That was my first bushcraft knife. Have beat the crap out of it and it's still going strong!
Nice point on the coating...everyone seems to miss that when they review this knife. It's what makes this knife seem somewhat dull when you first try to use it. Probably affected it's ability to throw sparks as well. Also hard to sharpen on a stone until the coating wears of and gets out of the way. Looked at a bunch of reviews before I bought this knife myself and never saw it mentioned. Noticed it seemed to get sharper and carve better after using it a few times and saw the coating was wearing off the bevel. Good review.
Bought mine a while back and I think it’s worth every cent. I tend to like traditional over survival or tactile type knives.
Aw Damnit! HOW did I miss a "321" edit cut! ARGH! I'm leaving it. It takes FOREVER to reload a finished video into the program just to cut 3 seconds off. Just looks terrible...

Caveman Outdoors He doesn't, He's just learning. He will tell you that in his videos. Not everyone was born with a genetic bushcraft gene, some people have to learn and practice that's what Carb's is doing. His viewers' get to watch him in all his successes and failures. They also get to help him on his way. he must be doing something that people want to see, he's added several sub's in the few months he's been around.

I just received my Bushlore a couple days ago and I was surprised at the fit and finish. I'd heard there were some QC issues with the Bushlore, especially the previous generation, so I was prepared to have to regrind and sand it to my liking, but it came out of the box perfect. It was as sharp as a brand new Mora, which are amazing slicers in their own right. I bought this knife kind of on a whim, but given how much of a high-value blade this turned out it be, now I'm interested in in getting the Woodlaw and maybe a couple of the larger knives like the Moonshiner.
Try the Solobolo. You might like it.

in a survical situation any knife is your best friend. people sometime are forced to use sharp edges of broken rocks to cut things. Some people seems to be complaining about how this isnt for survival, only for camping and backyard. if you dont have a knife in the wild and find this knife, it would be like finding diamond..
Condor Bushlore is a good knife, used it over a year for fire prep, wood carving, cleaning fish and food prep. Also since the blade has a deep belly you can grip it from the back of the blade for very detailed carving tasks.
I hate to be that guy, but I'm a native Nevadan and it's pronounced Pie-yoot. That said, I have had the Bushlore for about a year and just started loving it. I found that with a full Scandi grind the edge will roll every time. I had to put a very small microbevel on it and now it's almost indestructible. Thanks for doing what you do and please keep these good videos coming.
Knottactical Man...I'm glad to hear the microbevel helped with the edge rolling. I'm trying to strop on a micro convex bevel to see if it improves its edge strength. Thanks
I have to add I love the bushlore, I have used the heck out of it since april, even batoned with it, seriously anyone just starting out or just someone that wanted to try it, should be happy. I say again, I love this knife it will alway be in my kit, even as pack backup.

ps my current belt/ pack combo is my bushlore (belt), and rodan (pack), the rodan is a total chopping beast.

I think this is a good video with a great low cost bush crafting knife. The Condor Bushlore (depending on what day it was made, Monday or Friday : ) usually needs fine tuning involving fixing it's edge (grinds are off a bit) and reshaping the wood handle for comfort.
If a full-tang budget bushcraft knife is desired the Condor wins.
For a normal classic bushcraft needs are required I think the Mora Bushcraft Black wins and is better if your don't abuse your knives (IMO).
Mine is a few years old and came with their signature convexascandisabre grind at the time. Love Condor's old world rough look. You will really love it once you make the edge your own. Now you can change your name to BUSHCRAFT101 ha ha!

