- What types of dogs are good for families with kids? Some of the dogs you see in movies or on the street seem to be cuteness itself. But after the first excitement of getting a dog abates, you may notice that your kid isn’t able to walk the dog on their own. Here are 10 dog breeds that aren't too kid-friendly.

SUMMARY:
- Adult Akita Inu dogs can be aggressive toward other animals, especially representatives of their own breed. As a result, they can suddenly attack other dogs, ignoring any size difference.
- Dalmatians are big, extremely strong, and overactive. Even if your dog is socialized and used to children's attention, you should closely watch its interactions with kids. Don't leave them alone even for a minute.
- The Russian Toy is a gentle and very loyal dog. But you should remember that it has a truly sensitive nature. If there are active kids in your family, this dog will be constantly stressed.
- Dobermans are exceptionally good hunters with perfect obedience skills. But it’ll take a lot of training to make the dog remember that your kids are masters just as you are and that they need not only protection but also respect.
- A Husky is a strong, big, playful dog and can express its emotions by jumping at a kid. This may hurt or scare a young child, so you’ll need to teach the dog to show its feelings in the proper way.
- Basenjis are unstoppably curious and highly intelligent. As a result, they are prone to disobedience.
- The Alabai looks like a fluffy white bear. This is an exceptionally strong and big dog. The dogs of this breed make perfect protectors, but, at the same time, they tend to dominate.
- The Chihuahua is considered to be the smallest breed. These dogs are usually aware of their fragility, and that’s why they don't particularly trust children. A small kid can perceive this dog more like a toy than a living being.
- The most prominent feature of any Pekingese is its self-centeredness. Most Pekingeses dislike children who make too much noise and try to touch or cuddle them.
- Young Corgis can easily become aggressive after they have tested their boundaries and realized that they can get away with a lot. This is especially true for male dogs.

Well in my opinion, I believe that if you have a positive attitude around your dog and you treat it well, it is likely to become a good dog. Though that is not always the outcome, it is most likely that this will happen.

If you’re planning on getting a dog, I recommend going with them when it’s time to let them go. A lot of people just drop them off and leave. 😔
No matter how sad you are, it’s always the leading up to the goodbye that’s hard. You end up recovering quickly after. Of course, you’ll always miss them, but it’s nice knowing that you gave them the best life possible.
Ur not the only one. My old dog bolt died from old age. She was 14 and was very protective and cute because she was a Texas heeler.

(I was on the receiving end of the barking, but that works too.) Letting fluffy friends go is one of the hardest things to deal with. Even when you feel better, there will always be that unfilled piece of your heart. Even if they hated your guts most of the time. 💔
I was attacked by a Chihuahua when I was 3. I still have my scars on my hands and a deep fear of this particular breed, but my neighbor's Chihuahua is very nice due to having an owner with excellent training experience. So my fear is fading, just like my scars.

He it is the owner but there are dog breeds who simply should NOT be around kids, not because they are aggressive, because maybe that breed is more nervous than another, a nervous dog is more likely to bite someone than a dog know to be aggressive, not because it's aggressive because it's scared and doesn't like kids jumping around it. And yes people do make dogs aggressive BUT some dogs are born like that and simply just don't like certain things and that's ok! There are some dog breeds that are like this not because someone made them mean, they just don't like kids or loud noises
No, some dogs are better having only one owner. My dad was a hunter and we got an Akita dog. One day it attacked me.Akitas aren’t supposed to be in a family.They see they’re owner as 1. and it sees himself as 2. and if you even hug the owner of the dog it will most likely attack you becouse they see you as competiton.When we got the dog we didn’t know what so yeah. DONT GET AN AKITA DOG IF YOU HAVE A FAMILY.

i have a corgi named milo and he bites and growls at new people when they come in our house, he is a great guard dog but loves to spend time with our family and loves walks. he is a great family pet but very territorial about his food and the people he loves

We have a Chihuahua in our family. My sister is 4. We’ve never had problems. Our chihuahua (Nina) was very energetic and hardly ever barked. Now, we have my sis and she barks at every person. No matter how many times my sis pulls her legs Nina will protect her with her life. ❤
anyone else notice that they used the incorrect images for several of the dog breeds? The Akita Inu and the Shiba Inu are totally different but they used images of shibas to display Akitas. Same with the dalmatian, they showed a spotted great dane as an example of a dalmatian

I grew up with Huskies. They were the sweetest, most patient dogs & very protective of us. When I was little, like 4-5 years old, I would put pillows on the floor for my dog Sebastian to lie down on so I could brush him. That dog let me brush him, play dress up on him & let me lay all over him. He never once growled or bit me. I was always loving on him , I’m sure it had to have annoyed him but he would just lay there & be very patient. I knew not to jump, tug, pull on tail, ears, like little kids do, my dad was always watching to make sure my brothers and I didn’t play harshly with any dogs we had. Sebastian was a saint, he was my bff when I was little.
we have a dalmatian-cross-staffy, and hes always happy to meet new people, and is just really nice and caring 😀

I agree with the husky thing my family has owned a few huskies and they are very loyal I mean once a Pittbull escaped from a yard and my dad was walking our husky and he protected my dad when the pittbull charged at my dad. He also was a great guard dog to.

