I chuckled when Dr Ross said (in front of everybody with God listening) they found the furthest star there is (at 51 minutes).... but since then (even last year) we have found further stars. And I predict that we will find one further this year too.

Is the Universe expanding at the speed of light?
If so, where would that "Star" be now, 9+ years later?

    • @helenaconstantine
      @helenaconstantine ปีที่แล้ว +2

We can observe all the way to the Cosmic background radiation which is a long time before stars formed, so we've certainly seen the furthest stars we're going to.

@@helenaconstantine You people confuse time with distance: we can't "observe all the way" back nor "a long time before stars formed..." We came much later, those stars and elements have been around much longer, moving and expanding, unless you believe they have found the point of where the cosmos first exploded, which they can't do. We can Not go back in time to the beginning of the universe; it's too late for that.

@@helenaconstantine Looking at a piece of rock on Earth that's, say, a million years old is not "looking back" a million years into the past: that rock is now the present. The cosmos was there and moving for billions of years, it was never a still universe: it was there before us so there's no way we are "looking into the past" for that long.

It’s a contradiction to have death before sin.
Also Adam was 930 years old when he died not thousands nor millions of years old.
Ross thinks it is impossible to have stars in a young Earth. That’s him using impossible in a God conversation. It is not impossible for God.

@25:32 you can see they purposely omitted from the Bible when the moderator quotes 2 Peter 3:8. They have it showing as "But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is a thousand years". That's very close, but WRONG. WRONG in the sense, by leaving out what I'm about to say, changes this whole argument and puts a nail in it. I caught from hearing the moderator read from his Bible, and watching for the quote they showed on the screen. That they were NOT the same, and for good reason. If it's a METAPHORICAL statement, they cannot make the claim that Moses said 1 day to us is a 1000 yrs to the Lord. The Bible actually says in 2 Peter 3:8, "But do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord one day is LIKE a thousand years, and a thousand years are LIKE a day". This whole statement is a METAPHORICAL statement that should be thrown out an as any kind of argument in support of 'day meaning long periods of times'. He is not saying that 1 day is a thousand yrs to the Lord, but rather, he is saying that 1 day to us is like a thousand yrs to the Lord, comparing our Wisdom to His. It's a metaphor regardless. Look it up. But also pay attention to the reason as to why they made that intentional error. Bc I guarantee it was intentional. They want you to believe in what they want you to, and both are willing to misrepresent the context of the Bible. Basically, they purposely lie to you at 25 mins and 32 secs by leaving out the word "as". Which turns the whole statement to a metaphor.

@Converterguy, if you look at a star 1 million lightyears away, you're looking at a star as it was 1 million years ago, not as it is now. The light emitted by that star now will take 1 million years to get here. So in that sense, Dr Ross is right. Looking through a telescope is like looking through a time machine. The further away objects are, the longer it takes for their light to reach us, so more distant objects are only seen as they were in the increasingly distant past

@@WilsonSoftwash Let us try this. You think a local flood means a pond? From a ship you can see about 12 miles. What if the water was hundreds of miles in all directions? You are thinking with a modern mind. If Noah looked out and could not see any land in any direction, would he not think the whole world was flooded?
      "His" world was flooded!!
Did Noah know of all the continents? - NO!
How could he possibly know the whole world was flooded?
He did NOT have a 21st century mind and an iPhone!!!

To wipe out the world of the ungodly. - Right?
Where were ALL the people located at this time?
Mesopotamia, Persian Gulf, Western Iran, Eastern Arabia - Right?
      Why would God Flood -
      North And South America?
      Russia?
      Australia?
      China?
      Europe?
      Greenland?
      Antarctica?
      etc.?
There were NO people in any of these places!
No animals came in contact with people in any of these places.
NO NEED TO FLOOD THE WHOLE EARTH!
If you flooded the whole Earth with water, that water would have to be 30,000+ feet deep. - Right?
That amount of water would shift the plate tectonics causing tsunamis 1,000 feet high and destroy the Ark. - Right?
When the Bible stated that people from the whole world came to Egypt during the famine. Did they come from the "Whole" World? - NO!
When the Bible stated that all the Kings of the whole "World" came to see Solomon, did they come from the whole world? - NO!
God flooded the "world" of the ungodly.
All but 8 people aboard the Ark were wiped out.
Noah had to bring thousands of animals aboard and had to feed them for about 2 years. Remember, when they got off the boat, there was no plant life. They had to eat something. The plants would take considerable time to re-grow. - Right?
      Go read Psalm 104:9
Paraphrased - God set boundaries for the water by land masses. The waters will NOT cover the Earth again.
It could not be the "whole" Earth.

There’s nothing wrong with government, man can screw that up. There’s nothing inherently wrong with anything, until man screws it up, though, if seen from an unbiased open minded perspective, you can see things a lot of others wouldn’t. I do agree many people don’t interpret the Bible correctly, and then go on to indoctrinate others, whether willingly doing so knowing it’s false, or with the intention of trying to help, but still being false. Either way, the Bible stands as it is, not Christian, not Catholic, not Mormon, etc. it is just the Bible.

I suggest keeping with it, you can conversate with God, but the Bible is Gods direct words to us. I don’t read it much myself, but I have been more than I ever have, even if it’s one passage a day. Most everyone, especially Christians would benefit from a basic understand of biblical history, context, culture, Hebrew, and Greek. Additionally a basic course in how to read biblical poetry, narrative, and prose. Or better yet, read the Bible over and over again, read commentaries from scholars you trust.
Topically, the Hebrew word for day uses in genesis 1 does not necessarily mean 24 hrs.

