      @@HearingClub Tomorrow the Sr Technician at Costco; is going to program my new Jabra Pro 20 for both Ears. And I bought an "Android" Phone.
      So I can program myself. But some of the features will not be there I'm told. But I do NOT want a iPhone...
      So, what do we do; to get those features you have taught us? Or we must go without?

    I got the 20s shortly after they arrived. I think the connectivity is better. I can move further from my phone without sound distortion. The sound is great! I mostly stay in the all around program and let it auto-adjust, but occasionally use music and outdoor. I prefer outdoor with noise filter in noisy indoor places over the hear in noise program, so far. The tap to answer is convenient when I’m not attached to my phone and someone is calling. Charger works great and I seem to have more battery left at the end of the day than with the 10s…maybe 10-20%.

    I got my first HAs on Nov 21. Went with the Jabra Pro 20's from Costco. Being my very first HAs, I don't have any comparisons to offer. I was a little worried because that same day we went down to Las Vegas for Thanksgiving week. Yes... I broke-in my first HAs in Las Vegas casinos. Here to tell ya... I was/am amazed at my newly discovered super power....hearing! I am so happy with them. My family, friends and coworkers are all saying I'm talking quieter and engaging more in conversations. I read all the time about the, "should have done it years ago" type comments, but it stands true for me. Thank you so much for your channel and the invaluable information you provide for newbies like my self.

    My husband got his today. He had his hearing test back in August but we held off till the 20 came out. We will be getting hearing aid coverage with new health insurance in Jan but went ahead and bought now since Costco prices are so great and they are not in network. We were scheduled to pick them up in in 3 wks but the aids came in the next day after we ordered them. We were told they are being delivered much faster than other brands. They work very well but my husband has itching and watery eye on one side for some reason. Rextons don't do this to him. I am really hoping he can get it resolved because I am loving being able to communicate with him again. Also, for those who may have purchased the Pro 10's within the previous 3 mos, our Costco said they can be exchanged for the 20's. Money well spent.

      so i had really itchy ear canals when i first got my hearing aids. you can go on amazon and order something called "comfort ear" it does wonders for itchy ear canals. I only had to use it for a couple of weeks, then the itching stopped. However, when i get new domes, the itchiness comes back. I believe for me, once the domes get coated with the oils and wax from my canals, the itch just goes away. try that comfort ear but first, just to be safe, I would check with the doc and make sure its safe for him to use.

    • @patsytankersley1372
      @patsytankersley1372 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks, will try that. Funny that its only one ear. The Rexton brand didnt cause itching so thought it might be an allergy but Costo says the material is the same. I really think the canals are different sizes. The itchy side aid is working itself out now so we called Costco and they are mailing larger domes to try since we are 2.5 hrs away The aids are wonderful, so nice to have a normal conversation again.. @@HearingClub

      @@HearingClub That's what I was told. Apparently there is no information available about life with the high power receivers. What really sucks about Costco is how long it takes to get tested and then a fitting with another month wait for a follow-up. Takes almost 4 months for a pair around here now and seems to be getting worse.

    Got my Jabra 20s at Costco a couple weeks ago and like them a lot. I do notice the high frequency seems a little harsh but it is crystal clear. I think it's something I'll get used to. Also, I can pair them to my phone (Android 11), but cannot get them to stream. The manual says to hold the button for 2 seconds to connect, but nothing happens. I'll follow up with Costco on this at my next appointment.

    I got my Jabra Enhance Pro 20's from my Costco in December. It DID take two weeks to get them, as you said, primarily because that's when my fitter had the time. As for the BRIGHT sound profile, coming from the Kirkland 9's ( and a couple others before that going back to 2008), it can be JARRING to say the least. I had my fitter tone it down a bit, but I am hearing things with these that I haven't heard before. Case in point: I have a wifi camera system around the house that plays through a monitor with a hard drive for recording video. I mentioned to my wife that there was a clicking sound coming from it, and that it was ANNOYING! She said, "It's always made that sound, you're able to hear it now. It's not new." Overall I'm please, but am going in today (2/8/24) for another adjustment to hopefiully take care of some feedback issues.

      theres an advanced feature called DFS (digital feedback suppresion) that can be increased to help with feedback but really, it comes down to the calibration, you may need a more occluding dome to lock in that sound that keeps leaking out. But this is great! I'm glad you are able to hear these sounds you haven't heard before.

    Brian-I have a vestibular/balance/dizziness condition that is triggered by loud/complex noises. Does the Jabra 20 have any function(s) that would block those noises? Thank you for all you’re doing for this community!

