Absolutely on the mark! I tried to clean my pitch black pandora bracelet yesterday, was as black when I removed it from the soda solution…. But the one thing different was it said hot water, not boiling water!!!!! I did it exactly as you stated, my bracelet is like new now! Thank you thank…. I’m so happy I can wear it again!
This works!! I used it on my black container for sacred vermilion kumkum in India. It looked like new all by itself! Will def do this hereafter. Thank you
My lovely aquamarine silver ring became black and tarnished. To have the stone reset was going to cost far too much. I didn't know whether to chuck it or give it to a recycling shop. I tried this and WOW! It's looking brand new again. WHat a fabulous, inexpensive tip. Thank you

I have been looking for a way to polish my earrings with stones. I ruined my stone, bumble bee jasper earrings and pendant in a commercial silver cleaner. Without out polish I’ve read the bumble bee jasper has toxicity. I’m going to have a jeweler remove stones with different stones. Amethyst being a different type of stone and not ruined. Would turquoise be safe in that solution?
One thing I've noticed with all these videos online is nobody is saying if u can use this method with quartz/opal/turquoise rings. I used a method online that was different then this and it destroyed my opals so I've been afraid to try any other methods til I know for sure. Lmk. Thx
Hi Dana, I've used this on CZ and it's worked well, so I would say that quartz will be fine but I haven't tried it. I would not recommend it for opal or turquoise as they are softer.
Hello thank you so much for sharing! Just wondering is it okay to clean sterling silver rings with gemstones ( labradorite, pink quartz, aquamarine) using this method? Best
Hi! I love changing colours of zultanite. It must be a beautiful piece of jewellery. I have never tried this method with zultanite so I can't tell you for sure. It is safe with many stones, but to be safe you probably should try a polishing cloth first.
Thank you for the video. Just one question can i do the same procedure with old silver ring with red zercon, will that process damage the stones? Thank you.
Glad you like the video! I would not recommend this cleaning process for jewellery with semi-precious stones. A polishing cloth would be more suitable.
Thanks Rose Gold. Generally for precious stones I would recommend a polishing cloth to be sure, but I have used the technique on my less expensive everyday pieces with stones and it's worked out fine. One advantage is that it cleans right around the settings which is difficult with a polishing cloth.
Guys, don't do this if your jewelry is silver with amber! I just cleaned my ring with amber stone and the amber is now mat, opaque, is not clear anymore, you know, see through 😢

Can I use this on my gold jewelry? Thank you
How amazing, I never knew! Thank you so much, this will save hours of polishing time. Stay safe x
So glad to help ☺
to my understanding, this method also better protects your silver compared to polishing it
Thank you so much for this video. Super helpful and well-presented. Your time and effort is most appreciated!
Brilliant! It seems so easy and not toxic. Thank you Vicky!

That's great to hear, David! I'm so pleased it worked well for you.
Does the aluminum foil help with the chemical reaction? Interesting.
I have Learned it at high School, physics class. I guess she also didn’t miss this class 😊
I follow you all the time I am a goldsmith myself

Hello thank you so much for sharing! Just wondering is it okay to clean sterling silver rings with gemstones ( labradorite, pink quartz, aquamarine) using this method? Best
Hi Sophia, I would not recommend this method for expensive jewellery with gemstones. I suggest you use a silver polishing cloth instead.
Thank you
Will this work on very dirty gold?
Thank you so much for this video. I've seen other videos similar but I noticed you leave out the salt. Is it because the salt causes a toxic reaction?
Hi Linda, so glad you liked the video. I've never added salt and I'm happy with the results so I don't know what reaction it would give.
It worked!!! Yay! Thank you!!!
That's fantastic!! So pleased for you! Thanks for letting me know.
Hi! Would it work with zultanite stone? Im affraid it will damage it
Hi! I love changing colours of zultanite. It must be a beautiful piece of jewellery. I have never tried this method with zultanite so I can't tell you for sure. It is safe with many stones, but to be safe you probably should try a polishing cloth first.
WOW, thankyou Vicky - hello from Australia..☀️🌼
Thanks Colleen! Great to hear from Oz. I hope it helps you get your jewellery sparkling again.
My silver chain has turned little brown
will that work on it as well also that is fake silver?
This method only works on solid silver, not plated silver so don't try it. Thanks for your comment.
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
Would this method strip off any gilt plating?
Hi Arthur, yes that is very likely, this method is not suited for gilt plated jewellery.
Thank u so much for sharing that
So pleased you like the video Amma.
But the boiling water will affect the crystal stone
Thank you for the video.

My silver bracelet has several shell cameos set in it. Would this method work for my bracelet without damaging the cameos,?
I would not recommend it for shell as the shell may be porous.
Thank u will try this so do i use freshly boild water? Thx
Hi Jackie, the water just needs to be very hot. I hope it goes well for you.
@@vickyssilverjewelleryirela6498 thk u Vicky for reply 💖👍🏻👍🏻
You are welcome.
Hi Vicky!
What is the purpose of Aluminum Foil ?
Please advise!
RB.
Aluminum foil cleans silver because of an electrolytic reaction that transfers the tarnish from the silver to the aluminum 👍🏻
YOU ROCK ❤
Good how to video
Short and quick explanation
Thank you Patrice!
Will this be safe to use on jewelry that contains pearls?
Hi Danny, I have not had any issues with pearls but if it is a precious piece of pearl jewellery to you I would recommend using a polishing cloth.
Thanks Vicky, looking forward to giving my silver a new lease of life!
So glad you liked it Hazel

Why the silver foil?
It can work without the foil on some pieces, but I find it works better with it.
Omg it worked but need be boiling water. My tiffany jewellery look new
That's fantastic Caroline! I'm so pleased for you.
I love when British people try to say "Aluminum!" 😅
What can i do if i don't have aluminum foil??
You should be able to find aluminium in most supermarkets. You could try it without the foil but it doesn't work as well.

Man hands
Yes we can see all you got don't have to repeat just get on with the program
You are too slow😮
i think the chemicals work much better. tarn-x and wrights all day. this takes off the tarnish but it doesn't make it shine.
thank you for the video! would you recommend it on silver jewellery with diamonds?
Yes, diamonds are very strong and resistant so this method works well with them.
Thank you
You're welcome!