Damn good knife for the price. I was looking for an inexpensive bushcraft knife. I went with the micarta version. Not a perfect knife but I love it. Kind of grows on you. I would recommend it

Good video bro. This knife is OK but the Condor Kephart knife is my favorite bushcraft knife on the market (even more than the black Mora bushcraft/survival knife). The price ($30-$40), quality of steel, fit and finish and the awesome Condor leather sheath are all deciding factors. Plus, the spine throws really good sparks off my mag rods, and it batons effortlessly. Don't know if you've ever owned or reviewed one, but it is my go to knife when I'm camping or hiking. Take care...
How is the edge retention on the Kephart?
Thanks for the video as always. Your hard work is very much appreciated. This is an excellent bushcraft knife. I had mine for over a year now. I removed the coating of the spine and now is better at producing sparks but is no Falkniven. Like it better than the Moras by far. Here it rains all the time so my F1 is the first choice. The Condor is my preferred summer knife. Thx.
nice review I got a bushlore just after they got rid of the shortened edge...great knife and its what I carry whenever im in the woods or at the lake...has not failed me yet ....keep em coming :)
Another great review! I love my Moras. They're absolutely imperative for woodcrafts. Sometimes you need something a little different... I'm thinking these Condor Bushlores are just what I have been looking for...

I have 3 of these and a couple bushlore mini's. after I fine tuned the grind and the edges they are a workhorse knife for sure.
After watching yours , and a few other reviews, I bought this knife. Have to say, it is well worth the money. It fits my hand very well, and cuts like a dream. I like it much more than my BK-2, which is a good knife, just so heavy it often gets left at home. MiF

It does baton bigger wood and it does hav a 90 degree spine for fire ignition and works great, dont know why I'm commenting doesn't look like you reply back to any comments anyway lol.

The bushlore depending on version, has either 0.13 in , roughly 3 mm thickness or 0.18 , around 4 mm which is still LESS then the TOPS BOB , at almost 4.8 mm. Both BOB and Bushlore come with a ''modified scandi'' which has a secondary bevel. From the Condors I can tell because I had to spend some time regrinding the scandi ( which was convexed) and getting rid of the pronounced secondary bevel. I love my Condor Sapien after the rework to a scandier scandi. Its a shorter (at 4in blade length) then the Bushlore but has more of a drop point shape and I love it.

bought this knife about the time this video was posted, super soft( fire steel deforms the spine), takes an edge well. Won't hold the edge very long. If you are planning on purchasing this knife....also plan to spend a lot of time sharpening it.
I was actually going to purchase the Mora Bushcraft Black. It used to be $30 on Amazon. It's now $45+. Way overpriced now. So I figured I'd take the chance and buy this. I just got it last week.
I like mine so far. I haven't put it through much other than practicing fire starting (processing wood and some feather sticks). The edge was ok, but not great. Knife took more effort than it should. 20 minutes watching football and half paying attention to the knife with a strop and it was able to shave hair from my arm. After that, fine work was MUCH easier. So the profile from the factory is good. Just needs to be finished up when you get it. The handle is walnut and I figured would be rough, but it came absolutely flawless. Really surprised me.
I have the TOPS B.O.B. and frankly, I wish I would have gotten this instead and used the extra $90 toward something else. If this holds up to some heavy use, I don't see myself carrying the TOPS knife any longer. I beat it up and it's a great knife, but the ENORMOUSLY convexed edge makes it a hassle to sharpen and the super thick blade means fine work is a pain. The Bushlore with my Gransfors and a Mora packed away just in case and I'm set.
Thinking about getting the Kephart next.

I have 2 of them. Condor made so many changes. The first one was 1/4 thick. The 2nd was 3/16 thick. That one looks to be 1/8. Wth!
I love Condor blades however their edges need refinement! Specifically I thin the edges significantly and then convex with worksharp for durability and edge retention. Their 1075 heat treat has demonstrated effectiveness on knives I’ve received.
I just got one but I noticed I can’t get rid of edge roll. Ceramic rod just transfers it from one side of the blade to the other. I will have to oil-stone work it but not sure I’m a scandi-grind lover

Thank's Chris and Will watching you guy's use and review a big bag of all sort's of blade's has been a great help and if I may add a little advise please be sure to show all blade's as they come in the box, for example the Condor Bushlore Mini I would have liked to have seen the sheath that comes with the box.
I will be adding one of these to my kit. (more affordable than the Ray Mears version to name just 1 brand)

Hard to curl on that hardwood. I like my Condor although I rolled the edge my first time using it (my fault). I was able to file it out and really like this knife as a backup bushcraft blade. Great review!

