Ive mentioned this on other channels but I will occasionally have a heck of a time getting the control deck to connect wirelessly to the core. There have been times I've given up, came back a few days later and its working!!! Usually happens when Im "showing off" the console to a guest !
I need to get one of these. I would definitely add about a 1000 games to this system and The price is definitely worth it I'm heading to Sam's Club today so if they have one for 100 I will grab it. Nice video John.
Thanks Mike! EDIT: Looks like sam's club recently sold out on-line, in-store may be hit-miss. Game Stop has them intermittently, one day they'll be there, the next they're gone but restock a few days later. Another nice thing, that I didn't mention in the video, is that the UI is consistent across all of their Legends products. If you pick this up, then later decide to get a Legends Pinball, Ultimate, etc. you'll already know how to setup the other machines. Anyways, thank you for watching and have a great weekend my friend!
@@WagnersTechTalk I will see if it's a Sam's first because I want to buy and play that day!! Lol. Thanks Jonn for the fantastic information. Your videos are always spot on.
This is hands down the BEST video I have found on this system. I've been sitting on the fence but now am going to buy it. One question. I want to relive those good old days in the arcade playing classic 1980 arcade games and pinball. Gotta have Donkey Kong, but some reviewers say the joy sticks don't work well on this because they have more than four-way points. What is your take on this? Thank you for this excellent video. The production standards are at a professional level, it is concise and easily understandable, and your presentation is superb. FYI - I worked in network television production for years, so I know what I just watched! ❤️
I greatly appreciate your feedback, definitely made my day! I try to think of what it is I would like to see/hear in the video, often starting with a bullet list of points then, refining into a segmented/sequential video cuts+script. I have zero professional experience in video/tv production, it's self-taught. To see your comment definitely brought a smile to my face, thank you so much! EDIT: For your question, yes it can be a bit of a pain regarding the joysticks. An 8-way stick does make titles like Donkey Kong, Ms. Pac-Man, etc. a bit challenging to play. While I've not used this solution, there is a 3D printed restrictor set that should alleviate this problem. You can find it here: uplayarcade.com/AtGames-Restrictor-Set-GET-TO-COMPETITION-LEVEL-NOW-p357120467 There are also hardware restrictor gates available as well such as this one from Glen's Retro Show: th-cam.com/video/cDGfcud9rho/w-d-xo.html EDIT 2: Prime Days (on Amazon) starts on 7/12. I don't know what AtGames will have on sale, but you may want to wait until tomorrow to see if it is.

Great Walk thru on the Gamer Pro! I've been following your channel all year, and really glad you have finally received a Gamer Pro and giving it it's own respectable review. I've always thought it was a better device at $100 than the Mini since it included the pinball buttons and trackball...almost as good as the Ultimate machine at a 1/5 the price. I also made a wiki guide for the Gamer Pro with everything I could think of over at "SD". So it's always good to get new guides for setting this up!

Setting up VPX/Future Pinball and FX3 are a bit more involved and have dedicated guides and videos (developed with the Legends Pinball in mind). However, you should be able to do that with this using the information below: Pinball FX3 Guide - wagnerstechtalk.com/alpfx3 PinUP Popper Guide: wagnerstechtalk.com/alpbi The real difference using the ALGP is that you'll only be using the pinball buttons connected to the PC instead of VIBS (on the ALP). Should work fine. The Joy2Key profile may not work though as there will be some buttons that are being mapped that don't exist or may be incorrect for this setup (front nudge, play, etc.) For that, you'd have to map the buttons manually and/or use the Steam controller settings (in FX3) or within Popper for VPX/FP. Hope that helps!
I was able to connect the Gamer Pro directly to PC with a wired connection, to play Pinball FX3. But I used Xoutput instead of JoytoKey to configure controls. But one bad thing is: I have to configure "in game" button assignments every time I want to play, and I have to push an activate button within Xoutput to allow it to be seen by Pinball FX3 as an Xbox360 controller, so it's not very user friendly to setup pinball, not plug and play....My Pinball FX3 in-game assignment goes like this: Left Flipper -LB Right Flipper - RB 2nd Left flipper - "Left Joystick side bottom button" 2nd Right flipper - "Right Joystick side bottom button" Plunger manual control - D pad down Plunger Button - Button A or "Right Joystick side bottom button" Nudge left - D pad right Nudge right - D pad left Nudge up - D pad up Nudge down - Back(P1) or Rewind Button

The best deal would be on a Legends Pro with Trackball and you could add a USB Button Hole Spinner and Tron Joystick later( nu putting the spinner where the rewindbutton was)since it's impossible or very hard to add a Trackball to a system with only a Spinner and Joystick on it.
I've not tried adding a spinner to the Gamer Pro. Most games that require a spinner can be played fine with a trackball (I often prefer a trackball over a spinner). However, not sure if this would work (haven't tried it), but the GRS push-pull spinner may fit in one of the button holes: www.amazon.com/GRS-USB-Button-Hole-Spinner/dp/B08HNB5933 . Might want to ask Glen about that here: www.glensretroshow.com/contact . Let me know if you hear something back (or not).

