Graphic is nice, but if you watch Dash Blue's videos, you know it has lots of problematic with the depiction of Japanese architecture, culture, and more. Shallow developers understanding, they seem to just go for the Japanese 'look', not quite more beyond that.
I thought I heard them say something along that line with Assassin's Creed Mirage already. I guess probably more for the franchise rather than Ubisoft itself. Either way, I agree and expect the same thing to happen.
5:03 they still didn't fix the CULTURAL/HISTORIC stuff like the 2 opposing fish on the rooftops (Shachihoko). In the game, every rooftop has one pair, while historically they would be placed only atop the highest point, on the castle roof. That castle sure is VERY protected against evil spirits and such. Probably to ward of haters and players who root for Ubi's downfall.
No, I recently visited Himeji castle and they had a pair on the roof of many buildings. Obviously the biggest pair was at the top of the keep but you could find pairs on the roof of other towers and some random low buildings. In fact the keep itself had more than one pair. Also they're not protecting against random evil spirits, they're supposed to protect against fire specifically. And with those castles being 80% wood you better believe that was a major concern.

@@datemike1184 I take it you've not been a fan for long then, Assassin's Creed has hardly even been Assassin's Creed for a long time now. Nowadays they're basically just For Honor clones, but as an RPG.
There is something about Naoe's animations that's really off. If you look at the grapple climbing it looks so weird. The best way I can describe it is the animation frame is not smooth? Example would be like an NPC doing an animation but kind of a background animation at a distance and they do like the most basic of animations to save resources. Like it just doesn't feel smooth when she's climbing the grapple at 3:47. Why did they also put so much motion blur in her animation as well at 9:04? To make her seem fast? Like trying to fit a circular figure into a square hole
The thing is the dev team can make the game be as fictional or as devoted to history as they want, but flip-flopping like that just to get some biased message out is pitiful

@DantesHQ I've been around the block a few times. At best, it'll be aggressively average, but due to delays and how heavily edited the trailers are, it looks like they're trying to hide poor optimization and bugs. It's their trailer, after all. They're not going to show the game in an honest light.
I hope we get an all new 15 year development timeline for a quintuple A product. This game will have NFTs, pre-order missions and AI generated voice actors for the unholy trinity of Ubisoft design.
One thing id also like to see in triple A games whenever they advertise seasons, is to have the seasons change while you play. Not just when the story sees fit and you have a loading screen to separate it. With the tech now, surely they could have the seasons change slowly over time.

Unity might be the last really good AC game. It had a ton of issues but I think the world that was built is one of the best. For some Brotherhood was the last good one. Either way, those last 2 were around when AC ended, for me anyways. Origins and up though? Enjoyable or not those, at least to me, were no longer Assassins Creed games. Might as well just create a new IP at that point instead of trying to tie it down to all of this to AC.
Splinter Cell 1 was great, the follow-ups were alright Rainbow Six Rogue Spear was absolute peak, Rogue Spear 3 was okay through but anything after is cancer. Only the first Ghost Recon was amazing, the rest did not feel like Ghost Recon. Assassin's Creed got stale after the 2nd game. Prince of Persia SoT was a good game for the time, the rest sucked.
Unity, I will never forget my disappointment during that era of gaming. I returned it the next day when I ran into the cluster fuck of bugs that game was. Even Batman Arkham Knight required a huge patch day one but at least they had it.

6:23 yes it does. This is how AC started. From prince of Persia. From a guy passionately telling on E3 about their new parkour tech. This is core feature of AC it has to be good. Running around the city from a certain time period is why a lot of ppl play the game

Why did they also put so much motion blur in her animation as well at 9:04? To make her seem fast? It just looks like she's a blurry mess.
