There is a new version of the awesome sauce available that should work on all cabinets and firmware again. Check it out at this link archive.org/details/unzipped-full-build-2023-11-15-arc_202311
I have read the latest firmware 5.7.0 causes issues with Awesome Sauce. I would avoid upgrading until solutions are found. The Awesome Sauce Facebook group has more information and latest updates.
Can't find the group on Facebook, can I have the exact name of the group to find please, also is there a way to reverse the upgrade on the firmware as I'm on 5.7.0 and noticed I can't seem to launch the software to play the games
thunder bob please do a part two of this video . we need to know the order in which we apply other updates and fixes . like fbneo, Nintendo famicom jutebox themes etc etc
Thanks for the content I am going to try this on my 1.1 running Coin Ops. I am mostly arcade and console-based and don't need a huge library or games that need a lot of customization to work. I would love to see a pre-sorted build pack of this nature.
I went thru the whole process and everything seems pretty fine. Found out some games in Atomiswave collection (like Metal Slug 6 or Hokuto no ken) aren't working.
I had a problem with it, because new firmware destoryed the setup and it don't stark. I downgraded to firmware 4.15 and now I can't start the Arcade. "NO SIGNAL press the button to switch between display buttons" BUT I doesn't work for me! (No reset possible, because the control pad don't work on it) I think the firmware makes trouble, but how can I fix it or reset the whole thing?
The PlayStation version does. I almost included some footage but ended up cutting it for time. It runs perfect 60 fps no issues. Most PSX games do. I show some gameplay in an older video though here th-cam.com/video/sSI5zuYhXHE/w-d-xo.html
Hi Thunder Bob. Thanks again for the heads up. I've been messing with it for a while now and have a question. What would be the best core to run and setup for Dreamcast? The core that is setup with has sound issues for DOA. I see km-flycast extreme is available.
Thunderbob! I got a V1.2, and with conversion files, do you need to worry about what Firmware is on the V1.2 or it can be current firmware and you drop the conversion files and are good to go?
I have a 1.0 cabinet so my experience is more limited with the newer but my understanding it should work on current firmware with the conversion files.
Hi there! Great video. But is there anywhere I can just buy this build and put it on my legends ultimate. Rather than doing all the downloads and work on it. Lol? Thanks so much.
Awesome Video, thank you! Does anyone know if this build works with the bitpixel out of the box and can you have this build auto launch at startup like you can with coinopsX?
Thanks for all your informative videos 🙂 I am only getting 27-30 fps on my n64 games like Mario kart. Can you please offer any advice on how to get a few of these n64 games running more smoothly? Thanks for all you do 🙂👍✌️
There are different cores you can try for the N64. Some work better with particular games. It's a bit of trial and error. There was a post on the FB group where they were trying to organize testing with a Google doc with results if you are a member there.
I’m going to try this out with the base pack. I’m currently on 1.1 running coin ops on my ultimate. Always wondered if blitz and mvc2 worked. Does killer instinct work on anything? Love the video!
Blitz and MCV2 work through the Dreamcast versions. I don't think the arcade version of Killer Instinct runs and I seem to remember having issues with the N64 version.
I just bought the Legends Ultimate Arcade and am trying to add the Nintendo expansion pack from Awesome Sauce. I have downloaded and extracted the 25 Gig Base Pack, the Nintendo pack, and the conversion pack. I made sure that I was logged into AtGames on the arcade, went to BYOG, and plugged in my USB flash drive but I got the following error: "No AddOn file found. Please check the USB drive and try again". Any suggestions?
Hey thanks for the video. Mine actually read my SSD and it just kept saying Loading…wondering if I picked the wrong scripted file to load it from. I have 3 showing up on mine. Is there a difference between them? Also, how long after should the loading screen go away?
This is directly on the ALU. This is a 1.0 that has the performance mode which I believe is unavailable on the newer versions. That might be why. You can also go in and adjust the resolution but at a certain point it's so blurry.
Thanks for the video. Do you have any idea how I can add my own Msdos games to the onesauce? I put my zipped folder in the roms section but the games don’t show up on the carousel. I can’t seem to find any documentation on this either. Thanks
Hey thank you for this. I have downloaded and need to apply the conversion pack. I have the ultimate mini (Tetris). How do I know if that is alu 1.0 or alu 1.1/1.2?