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      So, most of the prescription hearing aids I've fit have this feature called "impulse noise rediction". This feature allows the hearing aids to quickly recognize loud, sudden sounds and knows NOT to amplify these sounds even more. The hearing aids can't BLOCK out loud sounds unless you have fully occluded custom molds. If you use domes, the loud sounds will still enter your ear canal but the hearing aids won't amplify those sounds, making them even louder.

    I am a first time hearing aid wearer and chose the Jabra Enhance pro 20 model. My hearing aid specialist has had trouble getting them set up. On my last visit she concluded that they needed to be replaced. Without getting into too much detail regarding what is not working for me I have a question related to the set up process. My hearing aid specialist selected the 10 channel option on the screen. I believe there were three choices; 7, 10 and 17. I thought that the pro 20's were 17 channels. When I asked why she had chosen the 10 option she said that it did not matter. The problem she was having was getting the REM set up to properly track the audiogram the way the instrument was set up and because of that she concluded replacement was required. I will find out if the replacement pro 20's are any better but I am loosing faith in the skill level of my HIS. My hearing loss is mild to moderate with a peak in the high side around 3k on the right side and a more conventional high frequency loss on the left and after the peak on the right.

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      First of all, those are definitely 17 channel hearing aids. When adjusting them via the fitting software, we, as fitters have the ability to adjust them using 10 or 17 adjustment bands. If she is using 10 adjustment bands to adjust the frequencies, this doesn’t mean she is deactivating the other 7 channels, this simply means she is only using 10 channels to try to adjust the hearing aids.

    Just got my Jabra Pro 20 today. I'm disappointed. I had the Rexton for 5 years. Big difference is the Jabras have to much treble. At times it sounds like a transistor radio. Just got my Jabra E-Pro 20s... and my phone to the jabras, podcast and music streaming to the hearing aids all sound "Tinny" - some of those extra highs. I've just upgraded from the KS-10s - which sounded great on streaming stuff/phone calls. I like the Jabras, until I go to stream or take a phone call. Is there much my fitter at Costco can do the fix this?

    • @HearingClub

      You can actually adjust the settings of the hearing aids using the equalizer to add more low end sound which makes it much better. You can also occlude your ear more by using more occluding domes. This will trap those low frequency sounds better.

    As you know, I have bought the "new" Jabra Pro 20. Mostly of what you said on your Pro 10 video. The Costco Sr Technician was GREAT like you. However, there is a high "Tenor" on EVERY word or music. It's driving me crazy. "He told me to...
    come back, and we will get it right". However, you said on your Pro 20 video; there has been some claims, in those "High Tenor's". He doesn't know about that yet. What is your take on this kind Sir? Because I just spent 1,599.99. And they do not have any more Pro 10's. So I am afraid now.
    What do you think Sir? Do you think the Pro 20; can be programmed that "High "Tenor" out, and still be clear as you said.? I'm so sorry to bother you Bryan. But it seems that you are the ONLY technician; that KNOWS what's going on quickly; In Hearing Aids.

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Haha you aren't bothering me at all Pat. That's exactly what I'm here for... YOU! And yes, it absolutely can be adjusted. You can also adjust it yourself by using the app and the equalizer. Just bring down the "treble" using the equalizer. You can also have your technician reduce the high frequencies. I would probably reduce the gain around 3-8k but let the technician do his thing. Just tell them you don't want so much high frequency gain. Try this out for a week or 2 and if it still bothers you and you don't like it, return them and try a different brand, maybe philips. Just remember, once you return the Jabras, there is no going back to it. They won't let you go back and forth. So give it your best and good luck!!

    Brian, I am very happy with my KS9s since they were reprogrammed for my current hearing loss, with the exception of going through batteries about every day and a half which I assume is due to it using standard Bluetooth with all my youtube and news streaming, so I am looking towards the day when I decide to replace them with rechargeables, but it doesn't look as if any of Costco's current models cover my loss range. Isn't there someplace where I could just plug in my current audiogram which could match me up with which current Costco models can treat my loss, which dips into moderately severe and then profound in the high frequencies, or if any do? Or if next year's models will? I hope to stick with Costco and hope the extended treatment range of the KS9 and 10 wasn't a one-off situation for Costco.

    • @HearingClub
      @HearingClub  9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      that dosn't sound right at all. The ks9 and ks10's offer the same range of hearing loss that the current costco Philips, Rexton and Jabra offer. Each hearing aid has multiple receivers with different power levels that will accommodate hearing loss from mild to profound. Just ask your costco hearing aid practitioner and they will explain everything. Good luck!

