The 14th edition of Tata Literature Live! The Mumbai LitFest is here. The Festival will start with its online edition on 25th & 26th October and will take place on ground from 27th to 29th October at the NCPA (Nariman Point), St Pauls Institute of Communication Education and Title Waves bookstore (Bandra).
Tata Literature Live! 2022: Indian history writing has weighed heavily in favour of north Indian histories. Colonial history has weighed heavily in favour of the nationalist movement and ignored the role of Indian rulers. Two books seek to redress that balance: one focuses on the fascinating and constantly shifting dynamic of medieval south Indian rulers, the other explores the ways in which Indian rulers challenged the hegemony of their British masters. Both throw light on a rich tapestry of power politics that readers have rarely had a chance to glimpse.
Anirudh Kanisetti’s book Lords of the Deccan has been shortlisted for the Tata Literature Live! Literary Awards 2022.
