Thank you Vlad for having Mr, Thompson as a guest. This was one of the most fascinating conversations. His life story is interesting and informative. I wishn him luck. 😊
This is by far the best and most authentic interview I have witnessed in this genre. Micheal blew me away, I will watch this countless times for sure....articulate, genuine, and intelligent.... blew me away !
The part where he said u don’t have time to think about emotions because your to busy trying to adapt to being in prison says so much about how your life can switch in one second
This was by far my favorite interview yet. He's extremely genuine. I don't even question what he's saying. I really hope he beats that case. Best wishes Michael. Great interview Vlad.✌🏻💯
I agree, great interview subject. Mr. Thompson seems like a very likeable, interesting man. But he did the majority of his life in prison for a crime he says he didn't commit. It doesn't actually make any difference to me if he did do it, he's done his time and lived to tell the story. But it's way too late to talk about him beating the case, the system has already punished him for it.
He did 30 years in the hole. How he isn't insane is quite incredible. I had a friend spend 6 months of his 5 years in solitary and he was never the same. It is an existence I would never ever want to experience
This guy is proof that you don't know who you're dealing with all the time in this life. This dude sounds like he should be narrating documentaries. Treat everyone you encounter in this life with respect.
I have watched few of his documentaries. I always find him to be a very charming and highly intelligent person. He never seem upset or angry. He always calmed and relax, even when explained about his prison fights.
I can’t believe o watched the whole thing, man this was a real good interview! I always seen this guy so when I seen him on the thumbnail, I had to give it a watch
He gives the game away at 18:19 when he says the prison gangs were all about controlling their resources. This usually means funneling the resources to the top at the expense of everyone else. This also applies to national politics. The racism is just used as a catalyst for division and social control.
In the very first answer about being exposed to racism in his childhood I understood what he was talking about when he said the natives were racist against him. One of my childhood-adolescent friend's mom lived on a reservation and was a full Mohawk (my friend's dad had primary custody and did not live on the res and was not native). When we would go visit her I (being Caucasian) would be called "White Bread" and various racist names by the native kids and teens on the res. It was the first time I had experienced racism as a target and it felt awful. I can't imagine how people feel going through life dealing with that regularly. Racism is such a horrible part of our world.
I'm black, Lenape and Seminole, and I've definitely seen it myself too. But not towards me, but towards white friends. And when I lived in Hawaii, it was pretty rough for some white folks there.
This guy has a library of information in his head. Hes seen so much of what ( hopefully) most of us will never know. Thank the gods! I love listening to him speak. Hes so contemplative, so wise, the way he presents himself you would never know hed been in prison for 45 years. Thank you for telling us your experience, sir.
what an absolute giant of a being...in all ways physically and spiritually. America has more people incarcerated than almost every other country combined...Land of the free my ass, what an absolute shame that a political system can do this to one of our brothers, it saddens me to no end just trying to comprehend what happens to people that are wrongly accused of crimes. There has to be a better way . This poor individual was send to hell and back numerous times but yet he rose above it, thank your insight amigo you have humbled me. I hope you are left in peace for the rest of your days
Here i thought my life has been so hard since 1965.....UNTIL Mike mentioned he was in 18 knife fights and shot multiple times, my grandmother was always right.....that there is always someone that has it much worse than us ! Very best wishes to Mike and so glad he made it out alive too !!!!
I think this is the best interview I have ever seen. Very much respect. Everybody can call him a rat but he stood with what he believed in and I respect that !
Well he was the goog kind of rat. Stood for white he believed in. Instead of most rats who just have no loyalty to anything and ironically are usually the worst degenerates. Weak men with huge egos and no code they live by. That is not this guy.
@@sirvilhelmofyonderland Sure but he has served his time. Everybody deserves a second chance. The reason he got parole at all is all the positive work he has done on the inside trying to reform other violent people.
If I only watch the last 25 minutes of this interview about his POV on current world situation & life after prison, I would've thought this is a social scholar. He went into prison before even finishing middle school and was a top-notch killing machine and came out as a life coach. What a life.
@@werewolf3954 ahh I thought that mighta been what u meant. Either way his life is fucking crazy. Went to jail for 45 years for murders he didn't do, became what he had to become, rose the ranks, then didn't snitch to get out of jail but informed because he didn't like what they became.