    Is this hearing aid the same as the Jabra Encance Select 300? Sound is the most important thing for me since I listen to my fine stereo 8-10 hours a day. The Widex Moment is the one said to be used most by musicians. Because of its timing technology, they claim music sounds the most realistic and 3-dimensional. I trialed them and loved them but I am not going to spend $4000 more. Thus, I am hoping the Select 300 approaches what the Moment can do. So,
    Is the Select 300 the same as the Pro 20?
    Is the Select 300 better sounding than the 200?

However if I want to use the Jabar app on my iPhone the Bluetooth has to be turned off on the iPhone. It sounds a little complicated but it’s really quite simple once I got it figured out. It like there is only one one HA channel like in the early days of Bluetooth where your Bluetooth devices could only be paired to one source.
      Keep up the great videos you have really helped me a lot

      @@ppace52470 reply. Hi Patricia, as I’m aware 2022 ReSound Omnia 9 premium technology level has Bluetooth LE capability using the updated ReSound app. So, I wonder whether it’ll be easy for ReSound just to add software capability for Omnia 9 to use Auracast which for now is advertised with the brand newest 2023 Nexia hearing ads only, using this Smart 3D app upgrade?! However, if Auracast is a rather a hardware update for Nexia model (not only software broadcasting feature) then only latest ReSound HA for 2023 will have it? BTW the latest Costco ReSound sister brand Jabra Pro 20 hearing aids offer Auracast feature and should be logistically also Omnia 9. Omnia 9 has tinnitus protection while Jabra Pro 20 does not, later is equivalent to Omnia 7 HA.

    😅Do you have a timeline of a complete review of the Jabra Enhanced Pro 20? I have the Phillips and am thinking of switching to the Jabra but now that I have read some reviews on functionality of the Jabra, I might not. I see issues switching BT from iphone to iPad with the Jabra. On the Phillips I just use the Handoff setting to be able to switch so it’s automatic. An example is, if I pick up my iPad and go to TH-cam it will auto handoff so that it will play through my Phillips hearing aids. Will that not work with the Jabra? One of the commenters mentioned that they had to change settings each time. I have an appointment on Jan 4 th so I guess I better figure this out.

      Where do you activate this "hand off" feature? I've never heard of this. Is it an iPhone setting? I just checked the hand off document and that's something completely different. Hand off allows you to start a task on one device and then finish it on the other device. Idk, maybe that does work somehow but I'm not aware of it and have not heard of "hand off". And as far as the review, it's not going to be anytime soon. I have a bunch of videos to finish up. The enhance pro 10 and 20 are basically the same aids. The 20's have a couple of additional features I've talked about in the other enhance pro 20 videos. I will definitely make a full review video but it's gonna be a minute.

    I just got the jabra gn. The app worked fine at first but now there are only two selections on the home button. The 2 “all-around” and “hear in noise”. All the other sliding options have disappeared. I’ve unpaired and reinstalled the app twice. Still only the same 2 basic controls are showing . I’m so confused 😐. Any idea where all the other sliding options disappeared to?

    • @HearingClub

      Those other options are called “programs”. They can be added or removed by your hearing aid fitter. Somehow and for whatever reason, the hearing fitter must have removed them or reprogrammed the HAs and never added them back

    When using Auracast, is the ambient sounds still amplified normally or do the microphones cut off during that time? Also, if the hearing aids have the Front Focus feature, why doesn’t the app support that?

    • @HearingClub

      I imagine the hearing aids would still amplify. They do still amplify while streaming and I imagine using auracast streaming would be no different but I haven't tried it yet. And why doesn't the app support front focus? I'm not sure what you mean there. My jabras have front focus and the app allows me to change programs to the front focus program. Again, not sure what you mean. They did change the name of "front focus" to "hear in noise" is that what you mean? It's also been called "ultra focus" and "ultra focus 2" in the beltones. They use different names for the same programs depending on which brand you have.

Yes it’s a bit of lower price than comparable technologically with GN Jabra’s paren company Resound Omnia 7, of course. To be fair, I was told before I bought them by the Costco rep that they wouldn't pair to a PC but I figured if anybody could do it you'd be able to figure it out. Have the 20s, pretty satisfied with them, but the nagging question on the back of my mind is "can I do better?" the jabra is missing ai processing so I still wonder whether the philips 9040 would be better with speech recognition in noisy environments. However what swayed me towards the jabra is the more "futureproof" bluetooth feature with LE and auracast which the 9040 lacks. However, there are rumors oticon will be putting out something new next month so if philips gets a 9050 model with slightly tweaked or upgraded performance along with auracast and bluetooth LE i may end up buying a pair to compare then keeping the better of the 2.
