I wonder if plumber PVC glue works the same on that PVC material- might be an option to pop rivets. I also consider running my bungees back to the mounting brackets to avoid obstructions inside.
seen a guy who put slider pins through the cap and post so he just has to remove the pin and the cover comes off and nothing in the way of anything. But well done on the brackets as well
Yep, though it's a little flimsy and can bend in the middle when full if not well supported. And even with them- it still works fairly well in the few times that I've needed to use it that way.
I think that's a good idea. I debated it but worried that the bungee would slip up during travel. I said I should switch to smaller bungees, but here I am a year or so after I made these and what I have isn't super inconvenient.
Maybe. I think it would have been tougher to mount them at the same time than to do them individually. They could have been mounted a little more closely together that way, though.
If you did that, then the caps would either rub together or be hard for them to go on and come off. You want that u bracket to be as tight as possible.
Drawer is optional but lets you store short things without them getting lost. For instance, I keep my flexible toilet sprayer, a short 5' hose (for dump stations), and my expanding hose for the black tank flush.
I added a link to a written article which has a more full parts list in the description of the video. Basically go to the LearnToRV website and you'll find it.
The drawer is genius. Thank you for the ideas.
I wish I could take credit, but they’re sooo useful!
that is a slick idea... thanks
Thanks!
Thats awesome
Thanks!
OK, newbie here. Are the drawers REALLY worth it? Can't you just slide the hoses in and out the main tube?

Interesting idea in the PVC glue. The bungees to the brackets makes sense if you can find a way to secure them well.
Having difficulty in locating all of the parts; especially the half-round gutter and inside gutter caps. Can you offer any suggestions?
Sorry for the delay. I have been more successful at small town hardware stores like Ace Hardware than the box box stores lately.
@@LearntoRV Thank you...

I like that idea. The knots definitely get in the way, but that temporary fix worked for the life of those tubes. :)
Don’t put the ends on the draw and you can use it to keep your hose off the ground when you set it up.

Maybe have the holes for the bungees higher in the tube so they don't interfere with the gutter?

@@LearntoRV check out RV With Tito did with his. I'd call it "similar but different".
Nice project. One suggestion, the mounting straps, would it have been better to make one continuous strap per side holding both tubes?
Maybe. I think it would have been tougher to mount them at the same time than to do them individually. They could have been mounted a little more closely together that way, though.

Definitely would need a spacer of some sort.
What's the benefit of the drawer? Why not just slide the hose in?

Would be more beneficial if there was no wind noise
Fortunately, being a trailer, we have never heard any noise from these.
Sorry can't hear you.
Sorry! I’m still learning about this video making thing.
Here’s a link that covers the same thing:

Are those 4.5 inch gutters? From Ace Hardware?
Yep.

Go you

Not to be weird, but the way you breathe sounds like you need nose surgery for a deviated septum. I had it done last year and it has helped greatly.
You’re probably not wrong. I’ve recently lost a lot of weight (like 150 pounds) and my breathing is so much improved.
