    Interesting to see one in action, thanks for that! I just sweep mine out with a dustpan and brush leaving an inch layer of ash inside as my old chimney sweep told me that wood likes to burn on its own ashes.

      @huskyvacs 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The ashes act as an insulator to keep the fire hot, yes, and the little bits of wood in the ash make kindling. Just don't leave so much or you will make a fire hazard. Remember to keep your chimney clean from creosote too.

    There are so many of these little utility vacs and Karcher seems to be the only people that can make a decent reliable one.

    Looks like a quite useful machine actually. I had one of those glorified 10l food cans with a filter in it where you'd have to connect your hoover for suction. It kept clogging after only 30 seconds of use, and eventually, the suction led the can to bend inwards due to a blocked hose. The one you tested looks way different and more thought through, I might give that another try.

    I think the filter cleaning mechanism is called Tact and diverts airflow over the filter to blow the dust/ashes off it, which it can do as you insert the hose into top aperture at the same time, keeping everything contained. Real fires/log burners are lovely but very messy, and you wouldn’t want the muck into your daily vacuum. This is a great idea!

      Wood ash will absolutely destroy a vacuum cleaner in less than a few days. It is very abrasive, sticky, smelly, and also flammable. This is why there are special vacuums for ash debris.

    Only way to keep the filter from clogging is to add Dust Deputy Deluxe Cyclone Separator Kit. It comes with tall cyclone, hose and bin. Just make sure you get the version with the bin. 99% of the ash goes to the cyclone bin.

    The self-cleaning thing/button sounds like a gimmick 😠; the vacuum cleaner is being suffocated by putting the nozzle in the hole in the lid [the hole being a cap = effectively sealing the nozzle] same effect as blocking it with your hand, the grey button is linked to a damper/valve that when opened, causes the air to short-circuit back through the vacuum fan & motor while blowing against the rear of the filter trying to pulse the dust off the filter. Despite what the instructions said, I assume the button has to be rapidly pushed to pulse the air flow “banging” the dust off the filter ~ if you do it for too long you risk overheating the motor. My friend has a workshop version of this karcher and I have tried using the self-clean button, but I think there is enough turbulence in the bin to kick-up the dust and re-coat the filter when you next use it

    Ehm the filter cleaning has to be quicker pushing it fast about 10 times in few seconds by short amounts of air blasting through it to shake it clean this is too long so it doesnt shake it of

      Not according to the instructions.
      Insert the handle of the suction hose into the filter cleaning system connection on the device head.
      Press the filter cleaning button three times with the device switched on, waiting 4 seconds between the individual actuations.

      @@ibaisaicthe instructions are wrong, I have a nilfisk attix with the same filter clean system, you only get a short blast of air as the press the button, it’s the number of times you hit the button not how long you hold it down for.

      But I learned to read many years ago and I tend to follow the instructions printed by the manufacturer of the product. I also know that Nilfisk and Karcher are different brands and produce different machines.

    No matter how many times I show my mother how to clean the filters on her bagless vacuums, she never bothers and just keeps using the vacuum even when its all clogged up, so I end up having to clean the filters when I go over there. If your mother is anything like mine, I bet she uses it and uses it, and only relies on that useless "filter cleaning" system, and then wonders why it wont pick anything much up after a couple of uses. She will probably use it a few times till it clogs up and loses airflow, then put it away somewhere and forget about it, going back to the old fashioned way of cleaning the fire out. That filter is useless to be honest, a very bad design, and the faff involved to clean it out every single time the machine is used will end up putting your mother off using it.

      I expect hundreds if not thousands of foreign companies do business in and with Russia. You are also wrong regarding
      Kärcher as the website I’ve looked at states that they have suspended exports to Russia and have halted investments.