I use to work at a groomers. We had a regular pekingnese come in all the time. His bark sounded like a duck. It was the funniest thing.

Look, I am a Dog expert, and I have a Husky and a Corgi, they never get aggressive around babies toddlers or older kids
Kawaii Slime 'n' Schleich I have grown up with all types of dogs , mutts, pugs, husky's, pitbull's and more, dogs like husky's aren't aggressive I used to have a 2 year old brother that was always with my grandpa, big husky but he is so sweet and gentle! He was playing one time and I laid down, he was very careful not to bump into anyone. No training what so ever, dogs aren't born aggressive, it's how they grow up, or what they are taught to do

I agree, I remember on PetRescue, we were searching for a dog to adopt. One of the chihuahuas were perfect and we agreed that we were gonna adopt him.
The next day, we got a message that the dog was scared of fast movements and can't get near kids. In it's profile, it said that it was abandoned in a very dangerous nature.
My dog named Reef (BTW His original name was also Reef) is a gentle dog, because his foster carer raised him in a good environment, and because of that he has a great nature. He even loves strangers! But he jumps at dogs! 😅

Of course. I love that the video brings that up a bunch- that training matters. Some breeds are more temperamental and require more training. It's healthy for any dog and the owners, that the dog is properly trained. Too many ignorant people out there are dog owners and bring misery to themselves, their dogs, and maybe even other people.

Corgi are on the list because it is low for you to get a dog the you don't have to do social training with them when you see them on videos they look all sweet and loving but you don't know if they are getting social training behind the scene and that goes for every other dogs not only on this list but genally. When I was younger I had a small chihuahua and I guess...i just got used to her biting as it never hurt. as of now I own a chihuahua and pug cross breed called a 'chug' and her name is Kira! she is smart and.. quite strong for such a tiny tiny dog.

I am 14 and have a Chihuahua and he is the sweetest most loving dog. He gets along well with my pug and other kids. Very protective of me and my mom. It all depends on how you treat them. If you love them and raise them right you won't be disappointed they are really sweet dogs.

My grandma has a corgi mix and she’s almost fifteen in human years .She does like to heard and snap at smaller children and what surprises me most is she KNOWS it’s not ok. She’s deaf and going blind so she gets surprised easily and almost bit the kid I baby sit 😅not that she had any teeth to bite him with. Another thing on why I think she nipped at and herds smaller kids is she was abused as a puppy by smaller kids and their parents 😩.

I have a dog mixed with a Chihuahua, she bit my sibling many times, but because she was scared, and everyone knew how she acts. She's so peaceful and likes attention.

depends how you raise them , dogs will be dogs and if a kid pulls their ear or tail the dog will bite them. a lot of people put their kids with big dogs thinking it’s ok. but it’s not, kids are annoying and don’t care , they will mess with a dog and get bitten but that’s all the parents faults for leaving them unnatended

When it said that corgis are not for families with kids, I was so confused because my corgi never attacked me, in fact my corgi got along with me and would come running towards me when I came downstairs, and would also lick my hand, then I realised that my corgi was a corgi retriever mixed breed
My aunt has a chihuahua and she has two young kids (and a toddler). The chihuahua growls a lot but it is really friendly to my cousin. Luckily, it can’t bite because it doesn’t have teeth😂 It does try to though. Sometimes it is friendly, other times not so much. And I have a very amazing basenji mix even though my little brother is 8 years old. I don’t think it counts though because he is a mix breed

When I was a toddler my parents had a Pekingese and he actually liked children, mostly me. He also was very protective over me and over his own bed. He wouldn't let anyone besides my mom or granny come towards me or he would only let my grandparents touch his bed, while my parents he would growl at.

beano boi my dog is a chihuahua mix, and he hasn’t learned anything when he was born so he doesn’t listen to our family a lot like if visitors come to our house and we say don’t bite, he tackles them anyway

We have a chihuahua and I have a seven year old brother and she is so sweet she growls when she is playing and if she sees someone she don’t know she will bark. But she won’t hurt them. She looks like she is mixed with a schipperke though.