I was with this man at Lancaster state prison. It’s an understatement to say that he commanded respect! Even from the cops!!! He’s a real one the last of a dying breed. Very humble man when I was with him…
Part of my family was part of pen1 and we were of both races. What this guy says is true. Never been affiliated but then locked up my name made me head of multiple races.
I opened the Reg yard in Lancaster (Level 4). Never saw this guy anywhere. He must have moved over the SNY or dropped down to Level III. He knows the real deal. Hopefully, he didn't go SNY. Some people break it down. I did almost 45 and never tapped out.
I did seven years in prison; and of my experience in prison, I can honestly say that some of the intelligent and articulate people in The World are serving time in prison. This guy demonstrates that notion. He is very articulate and can definitely understand a situation and explain it well. Good interview.
Lol thats fn bs... Iam sure there is a few intelligent people locked up but most of them are as dumb as a rock. Some foos learn how to speak well and make other people think theyre super smart lol
I would truly love to meet this man, I've seen documentaries on him for a long time now and was always curious if he would ever get out of prison. I'm a U.S. Marine and I have served three tours overseas, this man went through a war in his life and never left home. I really love his honesty, steadfastness, determination, boldness and the fact that he won't back down or be pushed around by anybody. He stands up for his beliefs and doesn't hesitate to let you know where he stands. I am so glad that you finally got out and long may it be so. I wish you the best!
This was a wonderful interview. The last part that Mr. Thompson said about three strikes carries a lot of truth. This former ex-convict and gang leader spoke so elegant without any profanity. Hope he continues to fight for non-violence.
Nah, he was more concerned with scamming people in California out of their money. Thats why he was rearrested and is awaiting trial yet again for being a con man. Still impressed with him?
@84kjk He's absolutely off. I totally get what you're saying. He's a charlatan, a snake oil salesman...basically, the con man that he's always been. I know he was not born on any "rez" like he claims, either. My short impression: he's a scumbag
Like many others, I saw Michael years ago on Nat Geo and I remember being utterly impressed by his intellect and integrity. They showed a picture of him when he came in and he looked like a human grizzly bear. Seeing him now get out is almost surreal. I believe he was wrongfully accused on murder. The fact that he is even sane is absolutely amazing!!
It’s wild seeing a vlad interview with this man i remember watching a documentary on him like 5 years ago dude is a straight hitter nothing but respect seeing him finally released big Mike🤘🏻
I think Michael is and inspiring individual. My husband said the hardest thing he ever had to do was adjust to life in prison and the second hardest was adjusting to life when he got out. That struggle is extremely real so keep up the good work. One day at a time
It's definitely not easy at first but once you find a routine it helps a lot I really figured out who I was in there and turned my life around thankfully
Sounds like he's conned you too , into believing he's a good guy. He's one of the biggest snitch con artists in the history if the United States. They used to hide him in soda machines to bring him into court to testify against countless people, he's responsible for putting countless amounts of people into the shu for years on end . He finally got released and scammed a bunch of homeless people out of their identities. He conned his x wife out off alot of money to start a scam business. What an inspirational guy!

Amazing how this man has come through 45 years imprisonment with the worst of the worst and yet seems very stable minded and articulate. Obviously a very tough minded individual, very engaging. The man seems in complete control of himself and his every word is meaningful. For someone who couldn’t read and write he sure has a fine command of the English language.Fascinating interview.
Definitely a strong minded person. Not to many individuals that have his mental fortitude. Just by the way he explains everything he has done without reservation shows he has a moral compass. While people may not agree with some of the things he has done, I understand where he is coming from.
This is one of the most amazing interviews I have ever watched. This man is extremely intelligent . Imagine if the path he chose was on the good side of the law . He would be one hell of a politician honest and true to what he belives to be right.
Are you serious? He`s lying his ass off. I guess he would be a good politician if he can fool people that easy. He`s waiting to go to court for some kind of covid relief fund scam.