I believe you are correct but you might want to double check with the FB group. You are still using the brains of the ALU in that case and just using the gamer pro as a control deck so I would assume thats correct.
I’m running this on my 1.1. I’ve got a aimtrak lightgun, but am having no joy (works on coin ops). Any help or tips? The gun crosshairs visible, just the fire buttons not working on the gun (work on the main arcade buttons).
I know people have had it working but I actually don't own an Aimtrak. I have a Sinden light gun I use on my PC. I'm probably not the best to ask but if cross hairs show up it seems to be connected. Might just need to go into the game settings, usually by holding Start or Start + Menu depending on if it's RetroArch or Mame. Look for button 1 and try to assign the trigger. The Facebook group might have more advice.
@@ThunderBob thanks for the reply, it appears to be mame but can’t see any fire button association, maybe it’s a different setup on the initial pc lightgun button calibration. I’ve now asked on some FB groups.
I have a 1.1 ALU. Do I need to run the Core Max Conversion and the 1.1 Conversion? When I press/hold player 1, i don't get the Quit Retro Arch option. I have to reboot my system to get out. Very frustrating
I have the newest ALU with 5.68 firmware. I bought new laptop and 2TB SSD and downloaded the main core and conversion files but can't get it to work. IDK if putting them on drive wrong or what but I'm ready to give up
In the sauce folder. There is three files. Two files shows it for 4.15 firmware. I deleted those two. Turn on the ALU first. I tried both usb and it finally read the hdd. I have 1.1 cab with new firmware and 2Tb hdd. Took me several times to get it.
@da-kollector5055 Thanks I finally seen had to delete the sauce folder then put conversion files in and works. Now just have to figure out controllers on some games
I've read there are issues on the most recent FW. I've also seen on the FB group they are working on an update. For the latest solutions I would suggest checking the Awesome Sauce FB group.
I just received a new Legends Ultimate Arcade v1.2 yesterday with 5.70 firmware and was able to run the core pack with the One_saUCE_Conversion_20220525_V11_V12.zip conversion file successfully. Thanks to ThunderBob for this tutorial. Be sure to run the "scripter" file as shown at 11:42 in the video. I was a little confused by the "How to install" instructions step 3 that says launch RetroFE which I tried at first but didn't work for me.
Anyone have comments on whether a solid commodore 64 library is possible on here, given the idiosyncrasies of C64 such as keyboard req or control reversal?
There is a C64 pack and it's part of the full build. I haven't put much time into it because I assumed it needed a keyboard and it's a bit before my time.
It's possible, Im experimenting with a AddOnX-pack of c64 games that all can be started and played not having to use the virtual keyboard. So far 80 games with boxart, many of them c64 classics...
It can take quite a while for the first load but after that it's usually under a minute for me. I'm using an external SSD for my full build which I think helps. I've also used several different flash drives and prefer the Samsung fit. I've tried the SanDisk and it seems slower and tends to overheat. Are you on a gamer pro or ALU? If your device has more then one USB port I would try the other one.
Okay weirder and weirder. When I first installed no buttons worked. Then I unplugged and connected by Bluetooth and it worked but no trackball. Then I plugged in and now not only does the trackball work but the rewind menu double push exit works! All on a Legends Game Pro!?!?!
Hi Chris, I wanted to try it out since I also have a Gamer Pro. It does work but not great. It is maybe better to keep playing this on CoinOpsX. Things I have done that may help. First, make sure you drop in the FB and mm2 patch offered in the description where you get One saUCE. Second, don't delete that controller config file that the notes tell you to do when dropping in the puck update that allows to run the Gamer Pro. Third, I'm always running the Gamer Pro on a powered USB hub. All the rollerball games for me seem like the controls are slow. For me, it is a lot easier just using the joystick than the trackball playing marble madness.

Would a Hyper Base Mix work in this machine perhaps? It plugs in via usb though so probably not?
how the heck do you exit out of retro arch, its really clunky when i go in
