    I'm not sure how your channel appeared in my recommended feed but I'm so thrilled to have discovered you and your beautiful growing family ❤️ I'm currently recovering from surgery and although we have different medical issues I can relate to the emotional rollercoaster pregnancy. My little one is going to be 3 years old in a few months, our miracle ❤. I wish you all the love and positivity in the world

    As far as the water intake goes, it's important to remember that a vast majority of the population is chronically dehydrated and thus their bodies absorb the water before it can work it's way down the bladder. If you are very hydrated in general, it's safe to say you can drink less.
    A full bladder is most important to assess cervix; after the first few minutes if you're very uncomfortable let the tech know and they can let you partially, or fully empty.

    • @LetsTalkIBD
      @LetsTalkIBD  3 วันที่ผ่านมา +8

      Thank you for sharing this! This is exactly what Zak told me - he said you purposefully keep yourself hydrated whereas most don't pay attention, so you might be ok!
      Thankfully 2 mins in she let me use the restroom!

    Ok so I have to point something out! I. Your thumbnail, in your little ones ultrasound, if you look at her head I can see your face! I was like woah, what?! That's Maggie's face! Has anyone else noticed it? Anyway Maggie, I am so happy for you! As someone that also has Crohn's (I also have lupus and up until last September had been fighting thyroid cancer for 10 years) I struggled with fertility issues and I had losses like you did as well, and fertility struggles are so tough, so I know hard it is having Crohn's and trying to conceive and how rough it is on you mentally and physically, but look at you now! You are expecting a healthy, precious baby girl! I have 2 beautiful daughters, after being told I would never have kids, and I am so blessed! You are such an amazing person Maggie and you deserve the best in this life! You are going to be an amazing Mother❤

    I am also a ex nurse who is now a patient and since appointments have become much more either virtual or just being told at one appointment when nxt one is only to be told at arrival at nxt appointment was wrong time I got fed up.
    I now request they send me a letter stating g appointment day /time or if it is a appointment I am making in person in clinic I get person making appointment write it down and intial or sign so when I rock up nxt and am told "you should have been here 20 mins ago " I pull out my letter or card and go well speak to this person they arranged.
    I use to feel bad doing it but got so fed up of being made to feel it was my fault.

    Personally if I were having difficulty with scheduling systems at a healthcare provider office and they were not the best at taking accountability I would definitely be asking for an appointment card for one you’ll have something to reference and two they can’t blame you for any scheduling errors.

    I had four babies (now 82) and used “Mother’s Friend.” No stretch marks. Your body is really going to change, so enjoy it all! My C-section scar & area around took years to get all sensation back.

    Usually, stretch marks start out red and fade to silvery (and even disappear) over the years. Seems like your pregnancy is going fast. At Christmas, you'll be halfway!

      Maybe I am seeing some peeling skin then around my scar! It seems the stretching areas are peeling first so I'm trying to keep everything hydrated!

    Totally worth it to buy Maternity bras, IMHO. As your abdomen grows, in later months pregnancy hormones allow connective tissue (ligaments) to stretch (so rib cage stretches). I found that the triangle in between ribs got very uncomfortable, especially in a regular bra that has elastic across that bit. Maternity bras have (or had 41 years ago when I bought mine) an upside-down U shape in the middle between the cups, so there's no pressure on the bit of skin between the ribs

    • @wakandaforever4291
      @wakandaforever4291 3 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      And maternity tank tops with breast feeding flaps, if you do that. Best Thing I ever bought during my pregnancy.

    Hi Maggie. You look absolutely adorable. I love the Comfelie bras.
    So glad that the anatomy scan went well. Holding 32oz of water is the worst. I had to do it monthly during both of my pregnancies. Even prior to birth, just to make sure that my placenta had moved up.
    I wish you all the best!❤❤

    One of the ladies in my Lamaze class had around 3 ultrasounds (she worked at the hospital and the techs did them for free). She was told she was having a girl. They added a room on to their house, painted the room pink with flop eared rabbits and had a closet full of baby girl clothes. Imagine her surprise when they told her it was a boy. LOL. Her mom had to go return some clothes so they would have something to bring him home in. But that was 30 yrs ago and ultra sounds have vastly improved. I can't wait to see your baby girl.

    Since your midline surgery is more than 2 years old the ability to feel it is long gone. I was 12 with my first abdominal surgery. I have two kids and have had 10 abdominal surgeries. So, my midline has changed a few times but the feeling never came back.

  • @lynetteveches4745

    I use Vaseline on my stomach when I was pregnant with all of my kids and I barely got any stretch marks at all a little bit on my hips and a little bit on my chest but other than that nothing near what it was before but I’m not sure how it is with the previous surgery scar but you could try the Vaseline And see if it helps on any to keep the areas moist so it’s able to stretch. You don’t want it to dry out because that’s where stretch marks come from.

    The full bladder during pregnancy ultrasounds can be so rough. I've come scary close to wetting the ultrasound table lol. Once with my first baby when they finally let me up to pee, I couldn't move having to go so bad. It hurt & I held with all I had, walking with my legs crossed, almost in tears. Some women must lose control of their bladders in there. I started bringing bags with extra pants just in case.

    Back in the old days we were told to rub cocoa butter on our bellies to prevent stretch marks. I did it religiously and had I given birth a few weeks early, I wouldn't have had stretch marks on my belly. They weren't huge, but there are 5 that kind of spread out like a starburst from my giant pregnant belly button. Then you breastfeed and get stretch marks on your giant lady milk jugs, lol! 😂. Stretch marks are a woman's badge of honor gained from growing humans.

    Congratulations, its amazing and wonderful! I had to have allot of ultrasounds, I was high risk, having had 3 losses, I only had one ovary, due to tumours at just 12. So I had allot of scar tissue. You know, I never thought that I would get much bigger, but once the milk came in, I had my ex go and buy me a 34 C, and I thought no way its too big, but he had to take it back! I had to go to go up to a D cup..if you are going to be nursing, prepare your breasts! Because when your baby latches on, it can hurt if you have not prepared. I have to say that I have inflammatory bowel disease, in remission now. But I had to have surgery to repair the damage it did. I have additional problems again, caused further damage, as when I was growing I would get severe pain, and I had her 6 weeks early. Later on my little ovary was dying, and at 26 they removed my cervix and womb, but first they had to remove my bowels as they were stuck on the womb as was my bladder, and lots of adhesions. They had done tests by putting a camera inside and they could not find my womb, so they

    Why could you not pee before? I got several ultrasounds when pregnant and I was never asked to come with full bladder. Just wondering. 😊

      For mine the 12 week I have to drink 32once and hour before and hold it. For my week I had to just not have an empty blatter. I think it varies but place but is a common request till later in pregnancy

      I was specifically told to have a full bladder and drink 30 oz prior to coming.

      It helps lift the uterus up and out of the pelvis a bit more. Its easier to see baby

      A full bladder is the only way to see cervix, other than doing a transvaginal.

      Thank you everybody! I guess I only had trans-vaginal ones first and then I was really big quite early - I had twins :) I'm from Finland, so it might be different here also...

    Omg on and on about spelling crohns. Lighten up. Have you never made a mistake? You two are getting a little sassy lately.

      I am sassy haha! And yes, it IS important to spell disease names right. Patients who go home to look up their own diagnoses and don't have the proper spelling may not be able to find what they are searching for.

    I can’t remember how I initially came across your channel (I feel like YT suggested one of your videos).
    Nonetheless, I am thrilled that I found you and Zach!! Seriously so excited over your beautiful baby girl. 💗💗💗 Cannot wait to see you bask in motherhood!! 🥹