    • @jeusvox2878
      @jeusvox2878 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@thanksdarling1 I think the Bible is a guide to life, meant to be understood from everyone’s individual unique perspective over the course of their life. A lot won’t relate or comprehend the intention of the text, either due to lack of life experience, or not caring. There’s also indoctrination which is others telling you what the scripture means, as opposed to everyone figuring it out for themselves. It’s foolish to teach a child about Gods laws with adultery for example. Yet thing like this are done. So people are told they HAVE to believe in something they don’t even understand, or else.. That is an insult to God and shows more extortion than learning. Where as learning for yourself through experience, and having scripture there to guide you in moments you’re questioning is it’s real meaning of use in this world. Of course this is my opinion. Ask yourself how many people say Our Father or Hail Mary prayers, say 3 of each because a pastor told them to do so, after a confession to “cleanse” their sin. Think about how many people actually understand what those prayers even mean. Do you? Is it something you consciously try to understand the meaning of? Or is it just words you were told to say because someone said so, or else God will be mad? How many people know God, as opposed to people who have a “relationship” with God?

One thing I have taken note of is regarding the use of the phrase "in Hebrew the word means...". My concern is that ancient Hebrew word meanings are different than modern meaning of the same words- just like in English- old English is different than modern English in word meanings. For example, clown in the time of Shakespeare is different than today. Way different. One needs to think about that when people compare Hebrew words and their meaning in the bible. Very interesting, I would like to see him explain the scientific significance and provide reliable evidence concerning the miracles. There is actually a documentary concerning the Exodus in Gods word. I thought he did it with “magic”, but there is an abundance of scientific evidence that actually explain how these events occurred. Including archeological evidence. It’s honestly quite amazing. The conclusion is that God can ultimately manipulate reality and nature to accomplish His own good will. God bless you greatly.

Pseudo science would be testing without factoring in conditions that are hypothesized. You are judging a belief based on your conditions not the conditions believed to be at play. The hypothesis at play is that entropy would not effectively exist as God is physically on earth in the universe in His whole form acting as a perfect sustainer or energy source to halt entropy (open system). When Adam and even sinned then God (by definition the most holy being ever) took His holiness away from Adam and Eve so that he wouldn’t have to kill them in judgement. He instead set His plan of redemption in motion but the world began feeling the effects of entropy. So the conditions of the hypothesis is that entropy has an external source to prevent it and when that source left then the sun and other external sources began to be an imperfect energy source that is unable to halt entropy in the same way.
This is the hypothesis some YEC have but you’re looking at it with your conditions and must judge it by its own conditions or you’re a hypocrite for inferring that you care about scientific integrity

It's staggering how people fail to see the simple truth. Mentions of mornings and evenings in addition to Exodus 20:11.. it's clearly 24 hour periods. Why would God need billions of years? Why? Time was created for human beings, so having billions of years passing by with no one to experience them makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

It is clear. As you said. Even in the beginning of the debate. Trying to spin it to 12 hours or 24 or a long period of time.
      1. When God was finished... it was evening and then morning. Why would it mean a day is only 12 hours? God did ALL those things... and then it was evening... and then morning. It still STAYS 24 hours.
On another vid I saw of hugh ross about neil degrasse... he said that there is no problem with the sun etc only apearring on a later stage. It was due to the atmosphere changing and the animals only then seeing the sun for the first time... WAIT A MINUTE. So... in that case 3 days would be normal 24 hour days. But if you do not look at that it could be a long period of time?
Sorry... animals would not live for thousands of years without the sun. A few days... no problem. Thousands of years... bull.

The moderator is wrong on Gen 2:4. The verse is not looking back at Gen 1, but is introducing what comes after it in chapter 2 in the ensuing verses. This is manifest from the fact that it says that the generations were when no plant had yet grown because there had been no rain. But Gen 1 already has fully formed plants. So Gen 2:4 onward is introducing a different aspect to the creation. It is not summarising Gen 1.

    Questions:
If all things that have a temperature exude light, doesn't that mean there is no such thing as darkness? So when the Bible says let there be light, does that then mean that all of creation is light... Meaning there is no such thing as darkness, that darkness is nothing more than an illusion because of our inability to see all the different wave lengths of light?
And if E=mc2, does that mean if we capture light and prevent it from escaping, that that light no matter how light that light is (whether we can see it or not) can that light if captured create energy?

    • @criminaltotheworld3154

      @charlesmarcello1022 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@criminaltotheworld3154 with all due respect, you only believe that because someone told you there must be another (inverted/anti) side to "space". As much as I wanted to believe that when I was younger, the more math I've done the more that math has proved its not possible.
If the truth is "everything "/all things that have a temperature exude light, then there truly is no darkness (darkness is an illusion) and equals nothing more than our inability to see the other layers of light that must exist... then the antimatter you speak of is nothing more than that which has yet to be detected/seen within the physical. ie the hidden hand of nature/the all seeing eye worshiped throughout time. If captured light turns into energy (and it does, well through experiments we know it does gain mass) and if space is the firmament above the firmament, then we must conclude that the hidden light is the source (energy) that holds everything together. Or stated another way, the light that we see hides the truth.

sn The first day. The exegetical evidence suggests the word “day” in this chapter refers to a literal twenty-four hour day. It is true that the word can refer to a longer period of time (see Isa 61:2, or the idiom in 2:4, “in the day,” that is, “when”). But this chapter uses “day,” “night,” “morning,” “evening,” “years,” and “seasons.” Consistency would require sorting out how all these terms could be used to express ages. Also, when the Hebrew word יוֹם (yom) is used with a numerical adjective, it refers to a literal day. Furthermore, the commandment to keep the sabbath clearly favors this interpretation. One is to work for six days and then rest on the seventh, just as God did when he worked at creation.
