground for sub par and low quantity junk.

What about fahren?
Believe we'd tested them in a previous video 🤔
No Fahren? I am disappoint.
Are the Fahren bulb a good light
@@raymond5569 the last year Termitor was one of the best. The current Termitor is just OK.
When I was surfing on your website, I saw “Xtr HID Kit” and “GTR Ultra 2.00 Led”
Which One has most effective lighting for fog light?
Could you share your opinion pls?
I trust your knowledge.Thank you…
For fog light applications, LED is usually ideal! HIDs can cause heat damage in small applications.
@@HeadlightRevolution thank youu so much 🌟💫
This test missed the obvious for comparison. It should have tested at least a couple of premium 9005 halogen bulbs.
We'll definitely keep that in mind for next time!
These prices are too high
You get what you pay for when it comes to quality 👀
I just want to get a bright enough LED to see clearly ahead of me without blinding any other drivers. These overly bright bulbs could be and should be outlawed for safety reasons.
Nobody ever does a low beam courtesy switch anymore. Just blind the oncoming traffic and from behind as well....
Not a word about color rendering or color frequency? "Bright" is in the eye of the beholder & high frequency "temperature" (blue end of the spectrum) seems "bright" because it over stimulates the eye causing night blinding & poor depth of field. Always question the concept of quantity vs quality.
Please review longer wavelength LEDs that are better for seeing non-reflective "natural" objects.
We have done testing videos with Kelvin color too, explaining why 3000-5000K may work better than the 6000K+ lights on the market! Lower kelvin temperature is great for cutting through inclement weather, and not having as much light reflection.
I got the hikari led low beams but I kept my original halogen 9005 high beams. When I'm driving at night and turn on my brights. I can't even tell they were turned on. My led low beams are at least twice as bright as my oem halogen high beam. So what are you even talking about guy? Are you a paid shill for the halogen headlight bulb manufacturer taking a huge hit from the led bulb popularity?
@kyrieEleisonMaranatha: @KyrieEleisonMaranatha Your experience is as expected. but, this is not about halogen vs LED and obviously does not promote old school halogen bulbs for auto applications. It is about wise choice of lumen output & most important how color rendering/frequency of this input energy is interpreted by the brain. This is eye physiology, color rendering & human brain development. LED chips are made in a huge range of "colors" /frequencies. The frequency of a stock halogen bulb is 4300k, but have usually have lower lumen output of a similar 4300k "LED" of GREATER lumen output. The high frequency 6000k+ simply "appear bright" & make a manmade reflective object grab your eye's attention while your eyes are so dazzled by that you will miss earth tone colored elk standing in the ditch & poor the depth of field hiding threats in shadow areas.. The trendy blue/high frequency LED is a silly marketing opportunity that appeals to "dim" ideas; just as a crow will bring a shinny metal object back to the nest to feed to it's starving chicks.
@@123thekman123 most new cars come with led headlights now. They are so bright you have to drive around with the brights on just to see. There are a couple led brands that are focused solely on producing lights in the 3500-4500k range. I've seen them and I much prefer the warmer amber color over the blue white light. However in certain applications like city driving white light is supreme. But dark country roads amber color is supreme. Because white led needs things to reflect off of.
