Have you actually watched the Karcher how to use video. The blue filter is the water filter which you don’t need to use whilst your using it as a normal hoover coz you have a bag to collect the mess to which you obviously wouldn’t use with water extraction hence why the bag then comes out and water filter goes on if anyone reads this don’t waste your time go to the proper karcher video on TH-cam before you beak your new machine
The majority of vacuum cleaners that use a bag also have a filter before the motor. Leaving the course foam filter in place while dry vacuuming will not cause harm to the machine but it will prevent debris entering the motor should the bag split. The instructions state to clean the foam filter after wet use, let it dry and then re-insert. The instructions do not say to remove the blue filter when you have fitted a bag and they also mention that for improved filtration you can buy the optional cartridge filter. In the FAQ section of Karcher’s website it says “ We recommend using a filter bag when vacuuming fine dusts. When dry vacuuming using the foam filter, always use a filter bag in addition. Do not use a filter bag when wet vacuuming.”
The filter is made out of foam for versatility, both wet and dry. Without the filter, the smallest particles will go straight into the engine and defy gravity - eventually build up and damage your motor. The slightøy larger ones will exit the exhaust and spread everywhere, those are the ones that gives lung issues. Not to mention this is a residential shop-vac. Barely reaching the L-dust class. You seriously go around vacuuming your workshop/garage without a filter because you think the bag is gonna take it all?
Perfect description mate! You should do it as a professional salesman! Great video, great diction. There is no "yyyy aaaa mmmm". Awesome. Keep going mate! 🎉
Thank you. Bought one today and turning on a cellphone is complicated for me 😂😂😂. I watched your video and set mine up easily. Looking forward to cleaning.... but tomorrow! Time for bed 😴😴😴 Thank you for the video!!! ❤❤❤
I finally got my Karcher SE 4001 today. I can't wait to wash my couch and mattress. Thank you soooooo much for this video. It explains everything very clear👍
I have the bigger SE6100 and I’ve always used it only for cleaning my mattress and carpets. Never thought of using it for cleaning hard floor as it is bulky. Thanks for showing that it is good for washing hard floors too.
If you are looking to get either a 4001 or a 4002 i'd recommend the 4002 due to the following: The 4002 has the entire spray system integrated into the hose, extention tubes and all the extaction attachments, this makes setting it up and swapping out attachments alot easier. The downside of that is that if a part of the spraying system becomes faulty then its harder to replace. The 4002's handle is also alot less bulky, if you compare pictures of the 4001 and the 4002 then it looks like the handle in combination with the extraction attachment is a bit longer, mure bulky and in a less ergonomic shape on the 4001, another win for the 4002. Performance wise they have the same wattage and they also have the same suction power. 4002 is on sale often and comes with the upholstery extraction attachment included, if you want this with the 4001 then you would either have to buy it seperate or order the 4001 plus. Another point for the 4002.
I would like to buy this for home use, and use it mostly on hard floors for vacuuming dirt and hairs and cleaning stains at the same time. I don't have any carpets and only a few couches and mattresses. I would use it to clean floors and bathroom tiles, maybe furniture with the squeegee attachment? I wonder if this would be a good choice for me.
after borrowing a Vax platinum to clean a mat that the dog had christened ! ( big klunky and so LOUD !!) the Vax not the dog. , we`ve ordered the Karcher ,great video and well explained.
Thanks for this video, great review. Very informative and to the point. I was not sure whether to buy it or not, but you helped me to make a decision and I am waiting for a delivery now.
Your video saved me just in time from sending it back to the shop and ordering a different model. I could not get the fluid tube to attach to the spray head and the manual didn't clearly explain the locking device like your video does. I felt if pushed it any harder something would break and I reported the part as faulty to the retailer. Also the tank connector nozzle looks as if it doesn't fit home properly. The hose clips are really mickey - you know they're going to fall off in use and while using the dust vacuum function, I found that they do. The first time I started the pump it sounded like a bag of marbles rattling and nothing happened. I left it and then after watching your video tried it without the spray head attached and the pump sounded and worked normally, pushing water out of the end of the tube. So I reassembled and, fingers tentatively crossed, it appears to be working. However, the experience hasn't exactly enamoured me of the make and model and I now wish I'd bought a Thomas or a Vacmaster.
Looks like a nice unit! Keep in mind that airflow is also very important for good cleaning so even though the suction might be average it may have much better airflow than other units.
We have a little bigger Kärcher than this but for car/garage use and normal wet/dry model. And it haves very good suction actually. Depends on model of course...
The carpet will always be damp after washing and the time it take to dry will depend on the carpet, the temperature of the room and how thorough you were at going over the carpet with suction only after applying the solution.
Looks like Karcher got their inspiration for that machine from the Pneumatic George machine. Looks very similar in design including the internal bucket and handle, bag, etc, although the George is much more well built than this machine. I do really like how that handle on the Karcher clicks into place and locks the top. I have a George which aren't real popular here in the USA but I love my George. It's both an excellent vacuum (the primary way I use it) and as an upholstery extractor (used that way a couple times per year). I got my George strictly for my car detailing after seeing several detailing professionals in the UK and Australia using them. Overall the Karcher looks like a decent unit and it definitely did a great job on that carpet. Is this unit cheaper than a George? I have a Karcher K5 Pressure washer and I am very happy with it, so if someone wanted to stick with one manufacturer, this would probably be a good option, but for me.....nothing beats that George machine. Have you ever found a dual unit like these that is more powerful than the George?
Thanks for all your great videos, but you need to have an airflow gauge, as well as your vacuum gauge, so you can combine the two numbers, in order to get the true power of the unit.
how does the airflow gauge actually help with "true power"? really curious wht's your point here. i've always used it only to free curtains easier from the nozzle without stopping the vacuum
@@Ris-v4w If you take a vacuum pump it can usually produce a vacuum over 0.500 bar but the airflow isn't more then 50-100 litre / min and it does not work for vacuum cleaning, but it does work for lifting using a suction cup. Whereas a small industrial dust extractor have only 0.02-0.03 bar of vacuum but the airflow is more than 5000 litre / min and it works exceptional for cleaning. The reason for the relatively high vacuum in a domestic cleaner is because of the small hoses. If you need to clean e.g. small nails of the floor you need lots of airflow.
Thank you so much for the video For me I don't trust companies that uses filters for the hard floor cleaners because that means buying filters from time to time
Hello thanks for the amazing video. This is the only detailed video i found. I have a question. Does the upholstery attachment can be attached to Karcher wd 4 or 5?
Just bought a 4001 - great video. I found carpet cleaner average - perhaps i am not spraying enough solution on. Do you permanently spray solution on whilst using the cleaner OR spray / leave for 5 minutes and then use cleaner
You can pre spay the area for stubborn stains and heavy traffic areas. Machines like this tend to perform worse than upright carpet washers that have revolving brushes.
