- Breeds that prefer a colder climate normally have a thick double coat and more body fat. So, as you can probably guess, a good choice is a St. Bernard, Malamute, Husky, or Samoyed.
- German Shepherds aren't a good breed for you due to their dry skin, which results in a lot of dander built-up. The same goes for long-haired breeds as well.
- Getting a dog for the first time ever is both exciting and nerve-racking. There are so many breeds to choose from, and they’re all so cute and adorable! If you’re new to the dog-owning world, then a Labrador, Border Collie, or Poodle will be perfect for you.

I currently have an elderly cavachon. Sometimes i forget how old she is because her size, demeanor, and overall look, makes her seem like a puppy. She’s pretty adaptable and is fine with whatever. She currently has some health issues (heart murmur and fluid around the lungs), but is a wonderful, playful, and energetic doggo. She loves to chill as well and i find myself just checking on her when she’s asleep because she’s so cute!!

100%. I've owned Dobes all my life and (along with labs, and small dogs) and the dobe is just as much a family dog as the labs were. Depends how they're raised. My female dobe was a big chicken, acted mean and tough but wouldn't hurt a fly, but was loyal and noble as they come and loved children. Intelligence reminded me of the lab though.

We have a king German and, it is so sweet, kind and, loves almost anyone, he has separation anxiety but he is still so sweet.
I grew up with boxers. They do FANTASTIC with kids. Their tendency to get excited makes them a bad fit for toddlers, who they might bowl over, but any kid older than that has the best playmate possible.
I had my pug Motley for about 13 years. He would always go running with me every morning and evening. They could be active if you're active, and they are just a content being alone in a house. I work with a fire department and my rotation is usually 12-24 hour shifts. He would be just content with being home by himself or going out running with me every evening. I miss my boy very much :(
With being quarantined, I walk daily and my sibling's chihuahua pug enjoys the walks at a nice, steady pace. He also will afterwards collapse and act like he hasn't had any rest in days even though he sleeps and lounges around a ton.

My old coworker had part custody of his pug. He’d bring the dog to work sometime and after our "office walk" that poor thing sounded like it was dying. The tongue was too big for it’s recessive snout. I felt so bad for it. I just wanted to hook it up to an oxygen tank. It must have not been a very active dog.

4:11 My great grandma got a perfect dog because I remember after she passed away, they where picking a new owner for her dog and this was the breed I saw.
When I got my pup I got a husky and she’s really a mix of both she can bark deeply but she also loves snuggle and just playing but she is very taratorial she will bark loudly if somebody even family that just doesn’t live in the house still she flips out.

A lot of guard dogs are family friendly dogs. Rottweilers are amazing with kids. Now sometimes they don’t know their own strength and they may accidentally knock one over, but if you train them right they’d never hurt one in a million years.
Mu cousins have Rottweiler puppies and he still knocked me over but he so cute

I'm 1st time pet owner ( having a dog while growing up doesn't count ) and my pick was an American Pitbull Terrier ( he picked me actually). He is the sweetest dog I could ever hope of having and is the complete opposite of his sis that got adopted by my neighbor and is destroying the house lol

I have a neighbor who have a 6-8 week old pitt he was very fearful of me loved my cousin.Whoever had him must have abused him it and it took him 6 weeks to warm up to me.His was a big sweetheart.I been around many of them everyone am out and about.There are well trained.
I remember asking my dad for a dog every day since I was 4 years old. I loved dogs when I was younger. It wasn’t till I was in my 20’s, when I first bought my Shih tzu mix. She’s the best little girl and always making me smile with her beautiful face. I was disappointed when the video didn’t mentioned about shih tzus and how they will live with you almost anywhere and sweet and gentle their temperament is.

I don’t look for a particular breed or characteristic in a dog. I think some of the very best dogs are mutts with no lineage and found at your local humane shelter. They truly are. They will never forget your kindness to choose them and give them a loving home.
We have 4 dogs. 2 in Romania and 2 in the UK ( here ). Hedwig and Spotty in Romania Loki and Ben here. Loki 7-months Ben 6-years Spotty 2-3 years and Hedwig 9-10 years.
Hedwig is the ONLY girl dog in the family.
I've always wanted a dog since I was very little but my parents (even though they adore dogs) have been against the idea due to the commitment it takes. Now that I am older and have earnt myself some money I am now looking to buy a dog and have convinced my parents on the idea and we are now on the long search for a furry friend :)

Rottweilers aren’t just guardians. They’re loyal and love children, they can be used as nannies❤️ the only sad thing about them is that their average life expectancy is around 10 years :(

The best family friendly, athletic and lap dogs are boxers, they are very goofy, patient and cute, they also like children, and they only bark when needed, our boxer howls everytime when he hears a car, so I think they are nice guard dogs, and their bite force is 250 psi and they are the ultimate dog package, again, as bright side said, they don't do well in hot weather.

We had a golden retriever X Labrador when my sister was 7 months old and they grew up together. Crawling around on the floor together. We still have her and also recently got a Labrador puppy.
