I was in the same place and actually was able to achieve a more stable attitude because of the podcast. His way of thinking gets cemented in your head after listening to so many and I am better off because of it.

I watched this on the 4/29/19, found out Graham was coming to Seattle the next day. Bought a ticket and went. It was great BTW. What a knowledge dump, absolutely fascinating! Then he spoke a extra 1/2 Hour totally 2 hours. Now 9:00pm, he said he will Meet, Greet, and Sign for anyone willing to stay after. 35 people in front of me when I got in line. Another 40 or so behind, and 40 more waiting around for the line to shrink. Plus, another 35 to 50 books left behind to get signed and picked on later. Fast forward to 9:30pm, Graham has met to everyone ahead of me, signed each book then stood up and took Pics . As I approach the desk the organizers move the Photo Back drop next to the signing desk and he says something like "please move that, I need to be able stand for photos." (Organizer says) We figure you can take photos while seated. Graham immediately refused saying something close to this "It doesn't look good and it is unprofessional". Meaning to me that everyone who came deserves proper attention. Saving a few minutes by staying seated was not an option. Bravo Sir! I will not forget that. What a good dude.
When he said he was doing a book tour i immediately googled graham hancock st louis and was stoked to see he's coming may 9th. Can't believe I'm gonna meet him.

I hate how they teach history and things they don’t know as a fact. I remember in school being confused when they said one side of tongue taste sweet other is bitter I said no I taste everywhere and the teacher would say no.. and other things too if they don’t know why do they teach as a fact they need to strongly emphasize that it’s an opinion/idea/theory etc.

Wow this was my first time listening to Graham and now I can’t stop thinking about the ancient world and the mysteries behind it. This one episode has definitely changed my view of the world and humanity.
Agreed, some of these people i'm familiar with but to have the opportunity to hear them have a long conversation is very cool, others I know about them but haven't read them or heard them espouse their experiences / philosophy, & still others (a few) I know nothing about them, never even heard of them, etc. & they're brilliant/accomplished in 1 or more domains of life. What Rogan has done here & how it's grown & the pretty huge audience he's attracted.... their is obviously a thirst for long format intelligent conversation, as well as the fact that he's become a great active listener AND asks pertinent questions; in short, spectacular !! Hancock’s normal speech is at the level of a well written journal. His recall of information is amazing as well as his eloquent manner of delivery, without hesitation or filler words. Truly a brilliant man.

The soil mentioned at 37:50 reminds me of a story I was told about my grandfather when I was a child. My Grandfather was a scientist with multiple degrees, at one point he was a part of a project where they used bacteria to enrich the soil. From what I was told; the theory was that some plants are able to absorb nutrients from the atmosphere rather than the earth, so they found bacteria that would somehow make use of this idea. I was told the experiments were a success, they had achieved growing plants without any other fertilizers and that the project was shutdown by the fertilizer companies since it was seen as a threat. Later I was told that the way it was shutdown was by pulling funding, so the project might have been started by the fertilizer companies to find a better fertilizer, but instead they made fertilizers irrelevant and thus had to stop the experiments. It would not surprise me that other scientific discoveries like this has been buried.

As a brit in his 50's, Graham Hancock to me should be sir Graham Hancock . I developed narcolepsy with cataplexy and in my late 30's and was no longer a productive member of society. I recently watched a podcast on youtube with joe about the cures of cancer. At this very moment im in the process on taking on psycodelic therapy on my own by taking a heroic dose of psylisibin. A year ago i was determined that ending my life was my last option. After watching a pod cast with these two fantastic individuals i know longer want to take my own life, but do want to open my previously courrupted mind to what is really going on . About 7 years ago, when I was 18, I discovered articles on the ancient Sumerian civilization. I have been hooked on history ever since. I am a keen amateur astronomer and archaeologist and my hunger for knowledge of history only grows. 7 years ago when I tried to tell family and friends of the knowledge I had discovered they laughed at me. After listening to Graham's books, 3 so far, and Brian's, and a few other amazing journalists /scientists and authors, I can truly say that this information and some of Joe's podcasts have expanded my understanding of the world and our history immensely! Also love how Joe lets him speak for very long periods with no interruptions, so many other times I see ppl like this guest with such massive amounts of info to give and the message gets lost when the host asks too many questions and the topic goes off track so this was very well done

The EGYPTIANS DID NOT USE THE CONSTELLATION OF THE ZODIAC!. They had a completely different cosmology and astronomy belief system. The Constellation of the Zodiac was a Babylonian construct; and at a much later time than the Sphinx. The Zodiac wasn't adopted by the Egyptians till the Greco Roman Era. He has been corrected but continues to make this assertion, probably thinking his believers won't check on it. Plus real astronomers (Krupp Griffith Park Observatory) says that the Zodiac was in the constellation Virgo at the time Graham claims. He has had this pointed out to him, but he continues to repeat his debunked assertions. If he admitted otherwise it would debase his ""the Sphinx is older then "they" say"" assertion. When refusing to acknowledge strong and verifiable evidence, who is the one who is ego driven and inflexible in their thinking?

Started watching the netflix series with Graham, which brought me here. Fantastic podcast, respectful, natural flowing conversation about an absolutely fascinating topic. Joe is a great host because he has such an open mind, and Graham clearly knows his stuff. Please get this man back on the podcast!