About the Moonshiner, I wrote to Condor about it and it should be released near the end of June.
Your feather skills have greatly improved since this video was made, you can see in your newer vids that ya got it down now. I really think I'm gonna go with one of these soon cause the price is just way cool BUT the Swampromper is do to come out soon but finding info on that is like getting info out of the Clinton's.
It also serves as a great signilling device!
Feather sticking was an unmitigated disaster. It's like the wood isn't curling at all. The Svord Drop Point is a better pick. Looks like its dull as a bag of hammers too.

How about this knife vs the Final Frontier? is there any major difference? Same blade thickness?
I have one and did some light woodwork with it (chopping, batoning, shaving). Unfortunately I ended up a very small chip in the edge :(
On the Condor Bushcraft, I received my new one two days ago. After testing it I came to the same conclusions that you did. The spine needs to be sharper, I did try it with several ferro rods of different size and manufactures with the same results. You might pass that on to Condor...
Or you could put a indention in the handle like Chris did with his Cold Steel Bushman the reviews I have seen of the Habilis Bush Tool (which comes with the indention) says that the Indention helps focus the sparks into your tinder so that may honestly be the best idea Just a thought!!!
I just hit the spine with my worksharp and now it works perfectly. No need to grind or damage the temper.

I don't know if you've reviewed it yet, but I bought the Schrade Guidemaster slingshot/survival knife and tactical case, and I plan on having a lot of fun with it. It was under $50.
I like things with multiple functions for my bug out gear.

Hi I have Bushlore for little over 4 months, and it happened same with the coating, but it is not a problem. Handle it is very comfortable for carving and used it for long period of time. Great bushcraft knife, for me it is the best)What have happened with you Cold Steel Bushman? Cheers.

why don't you split a piece of branch or a small log vs a piece of dry 4x1 board Chris those woods cut differently because they are super dry.

By the way guys, Slumberjack Trail tents and tarps totally suck! they failed me at the worst times after light use. Also I was not able to get any kind of a refund since I bought them in the offseason please pass the word along the two men trail tents and the tarps suck. There really wasn't much for reviews on those items so I took a chance an got burned. I really like this channel, not only is it entertaining but everything I've gotten that Chris recommended turned out to be good investments.
My Bushlore was razor sharp out of the box (Feb '17). I could lay the blade on my arm, move it down my arm with only the weight of the blade, and, it shaved my arm baby butt smooth. I just received my Terava Jaakaripuukko Carbon 110, and, it wouldn't come close to that. I much prefer my $25 cheaper Bushlore, even though the puukko gets outstanding reviews on TH-cam. The Bushlore feels much better in my hand is much nicer looking, and, cuts great. It's as sharp as any Mora I have, although, the Kansbol is crazy sharp. I rate my Bushlore pretty close to my Helle Guape, even though the Helle cost 3+ times more. It just turned out to be too gorgeous to actually use. You just never know until they're in your hand.
Its just nice for the price.

I can't decide between this, a mora companion, and a Schrader schf42. I know the schrade is a lot bigger (.7 inches), and that Moras are a lot cheaper

I’ve really been wanting this Condor knife, and their Sequoia Primitive. I read a lot of positive reviews, but on the other hand, tons of people say the edge is really prone to rolling/damage. Your knife reviews haven’t let me down yet. What’s your take on that? Improper use?

Just got a blank, might professionally paracord lash it in order to keep it low profile.
Update, paracord makes this blade top thin to fully put weight into. Making a handle of out oak this week.

I'm looking at getting a hunting and bushcraft knife and was looking at the condor kephart would that perform well with those tests or would I be better off with the condor bushlore I was also looking at the eskabar bk14 or a mora if a mora which model? Any input helps thanks