So any help you can provide would be great. Im really looking to play golden tee on my projector screen with this controller and pedestal. Its perfect for what I need but I cant get trackball to work. Please help and keep up great work. Love the channel.
I'll be honest, I don't think I ever tried the trackball in MAME on the Gamer Pro. I have mine currently stored so can't do a quick test (I'm currently focused on the ALP 4KP series). The trackball should get picked up as a mouse, it does with the Arcade Control Panel and I'm sure the electronics are similar. It might be a mame-specific configuration needed. One thing you may want to try is to use RetroBat ( wagnerstechtalk.com/retrobat/ ) under Windows and see if it handles the trackball configuration/setup for you. I did use a GRS Trackball with MAME that should operate pretty much the same way. You'll find what I did for that in this video: th-cam.com/video/4uZhLdSH1VE/w-d-xo.html . Hope some of that helps, sorry I don't have a direct/exact answer. It would take some experimentation.

I don't have one specifically mapped/tested for the Legends Gamer Pro. However, you should be able to tweak this one as-needed: wagnerstechtalk.com/alpbi/#Arcade_Control_Panel_Profile
Hi Ryan, I've not had to adjust mine at this point, likely not the best one to answer. You may instead want to post your question here: www.reddit.com/r/LegendsUltimate . You'll likely get several suggestions.
I bought one recently, but I can't get it to work on my core max. I tried both USB and Bluetooth. I'm wondering if it's a firmware issue or a loose board
There are two screws on either side that hold the button assembly to the side of the Gamer Pro. Make sure the pins at the back of the button assembly aren't bent or missing. After you plug it in, launch a pinball table and it should work fine. If not, you can reach out to AtGames support here : www.atgames.net/arcades/contact/
Thanks! Yeah, shortly after the video is released they sell out again. I've been watching it for about a month, they sell out, then restock (rinse and repeat). 16:45 Do unpowered USB 3.0 hubs work reliably with these? Most guides to the ALU/ALP recommend a powered USB hub. I would want to do a direct USB connection for the controller to the Core, and have a USB drive for FlashDriveX/CoinOpsX.
I've used this same hub inside the ALU (for BitPixel to install internally into the cabinet, see here: wagnerstechtalk.com/alu/#Legends_BitPixel ) and this hub with the Gamer Pro without issue. However, on the ALU for the top panel USB ports, I only use those ports for OTG/USB drive. In my testing over the last week, this hub+USB stick (FDX and COX partitions) and Control Panel worked just fine connected to the core.
Occasionally I thought powered hubs may load the more demanding games better, but it may just be my imagination. The biggest factor may be the USB 3.0 speed and higher specced usb drives and reliability to withstand the hot temperatures (good choice is Samsung memory drives). Some hubs may work better than others, due to the heat tolerances. I've been using a generic ebay usb 3.0 powered hub, but other good brand models were Sabrent and Anker like in the video.
Could you give a little more detail on hooking up a raspberry pi or pc to this? I have done it on the ALU, so I imagine it’s not too different. But where does the hdmi out from the Pi go? Directly to the tv/monitor or into the core?
Sure, please see the guide page here: wagnerstechtalk.com/algp/#Connect_to_a_Raspberry_Pi_USB Basically, the Pi will connect to your TV/Monitor and the panel will connect to the Pi. The core won't be used if you use the panel with a PC/Pi or some other device.
@@WagnersTechTalk already found your guide, thanks. Your website is a great resource. I really like the idea of cutting out the AT software and just using this panel with a Pi or a PC. I might end up selling my ALU and going this route.
There isn't a switch, to power it off you have to unplug it. However, I used a few of these: amzn.to/3jC889i. There may be cheaper options if you want to save a few $, but I'm pretty sure this is the one I bought (I searched my Amazon History and found it). Then, I realized I was smart enough to add it in the video description too lol. Funny I didn't look there first though.
Mine worked but after I connected it to my computer it stopped connecting to core. It still works with my pc but does not even work with core even if using the usb cables.
Yes it does, it's built-in. The full game list may be found here if you want to see what else is included: legendsultimate.atgames.net/arcade/assets/Legends-Gamer-Pro-Game-List.pdf