He signed books and stood for Photos for 1 1/2 hours before his speech. Then he spoke a extra 1/2 Hour totally 2 hours. Now 9:00pm, he said he will Meet, Greet, and Sign for anyone willing to stay after. 35 people in front of me when I got in line. Another 40 or so behind, and 40 more waiting around for the line to shrink. Plus, another 35 to 50 books left behind to get signed and picked on later. Fast forward to 9:30pm, Graham has met to everyone ahead of me, signed each book then stood up and took Pics . As I approach the desk the organizers move the Photo Back drop next to the signing desk and he says something like "please move that, I need to be able stand for photos." (Organizer says) We figure you can take photos while seated. Graham immediately refused saying something close to this "It doesn't look good and it is unprofessional". Meaning to me that everyone who came deserves proper attention. Saving a few minutes by staying seated was not an option. Bravo Sir! I will not forget that. What a good dude.
When he said he was doing a book tour i immediately googled graham hancock st louis and was stoked to see he's coming may 9th. Can't believe I'm gonna meet him.

I hate how they teach history and things they don’t know as a fact. I remember in school being confused when they said one side of tongue taste sweet other is bitter I said no I taste everywhere and the teacher would say no.. and other things too if they don’t know why do they teach as a fact they need to strongly emphasize that it’s an opinion/idea/theory etc.

FakeChow it’s probably because the burden of proof lies on the person making the claim. As amazing as he is, and I love listening to him talk, I can’t help but see him selling his fantasies. All because mysteries still exist, does not mean he’s answered them in any way.
Again, I say this with the respect for him as an entertainer, speaker and author. But there’s a possibility that he’s driven by fame or the legacy of having his name on discovered history. But he’s doing it with no science, only guesses.

The soil mentioned at 37:50 reminds me of a story I was told about my grandfather when I was a child. My Grandfather was a scientist with multiple degrees, at one point he was a part of a project where they used bacteria to enrich the soil.
From what I was told; the theory was that some plants are able to absorb nutrients from the atmosphere rather than the earth, so they found bacteria that would somehow make use of this idea.
I was told the experiments were a success, they had achieved growing plants without any other fertilizers and that the project was shutdown by the fertilizer companies since it was seen as a threat.
Later I was told that the way it was shutdown was by pulling funding, so the project might have been started by the fertilizer companies to find a better fertilizer, but instead they made fertilizers irrelevant and thus had to stop the experiments.
It would not surprise me that other scientific discoveries like this has been buried.

The mega fauna extinction didn't happen all at once 12,800 years ago in fact it began before 12,800. And many beasts lived for at least 2,000 years after his proposed catastrophe. He continues to say differently even though he has been corrected many times.
On top of that Mastodon remains were found on Baffin Island, next to Greenland, that died 9,000 ago, That's almost 3,000 years after Hancock claims a comet landed right on their heads.
The glass and micro-diamonds he uses as evidence for a comet aren't found in a single layer at multiple corresponding timeline sites. The findings are scattered and in different strata and sometimes not there at all; when and where they should be if what he claims is correct.
More recent studies of the impact crater puts the time at the soonest 38,000 years ago. That's 20,000 years after the event. Read currently published peer reviewed journals, not magazines, blogs or take on face value TH-cam videos. Peer reviewed journals state evidence for and against claims, something Hancock refuses to do.
Instead of addressing evidence he deflects and blames "academia" for being "closed minded". He blames them of "hiding the past from you". When the truth is he is hiding evidence from you.

He claims the Sphinx was pointed to the constellation Leo during an ancient past, due to the procession of the equinox. Indicating it is much older than "they" say.
The EGYPTIANS DID NOT USE THE CONSTELLATION OF THE ZODIAC!. They had a completely different cosmology and astronomy belief system. The Constellation of the Zodiac was a Babylonian construct; and at a much later time than the Sphinx. The Zodiac wasn't adopted by the Egyptians till the Greco Roman Era. He has been corrected but continues to make this assertion, probably thinking his believers won't check on it.
Plus real astronomers (Krupp Griffith Park Observatory) says that the Zodiac was in the constellation Virgo at the time Graham claims.
He has had this pointed out to him, but he continues to repeat his debunked assertions. If he admitted otherwise it would debase his ""the Sphinx is older then "they" say"" assertion.

Watch out, he is a skilled and manipulative liar who works off of skepticism and the uneducated. Plenty of academics have spent hours debunking so many of his claims, can even find TH-cam videos debunking his Netflix show.

He’s not hating on politics, imo, he’s just saying it doesn’t need to exist for us to thrive. But we tend to think otherwise because the majority of us can not fathom a world without government/politics and we’ve never experienced anything like a world without politics so it’s difficult to convince people of that notion.
Everyone complains about the government and the problems of the world but they really don't do anything to change themselves or help others. No wonder why the system is becoming more and more corrupt. People ask the government to fix things but they don't see that it's them who should take the responsibility to fix it. Then throw in insane levels of taxation and we are all having a blast.

Plato absoloutely believed in the rule of the few and in terms of the quote he was speaking to those who actually had the freedom to vote in Rome, not the general populace. His quote is a WARNING to those in power that if they are not involved in politics and the governing of people, that they would instead give up their freedom and be governed by those with the power.