I hope he can live a normal life on the outside but he's institutionalized and that's all the life he knows. He need's to write a book on his life and then have a movie made about him. @@trev970 it will go away just take time and believe in god and your life will fall in place! Society doesn't understand when you lock up a bunch of troubled men in the same place nothing good will happen! And after you've served your time and paid your debt to society you still continue to pay your debt to society with a felony on your record! In the 90s laws were put in place to turn prison into a business and that hasn't changed! Some prisons have quotas to keep their incarceration rate above 90% or they lose funding! So basically you incentivize the system to lock people up!!!! Good luck and Time heals all wounds!!!
So we're just gonna believe that he "didn't murder anyone"? Sure.... Apparently, the prosecution said that the kidnapping allegations were made up by thompson so he could get with the guys wife. And the 2nd guy was just at the wrong place at the wrong time, and they killed him anyways. The other dude Thompson was with told the same story, that he was innocent and the other guy (thompson) did it. Classic. None of us know what really happened but we should take everything these people say with a BIG grain of salt, especially when you're not doing your own research.
They got documentaries he's done when he was a little younger on here. He's a different breed he's more about his beliefs and what he thinks is right and wrong rather than going with what is said or ordered. Plus he didn't let the greed get to him which shows what type of man he really is.
@@TattooDallas didn’t let greed get to him ? He was arrested for running a millions of dollars scam last year , that involved signing homeless people up for unemployment and stealing the funds that’s pretty low , I don’t really mind the other part which was getting a 1.5 mil business loan for a non existent business
His calm demeanor is something to behold, especially considering his incredibly violent and bloody history. And while I know he kept active while in prison he looks surprisingly healthy and young for a man his age. With the crap food and stressful environment you would think he'd look like hell. Guess it's his thoughtful attitude and discipline that helped him.
Don't forget that people with good Financial situations in prison very rarely eat prison food because they go to canteen or commissary and stock their cells.
Crap food in prison? That's why the us military receives boxes of food saying rejected from x penitentiary and not fit for human consumption... eating better food in prison than soldiers, airmen, marines and sailors. Source: personally unloading trucks into base galleys and submarines.

Do you even realize how much of a pathological liar Michael Thompson is? Almost every single story he tells is complete nonsense. In every situation he's the good guy, and it's always a miraculous story of how he beat up "six guys with knives" or some other bs. To this day he still won't own up to murdering the husband & wife in California, which originally got him sent to prison in the 70's.

I`ve just finished watching this video and I`m still trying to process what I`ve just listened to. There are so many layers to his story that I don´t really know where to begin. One thing that pops in my mind is that his story is a testamant to what some human beings are capable of coping with. I have no idea how many people worldwide could go through what he went through and emerge mentally intact, but this number has to be very small. I take my hat off to this man for enduring the unthinkable and becoming the person he is today.
I don't dispute any of that. But convicts have two favorite subjects. The first is how badass they are, and the second is how everything they ever did was justified. Just be aware of that when you listen to one.

It exists in all races

And this man spent 45 years in prison and he is so composed......cant help but like him.....dont care what he did...we are all just human beings in the school of Earth......we are here to learn and suffer...and i would say this man has had plenty of both. Thank you
Much respect to this guy right here, 💯 always like hearing his story’s and actual yard fights and battles he’s been through happy he now gets to actually live his life what’s left of it anyways can never get all the years back lost behind bars live your life and God bless
i heard he just got busted for unemployment fraudnand facing time again
@@thedamon221 he did. He'll probably go back for a while. Maybe he won't. It would suck having this few years of freedom and then die in prison. It just shows prison is a school for thieves.
Why do you care ?
He's back in prison now
Do you even realize how much of a pathological liar Michael Thompson is? Almost every single story he tells is complete nonsense.
In every situation he's the good guy, and it's always a miraculous story of how he beat up "six guys with knives" or some other bs.
To this day he still won't own up to murdering the husband & wife in California, which originally got him sent to prison in the 70's.
This man speaks so well, could be a history orator and his recall of names and his truthfulness as in his story of the attack in the garden and down playing it shows a humbleness from experience.
People like this district attorney will get what's coming to them. I wish Michael and his wife the best, and there is plenty of support out here for you and your family.
Ya. These corrupt lawyers..They have addresses and names. Another one, Stephen Beatty Esq., public defender for Baltimore city for over a decade. Got many a good white man locked up just for being white. Will sue anyone not POC over racism any time. Parasites.
I need to see justice. It's time we all take action.
@@TravisTellsTruths Kook Alert.. lol
@@lupefiasco9476 why because I want real justice? Hmmmm
I wish Mr. Thompson well.
@@teastrainer3604hit the nail the head bro
Seen this guy on lock up. Hands down one of the most interesting people featured on the show.
Can you recall the title.

