    Map Lip 3.0 on Lake Superior has been HUGE for me! Dr Death and Metallic gold flame are my two favorites for steelhead.

    Maglips are one of my favorite methods for trolling for trout, been doing this over in Central Oregon the last couple summers to fairly decent success. Those trophy fish are pretty fun on a ultralight setup. Love how they smash a maglip! Not quite as explosive as a steelhead or a chinook but still a ton of fun.

    Wait til you get up here in BC interior. Our diploid and triploid fish go in as yearling and fingerling. So nice 3lber+ has been it a watershed a few years and taste great. We do stock spring catchables in a few spots which I agree are not good table fare.

    I agree on the eating part. No point bringing em home when you have a freezer full of fresh Kokanee!

      I mean, Kokanee is great. But I really do love me some trout. Depending on where you caught them, and the type. Sometimes they can beat out Kokanee. . . :p But that's just my preference.

    Well, a double rainbow is a phenomenon of optics that displays a spectrum of light. due to the sun shining on the droplets of moisture in the atmosphere. Haha
    Cool that you got a tagged fish!

    I personally prefer the triploids over the Kokanee. The bright red meat is fantastic eating. I do most of my fishing in the upper Roosevelt, Gifford area. I can’t wait to get my PA14 in the water there. I scored on a used one last month for a steal of a price. Keep up the great content.

      It’s not the meat quality that deters me, it’s that you are essentially eating farmed fish vs fish that grew up on local food resources in the reservoir.

    I catch a lot of fish on orange spinners and spoons.

    Hey did you have to buy the Use Permit, Launch Pass and Indian License when launching at the pins. I've always used a boat up there and ran down to the pins but I'm planning on running up with the yak so it'll be launching at the pins this time.

    • @spiltmilt
      @spiltmilt  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes you have to buy all of those

    Hi, what regs are there that you can fish on 2 rods at same time? Ontario is one only. Also what fish finder setup is this?

    Wild caught Dworshak trout are so delicious to eat, catching the released farmed trout just don’t compare. I am with you on catching farmed fish versus not i just have no interest. The only fish i like to eat that farmed are kokanee which are typically released as fry - 6” finger ling fish.

    @spiltmilt launching at Rufus with a kayak- do I need to purchase the native park access pass to launch my kayak from that area?

    • @spiltmilt
      @spiltmilt  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes. You need a fishing license and the access pass. If using a developed ramp you also need the boat launch pass.

    I’ve decided to follow God’s laws, not man’s rules when it comes to fishing.