The best deal would be on a Legends Pro with Trackball and you could add a USB Button Hole Spinner and Tron Joystick later( nu putting the spinner where the rewindbutton was)since it's impossible or very hard to add a Trackball to a system with only a Spinner and Joystick on it.
So you think a 'spinner' can be added, if so would you be able to show how it would be done? Excellent vid!
@@WagnersTechTalk Another youtube member successfully modded his Gamer Pro, but he drilled an extra hole for the Spinner instead of removing one of the buttons >> th-cam.com/video/qe1TxF2OJOU/w-d-xo.html
So i picked one of these up like new but without the core. Am trying to use with a to a cable hooked to pc to play mame. Can get controls mapped but trackball will not respond at all in mame. Ive put mice control on in settings for mame but nothing. The mouse works great on pc but wont show up at all in mame. Ive loved your channel and everytime I ask about this issue Im directed to you.
Just hearing back is good enough for me. I really appreciate it sir. I will certainly watch the videos you recommended and let you know how it went. Thanks again so much for taking the time for me. @@WagnersTechTalk
Just letting you know it worked. The trackball was picked up in batocera. Man, cant thank you enough. Happy gaming my friend, 1,000 thanks.
Do you have to use the core to connect to the legends ultimate? I would like to put the pro into my cabinet and use the core for my tv and onesauce. Thanks
The core can be connected to any HDMI video device, your TV/Monitor, etc.
I don't suppose you have a joy2key profile for the Legendss Gamer Pro? I'm trying to set it up to use with Pinup Popper
I don't have one specifically mapped/tested for the Legends Gamer Pro. However, you should be able to tweak this one as-needed: wagnerstechtalk.com/alpbi/#Arcade_Control_Panel_Profile
@@WagnersTechTalk awesome! Thx!! I got most going and will grab this too for my ALP 😎👍
after a year of playing my joystick is wanky . do i just need to tightin the screws or do i need to change the springs? the joystick loose
Should be able to pair them, please see here for some steps that may help: wagnerstechtalk.com/algp/#Connect_to_ALU_or_other_Legends_Product
How you get the flippers to work? For some reason mines not working.
Great Channel though. Unfortunately these items seem to be out of stock in all of Florida and south Georgia :(
Thanks! Yeah, shortly after the video is released they sell out again. I've been watching it for about a month, they sell out, then restock (rinse and repeat). I'll be keeping an eye out for other locations to find one and have a recommendation here: wagnerstechtalk.com/algp/#Purchase_Locations See if that helps, I've seen it happen about 3-4 times times. If anyone else finds a new source let me know, I'll add it to the guide for others.
Do you have a copy of Adonx? The atgames link is dead. Thanks.
can you add snes, mame, gba roms on usb stick to play?
Yes, for adding Arcade games please see here: wagnerstechtalk.com/al-coinopsx . For the rest, please see the pinned comments here: www.reddit.com/r/FansOfsaUCE/
Can the Legends Gamer Pro be used on a PS3 or a Switch?
Not sure, I don't own either.
What do you guys play this on? Just a coffee table?
A coffee table would make it easier, certainly. It's fairly large.
How do you power off the arcade theres no power button ? would appreciate any help
@@WagnersTechTalk Thanks alot i was confused never seen nothing like this.
Mine worked but after I connected it to my computer it stopped connecting to core. It still works with my pc but does not even work with core even if using the usb cables.
Make sure you disconnected bluetooth from your PC to the panel. It may be connecting there and why it's not connecting to the core.
@@WagnersTechTalk I do not have bluetooth on my PC but it is working now.
Awesome channel bro your content keeps getting better! I left a like and a sub and we should defo collab sometime 🤟🔥

This guide should help: wagnerstechtalk.com/al-coinopsx/
By any chance does it have the game Frontline
Yes it does, it's built-in. The full game list may be found here if you want to see what else is included: legendsultimate.atgames.net/arcade/assets/Legends-Gamer-Pro-Game-List.pdf
If you like pinball, there is also a FrontLine TAITO pinball volume you can purchase/add to the unit as well. Here' I've fast-forwarded my review to show that table, if interested: th-cam.com/video/GcTawh7verA/w-d-xo.html

Hi everyone out there in gamer land. Can anybody help me out and tell me if I would be able to use this on my hyperspin pc? I'm trying to slowly build an arcade machine so thought I'd start with my pc and add parts from there. This would be perfect so I'd like to know if anybody has done this successfully? Thanks everyone 😊