Incredible interview.. I remember Mr. Thompson, in a documentary about AB while he was in prison.
Yup ,never ever thought they'd release him.👍
Excellent interview Vlad, Mr. Thompson is such a fascinating man to talk to despite all.
Respect for Mr Thompson...for his guts and his balancing his life in a violent infuses environment. Being native myself and my uncles ( 5 in number who have all passed on) being members of local gangs, I have seen some of this life first hand. My uncles were great, loving men, but life was such back then in my tribal land. Thanks Vlad..
Best video I've seen in quite awhile regarding incarceration, prison gangs and resolve.
I hired pier 5 for my case and I'll never ever regret it. Randolph Daar, my lawyer has and always will have my upmost respect and friendship. My best wishes to Mr. Thompson in his case.
I knew this man when he was housed in the Restricted Housing unit and again when he was housed semi-mainline on a Sensitive Needs Yard (SNY). He is an intelligent well spoken man with a remarkable memory.
Fantastic interview and interviewee, his story deserves to be made into a movie,,guaranteed Oscar winner with the right people behind it….👍👍👍👍

Amazing interview, thank you.
Great interview, he genuinely seems like a changed man and can be a valuable asset with youth.
Now he is back in prison
@@ericpieper1704 D’oh!!!!
@@ericpieper1704 is he really back in prison ?
@@b.b.4411 that was a year ago fact check shit before you speak
A year after release. Changed to check fraud just was rereleased. Muahaha
Props to this guy sticking with his convictions. This is old school thinking. Thieves with honor, not touching civilians and sticking to your word. They don't make em like this anymore
This was a great interview. Interesting man
Best interview I've ever seen on here.
He's been through so much and yet is such a gentleman. I admire him and wish him success and peace.
Maybe he's a gentleman coz he's gone through so much..he's matured
He so mature he got re-arrested and is being charged with fraud.
@@Lifewithemerson323 oh dear! Looks like he's stuck in his ways.
@@Lifewithemerson323hat was 2 years before this interview. Still bad nonetheless but hes definitely changed since then, plus its an open case and still all alleged. He literally talks about it in the interview
Amazing live story, end up to love this man! Unbreakable and constant self development!

@@nickmitchell6443 Because this guy got exposed by his daughter Lol
He’s a rat 🐀
Yea let's believe his fkn daughter haha. You're a fool.
This man has a precedence over you when he speaks. He's captivating. What an amazing story. Respect.
Guess that's why he became a leader
I don't think he has precedence over everyone. Only the weak ,narrow, closed-minded types.
@@JK-lp6uw Looks like we got a tough guy over here...
Imagine going to prison in the 70s at 22 n coming home in 2020 at nearly 70 yrs old..this guy spent more time behind bars then free n he’s maintained his innocence since day one n didn’t sound bitter or angry at any moment in this interview
Indeed. He displayed a Zen-like outlook despite his past trauma.
Imagine living around such animalistic violence all that time.
Man great interview. The Okays kill the flow. Let’s keep growing.
Fantastic interview! He's extremely genuine and very well spoken.
Don't forget what he is!
@@Redpillroost3rWhat he was you mean.
Genuine? You would have been one of his many, many victims. His voice and his seeming sincerity are two of his most powerful weapons. His manner is Bob Ross disarming. He looks like a puppy until he's got his jaws clamped around your neck. That's when you finally realize two things: that he's actually a wolf and that it's too late to do anything about it.

I think from everything he's said, that LEARNING to read and write in prison was the key point for him to become what he is today and also ONE of the basic foundations for all the other things he did and continues to do in life, as it did for me, I wish he were asked what books or literature he read while in prison that had in IMPACT on him, and his thinking. Good books and practice can lead you basically out of any despair or bad situation, that's been my experience. All that turning and testifying etc etc, had to come after many small changes of perspective and adjustments of thinking.
