Thanks for the video. Just bought some, these seemed a lot nicer then all the others I saw and from a reputable company. I like they’re rebuildable to.
I need to step-up my old hoodie game 🤣 Thanks for the information. I've got my rcvs ordered and just stumbled across these. Didn't know they were a thing.
@@reconjeeper0321 how long have you been running them and do you wheel a lot? Sorry, new to the channel. I'm seeing a lot of videos of them only lasting a few months even with weekly greasing. Guys are saying water bypasses them, then the water gets trapped behind.
@@casey197930 been wheeling pretty hard …. Mine have been great… inside of axle tubes perfect!! Sick of the days of mud and debris pressing against inner seals…. I grease mine few times a year… no issues … I have had my axles out after breaking driver side stub shaft… so I could inspect axle tubes… perfectly clean! I think they are a home run! Enjoy the channel!👍🏻🇺🇸
The thing that everyone fails to show with these seals is the the plastic dust/ dirt protector piece at the end of your axle shaft at the u joint end needs to be removed or your axle shaft will not go fully into the differential. This applies to stock axle shafts. not sure about any aftermarket shafts.
That is correct .. that little debris stopper needs to be removed if you are putting your stock axles in.... and in my case with RCV they do not go on the RCV axles at all. 👍🏻🇺🇸
So after having them quite a long time…. I do like them… you need to use the needle grease fitting to grease them maybe 4 times a year…. Easy install…. If used with RCV axle shafts it’s a little tight for room if you have to take the orange CV boot off. But it all fits… it’s great to keep the mud out of the axle tubes…. Also if your inner axle seal should end up leaking as mine did after it broke… oil will still leak past them into the C , so you can still tell if you need to change the inner seals. So having said all that! They are worth it, and a quality product in my opinion! 👍🏻🇺🇸
I have had to replace inner axle seals a couple times…. Usually because of busted axle shafts. The outer seals keep the mud out of tubes… but oil will seep out if the inners fail. 👍🏻🇺🇸
How far out do these seals protrude from the axle tube exactly? I ordered some seals for my Dana 30 and my yolk ends up hitting the end of the seal so I’m wondering if these are the ones for me. I’m guessing I need the thinnest seals for my outer tubes. Great video and Thank you
Hello Isaac, These seals stick out approx 3/8 of an inch out of the tube. I am very pleased with them... great investment... so glad I went with them! Good luck! Rick
So it's been 3 years now since you put these in. Have you had any issues with them? If you were to build out another Jeep would you add them to the build?
Many people have said to coat them with RTV…. Has worked quite nicely now for a long time…. Interestingly I have recently had 80/90 gear oil leak past them even with RTV because I have a bad inner seal. I will be replacing the inners again. FYI… if you brake an inner axle shaft like I have done twice now…. Most likely you will end up with an inner axle seal leak. 👍🏻🇺🇸
I don’t think you really have too… after having them for a long time now and having inner axle seals leak…. And 80-90 drip past them it doesn’t matter…. Some guys grease the o rings…. And that helps as well as the silicone when pressing them in. FYI after a couple years if you pull the axles you can buy rebuild kit for the 3 o-rings as well as the larger shaft rings. No regret with these… tubes were clean…. I recently trusses front axle and removed because of welding…. They are challenging to hang out. Good luck! 👍🏻🇺🇸

So your RCV axles do fit with these outer axle seals?
Yes they fit and have worked flawlessly!!! I’m glad you enjoyed the video and that it helped!! Let me know how u make out!
Wonder if these would fit my 99 WJ
Hi Greg…. They have different ones for a variety of front axles and brands… worth a phone call.👍🏻🇺🇸
Do they make these for Dana 60
As far as I know.. yes
Why put RTV on O-rings. Do the instruction say to do this?
