i remember trying watch it while i was in middle school not liking it, years later i tried it again and it's in my top 5 anime shows. it's just about being mature enough to have interest and understanding of depth, and trying to ignore all the nuances that come with this genre.

It's more of a cerebral, less action-oriented anime, which might not be for everyone, but if you can appreciate a show like that, Death Note is one of the best ever. Some are suggesting watching the dub. While Death Note's dub is one of the best (/one of the few that make more than 0 sense to watch), sub is still a lot better. By all means try both and go with what you guys prefer.

Try to watch Death Note in Dub! I always watch animes with subtitles but to me Death Note is the only one where watching in Dub is honestly way better and engaging! Voice actors are really good
