it is really great that you made a video about this. Mistakes and bad things happen. But you don't hide it and try to help others. This is one more prove of your great work here.
@@fr0zn303 its bit different for each windows but its in "view" option , which you can find in my computer. Maybe even searching "file name extention " in windows search box could lead you there. Windows is also meant to show a warning if you try and run a program that windows doesn’t recognize but that seems to have not happened for some reason
Same here. THe hacker kept posting many. I kept reporting and they kept getting taken down and then new ones kept popping up. That hacker was persistent. He then began deleting BSport's videos.
The most surprising is that Google ALLOWED an ".exe" file for you to receive. At least in my country it blocks executable files being received and being sent. Only way around it is to rename the exe to a non-exe and zip the file up with a password. Google, in my country, ain't playing around with executable files. Has been annoying but totally understandable.
You can disguise exe files as different files, or you can use other file types to execute macros that might then run an exe, or any number of other methods.
I would recommend using a yubico key or the google version as an added layer of protection. Without the physical key no one can change settings. Love your content and a massive VW fan 😅. If you have time should cover the Bathurst 6hr production car race. Held in Australia over the Easter break. Awesome racing.
Great to see your channel restored and nice of you to create such a video, I hope many people see it and be more carful, I am also getting a lot of 'partership' emails like that for another channel that I have, they are quite flatering and one should be very careful with them. One very easy way to weed out most of them is the complete lack of reference to the content of your channel, if someone offers you a partership and appears to have no idea what your channel is about, that should be an instant red flag. I'm glad about your outcome, can't wait for your next videos!
So glad you have got your channel back. But I'm baffled as to what harmful content you could have put up. It's a channel about motorsports and engineering, and it's all your own work, which you have worked very hard to create. Not my area of expertise but I repeat I'm very happy to have you back.
Great to share all this info. Q: was the pc left turned on, in sleep, or shutdown when shopping? Next time if your spidey sense twingles, air gap your tech.
You still need to install a good AV! May be even a couple of them and scan your archive files. Bots will make sure to have copies in many different ways.
I wonder if you had passwords saved in your browser without a master password? If so, that’s a big mistake because they can be easily stolen, as they are often stored in a plain text file. Anyways, great that you got it back!
Glad you got it back - I was one who WhatsApp'd - just knowing time was critical to stop as much damage. But understand how you don't know who to trust - not that I was offering anything other than a heads-up not help.
every now and then I'll see some channel I've subscribed to is now some random name with ai scam, i just report it as theyve been hacked or something similar

Thank you so much!
This is why in windows you should always enable file name extention. This should be ON by default but windows being run by idiots .....
How can you enable it?
PRECISELY!!! Always baffled me why Microsoft has always had this off by default. Most users never bother to enable showing the file extensions.

I'm so glad you are back, from next time please have a very complex password and protection to your email.
Thanks, I did, but that would not have helped if someone is already in your account and changes everything…

I was shocked with the crypto video like Wtf...and was thinking ok maybe you started advertising the coins 😂
And just in time for the F1 tests. Was concerned we lost the last of the F1 tech titans (Chainbear was also one of my favs until he MIA'ed forever).
