The one thing you did not mention, that I think is critical, is a set of headphones, and not just any headphones - a pair like the Sony 7506 that does not color the sound. They are less than $100 on sale. I’m sure that was an oversight as one who does sound design. Thank you for sharing your insights. They are very helpful.
you don't have to get too fancy with SSD or going full server, but a good idea would be using the 3-2-1 backup rule which is a data protection strategy that recommends having three copies of your data in two different storage types, with one copy off-site
It’s weird for me as a video editor never worked my clients projects at home i always go to a coffee shop and that’s why I invest in a 14 MacBook Pro M1 2021 it’s was such a beast machine really worth it and I recommend it
I REALLLYYYYYYY want to splurge and get a new MacBook Pro and join you on that coffee shop vibe, but trying to hold out as long as possible! Might make the jump next year, bc right now I can’t do ANY editing on my old laptop 😅🤪
Haha its quite funn as I just bought an entire setup and got a lot of nice things... Almost feel bad for investing so much before getting started, however, I have plenty of experience in starting business, so its really not that big of an investment. I think it is important to have the right tools for the current and future technology. With Ai and other features getting more and more complex, it's important to be able to handle things.
