And just as Aot's 4 season was animated by Mappa, Vinland's 2nd season's animated by Mappa. Wit just loves starting new projects and handing them over to mappa.

Thorfinn and Eren are such well written characters and are as much alike as completely opposite. The parallels between them are quite interesting Have fun, this is a very very good story and personally having some danish blood in me, engaged me even more and the historical events (even tho there not perfectly true (like vikings "the show")), it's pretty much (in the big lines) a part of the real story of the vikings.

987 to 1002. 15 years. Also a lot of the characters are based on real historical people and major events are fairly accurate, but theres artistic liberties taken to better fit those aspects with the story being told.
I can't wait for you guys to experience the amazing character development of the main character and those he brings along with him throughout the latter half of the show. I think this story does a great job of showing the difference between people's willingness to change. Some turn their life in the opposite direction as before, while others remain the same without considering the viewpoints of the other side. This is one of my favourite animes/mangas along with AOT and a few others.

For all its symbolic importance, Vinland is a very real place. Somewhere in Newfoundland. While there is some artistic license taken, the manga the anime is based on is pretty historically accurate 😊

Regarding Ronnie's comment on realism - yes the show is mostly realistic, however for some of the superhuman feats the explanation can be found in the old viking sagas, which often exaggerated certain historical figures and feats to create a powerful story. The anime has taken some of those in its interpretation of history, which makes it so unique and fun, and perfect for the animation medium. Super keen to see the rest of this series, hope you enjoy!

This anime is based on the Vinland Sagas, which are 13th century Icelandic epic texts about events that happened 2 centuries prior. They are historical, but not always accurate and they exaggerate the strength of many characters (it wasn't just the anime that came up with that).
Believe me when I say that you shouldn't be blinded by the first episodes. For most people Vinland Saga is one of the best pieces of media and while Season 1 was truly a great Season, Season 2 is literally as good as Season 1, if not better.
I don't know how historically accurate the show is but Thorfinn and Leif Ericson have existed in real life, don't search em up tho...you're gonna get spoiled!
A little tip for this show the time stamps are pretty important to keep track of the story Also if yall want to watch a show dubbed sometime I would say this and Naruto are your best bets
