What is CoinOpsX? CoinOps on USB on the AtGames Legends Ultimate!

- It truly is the spirit of collaboration! AtGames utilizing their innovative AddOnX Technology will now be bringing 3rd Party Developer Software and Applications onto their Platform! The very first of these Third Party Applications will be none other than CoinOpsX...developed by the good folks over on the CoinOps Discord Channel!
In order to use CoinOpsX you must be on the latest Firmware 4.24.0 and above. For this video I introduce you to CoinOpsX and also discuss what does this mean for the AtGames Legends Ultimate Ecosystem, and how will third party applications be supported?
Continuing in the same spirit of collaboration myself and two of my good friends and fellow Content Creators Restalgia and The Tech Buzz will all release videos today at specific times to get you up to speed on CoinOpsX.

That's right guys - get those flash drives ready - you will be able to run a version of CoinOps off a USB Flash Drive on the Legends Ultimate! CoinOpsX is here! The first of several third party developer applications coming to the Legends Ultimate! Note, CoinOpsX and AddOnX are backwards compatible! You can run the games BOTH ways!

Hey bro need help on this install. I got all done and already at the end launching CoinOPsX app. It would flash 'loading' bar goes away. Brings me back to AppstoreX menu. I triple checked everything. Tried unplugging core puck and USB but still same. What should I do?

I purchased LaunchBox/Big Box and a subscription to EmuMovies. I hope LaunchBox will get developed to be used on the ALU. Now! If only my Walmart pre-order wasn't delayed, then I'd actually have a system to work with. ;-)

This is momentous. It's the first time a gaming system's firmware update actually added functionality!
So question this is mainly for MAME games right. So you already know that I run a pc with coinops like others. Is there any plans for a power burst to run pc games as well . Or just steam or your own for that stuff?
You can put consoles on here anything prior the CD based systems (except Sega CD or Turbo CD) the coin-ops folks having set up a filter system yet to separate the arcade games from the Console games. They'll all just appear in one list...best to just stick with Mame Arcade Games while they add to this. keep in mind running things off the native hardware in the arcade machine via USB and there's only so much it can do.

Please excuse my ignorance but is this for gaming consoles like Xbox or a PC upgrade? I've watched quite a lot of videos on CoinopsX and not one mentions what platform its on. I run Coinops on PC in a arcade cabinet which was virtually plug and play (although I do have unresolved issues with joysticks and scroll problems) and the front end looks identical to X really. Maybe its a leap forward for consoles but doesnt look it for PC.

pDubs, sorry if this is a dumb question, do you have to use a USB flash drive, or can you use a larger external portable usb drive?
I think a 64gb USB drive is the best way to go. You can fit well over five thousand games on there arcade and console... Do you really need any more?

No fee. CoinOPs and RetroFe are free and open source software

Everything is loaded on your flash drive not on the atgames memory... So really the world is your oyster.
The Tech Buzz tutorial video is now set to private, is there a good alternative tutorial guide on TH-cam.

No. CoinOPs and RetroFe are free open source they cannot be commercialized.

Hi, I was wondering could you help me install my flash drive? I just got it in the mail and I bought it for a legends, pinball micro. The seller sent me a paper. I tried following the steps and when I was done it did not work it did not say nothing about a PC to use, could you help me

I'm all nEwB to discord, but it seems pretty useless. I'm also on the Mod My Classic discord and there's next to nothing there and that's been up since Feb. meaning that I think discord is a joke for disseminating information.

Can you do a video on installing Fightcade on steam deck? It seems hit or miss with install working.
PDubs, have you or anyone you know upgraded the speakers in Atgames legends? Looking to do so. Thats one thing I like about iircade since my memory of the arcade days was loud!
I can't think of anyone who's done the speaker mod.
Gamebit there's this Alexa app called Arcade party. I use it to play ambient arcade sounds from the 80s and early 90s. You can choose the year hahaha. Its great if you have it hooked up to a nice speaker. That and with your cabinet going and some custom lighting you'll be set!
I put a powered JBL subwoofer with speaker level inputs in the bottom. It's awesome

Is there a place where i can find the control layout? Example: I want to be able to skip to the letter "M" without having to hold down the joystick, what button would i use.

To my understanding...if it works today on the Legends it will work on the gamer...the gamer does have USB port :)

it didn't knock it out - it was moved - check out the latest videos on The Tech Buzz Channel to get you up and running.

@Pdubs Arcade Loft do you have any idea how on the new firmware to use coinopsx on the legends gamer joystick? The techbuzz video is confusing and he doe snot explain how to actually get coinopsx or install it just how to set up the usb drive. he really need to re record that tutorial as its confusing everyone over on his comments. But anyway to my question the coinopsx icon is now in the apps area its moved. but you have to have a flashx formated usb in the unit. i do that and then mount it and then it allows me to download and install coinopx but only to the usb drive which it formats and erases everything on so then you have no games... so i remove the drive but then cant read it on a computer so I have to reformat.. i add games and go back to arcade unit. now coinops is gone again and says needs to be installed... its a crazy endless loop and i cant get coinopx installed . and no body in their videos explains how to install coinops x on the unit all anyone syas is you should all ready be set up and tech buzz also does not explain how to get coin opx on the unit just what to do with the usb.... so confusing. when asked he says to go see your guys videos and in your videos yall say to go see his... somebody has thier wired crossed here. anyway can you help?

Very interesting. If AtGames wants this AddOnX-related content to work, however, they need to allow us to stay logged in on our machines. I’m not going to use this if I have to enter my password every few times.

Having some issues with wifi after updating to version 4.24 firmware. The counter has reached zero on logins for addonx and coinops x and is asking me to log back in through my email. When i try to log back in through my wifi the screen freezes and a loading bar comes across my screen. I have already reached out to atgames where they old me to do the data clean option. That did not work. I tried to do a factory reset. No luck. I tried to download the firware off their website it says the downloaded file is corrupted. Any other suggestions????
Those are the typical troubleshooting routes to take. I would email them again. Wish I could help more.

Good luck finding a proper arcade rom set to run off your USB drive. You are better off streaming from a computer. Those ROM sets that work are hard to find. there are multiple versions out there. Some games have no sound, others don't work at all. The Legends Ultimate doesn't work properly with many ROM types and versions.
