My mom makes the best creamy wild rice soup and you probably do too. Pretty much this recipe (minus the cheese) and add mushrooms and two boxes of zatarans wild rice with the seasoning packets. Chop up vegetables a bit more than this though. It's my favorite soup in the whole world, nothing beats it during the winter

A cup of uncooked wild rice expands to about 7 cups cooked. Dried stays nearly as big) with seasoning packets. Zatarains always has too much salt in their packets, which is their charm. We also aren't big on 'hot', so ZippyZap is out, lol. I think COVID palate (not being able to taste or smell) has made spicy foods a little overdone. Just my opinion - do what you do; I don't want my mouth on fire.

I've made a few of his recipes either without the spicy ingredients or very mild. It's still delicious to me. I have used rice and pasta in mine and they've came out great but I prefer the noodles.
@@Dobzie795 The noodles was almost cooked at the end. You could tell from the colour/ the bend in some of them. He was right it looked extremely watery.

The only thing I would do different is add the cheese at the end and add A few cubed chunks of cheddar cheese about 1/4 inch by 1/4 inch each when serving or have them on the table for everyone to add there own. DELICIOUS! Mmm.Mmm.Mmm!
