Why are VW assuming that when I as a customer get an EV - then my eyesight increases rapidly so its ok with microscopical gauge clusters? For me thats a total showstopper...In Skoda Kodiaq for example they have supergood gauges in front of the steering wheel where it belongs...Is there some sort of report that have given auto manufacturers the impression that customers of EVs dont want or need gauges to see speed and similar info...Answered often I guess by heads up display...But for me I want nice and good gauges...So the brands that deliver that will have me as a customer when i go for EV.
Model Y refresh will have some work to do against this. Especially if they really move forward with some of their "enhancements" like removal of stalks like in model 3.
Meh, even the current model stands up to the Enyaq just fine. Still a higher charging speeds, still more range. Still better infotainment, better app. I will admit Skoda is catching up fast. It's just sad that Skoda is still playing with lots of optional gear. I'd hoped more manufacturers had followed Tesla's lead and started offering feature complete cars.
Cracking review as usual Thomas. Skoda is on a roll just now, just needs to stop using any gloss black, especially outside, as that will scratch as soon as you start driving or cleaning it!! Also like the Royal Green colour available on some models, but Coupe with lounge lighter colours would be my pick. Hope Subaru is taking notes.....

The main question is whether the roof of the coupé can be dimmed, like in the ID7, or if it comes with a blind. A shame the regular Enyaq cannot be had with a single body colour without the glossy black "sports" look.
I like the facelift and also the split tone variant. That they haven’t replaced the plasticky door handles is a small disappointment . Is there an updated hud option?
idk man, compared to other vw cars it might seem good, but comparing it to Škodas of the past for example my 2014 Octavia has felt covering in the rear door pockets and that was like 25 000 maybe. This is what 60 grand? And dont get me started on the new logo

We had 2022 Sportline 80x for 25k km. One of the best cars I owned. I had one grape with the car. The control panel for the panoramic sunroof. Nightmare to operate. It called every time to road assistance…. Waiting for the 7 seater suv from Skoda.
Very minor facelift. Tech seems to be the same than old one and for me front and back are now from different cars. New front looks good but they should have changed the back of the car somehow to more sleek too.

I really like the interior and exterior design of this - far more even than recent BMWs. I like the mix of technology and conventional switches and buttons too. I wish more manufacturers would do this. If you look at the latest airliners they all have the very latest technology and screens but the key flying controls are still physical switches, levers and dials as they are more intuitive and safer when flying. I’m really impressed with this model - a great option if you are looking for an EV. If they had a petrol one I’d be really interested!
Lets face the reality about 'frunks', due to crash protection measures, bonnets have become heavier. Unless the manufacturer provides assisted struts and a bonnet catch on the grill, I cannot see why a frunk is useful on a day to day basis. Maybe a place for the wheel jack?
As others have said - for the charging cable - especially when carrying dog in the back. Also useful for storing maintenance items - such as additive for screen wash, etc..
Looks better than original, great new colour. But, still no froot, still old cupholders, while all they need it to increase the size by 4mm. Still old seats without a proper massage. If I will be able to get Smart #5 with 100kWh battery for the same price I wont think twice.
Thomas, a wish: when you are fiddling around with the armrest show whether it is adjustable or not. I know it is rare but I use the armrest while driving. 😅
Battery is limiting the total output of the AWD like with ID 4motion. The GTX and the Sporty Skoda has a different battery using different chemicals, thus achieving higher power output.
Looks very nice, better than the current model. Nice alternative for the model Y, because lets be honest, you don’t want to be seen in a new Tesla now do you.
It’s absolutely stunning. Probably the best looking car in the segment especially the coupe. But that’s probably about it. All the competition moved on. Especially on range. Not gonna even talk about it in price. We were all waiting for 700km wltp for this price. I know the 86kwh battery only fits the meb+ but damm this is a big disappointment.
I am suprised how Skoda is inovating... Looks awesome. Specially buttons on steering wheel, buttons for air conditioning, real headup, just awesomee job Skoda! Compared to VW and Audi, heck.... If materials were little better Skoda would beat even Audi. My A6 C8 double screen setup sucks. Looks nice when you don't daily use the car.
I have the ID4 GTX but would be swapping to this next year, this is so much better. I need a big boot for large dogs and Tesla Model Y and similar vehicles had too low boot to roof measurement.

I genuinely love the front end, but why does it look like a van from the side? Somehow they’ve got the proportions wrong and I’m so disappointed because if it looked as good as the front end all over, I’d 100% be a buyer.
Still no panorama roof shutter somehow😢 I like the update coupe like lines and with the normal interior. Also I hope they did something with the damping it was horrible when I testddrived the sport coupe

They call it a SUV but really it more a Stationcar/wagoon/estate and thats fine with me. Could the better charge in 4x4 be beccause they use the motor controller for convertion or is that only in Kia/hyundai?
Personally, would like it to have 3 isofix points in the backseat. Only Audi q7 and some mpv type vehicles have this. Don’t think there is any electric cars that do it?

Add also the use of lettering instead of logos...
It should be better on roads, for those of us not in SUVs. It moves the lights below our direct eye level, so we don’t get blinded at night.
Also the position is very low so very easy to break in an minor incident. The price is also huge compared to a classic one
Upside is you don’t blind non suv cars and can still keep the design of headlines being up high

I wish Enyaq adopted Kodiaq/Superb Smart Dials. Although implementation of Smart Dials feels a bit cheap, the idea behind is brilliant.

I am sorry for this, but they made the better id4 design. The ID4 is relatively not sexy enough to compete. The front is really nice.

The umbrella packs to an oval shape. It's easy to slot it in as vertical oval

Should be standard on the regular Enyaq. On a sedan or coupé, there's no need for one. Aerodynamics will take care of it.
@@OutrunCid thought the current coupe version did have one (certainly seen them in the UK and definitely helps!)

I genuinely love the front end, but why does it look like a van from the side? Somehow they’ve got the proportions wrong and I’m so disappointed because if it looked as good as the front end all over, I’d 100% be a buyer.
It looks refreshingly great but it's misleading since the inside doesn't look like a van at all. All the downsides with 0 upsides.
Still no panorama roof shutter somehow😢 I like the update coupe like lines and with the normal interior. Also I hope they did something with the damping it was horrible when I testddrived the sport coupe
Much better looking than VW ID but very harsh ride on previous version I hope this one more plush ride as we dont need sportiness on family SUV…
77 kw is ridiculous. Top Chinese companies offer 100 by default and optionally up to 150 kw already.
More weight, less efficiency just so you don’t have to charge as often. Bigger isn’t always better for most people, 77 is more than enough for day to day driving for 99% of people

They call it a SUV but really it more a Stationcar/wagoon/estate and thats fine with me.
Could the better charge in 4x4 be beccause they use the motor controller for convertion or is that only in Kia/hyundai?
Personally, would like it to have 3 isofix points in the backseat. Only Audi q7 and some mpv type vehicles have this. Don’t think there is any electric cars that do it?
