I liked TTD -Good survivability -Good armor -DM63 -Speed Cons : no machine guns and 7.1s reloading for 105 mm (It would be possible to do 5 or 6 seconds)
Maybe the optics which are a notable downgrade from the Olifant Mk.2 At least for the Thermals. The Olifant has 2nd gen for the commander and gunner whereas the TTD only have 1st gen for the gunner. Also one thing that could be considered a good point about this tank is the fact that it is pretty rare on the battlefield. I might have played hundreds of games with my TTD and I have only seen like 5 or 6 of them plus a couple of them in custom battles. And since it is a rare tank on the battlefield most people don't know how to fight it
You can add to cons 20mm of armor on the roof. In my first game in this thing I was overpresured by BMD4. Generaly it's rare but some ppl know about this and load HE shells
I wish they added other variants of the TTD at least as event vehicles. TBH, I just want to see more South African Vehicles in the game especially some south african jets.
They only made 1, they could add a TTD with a 120 mm gun but it wouldn't be historically accurate. The 105 mm gun was mounted for testing and they built 3, 120 mm smoothbore guns and even a 140 mm gun was proposed but neither were actually used due to the program being shut down.
@@blank3041 I do too but unfortunately the south African government today is not equipped to start making new vehicles and everything from the old government (all the good stuff) is already in the game
@@blank3041 I definitely think the SA aircraft sub tree will be added, just later on because lots of our stuff is quite advanced for the game in it's current state either that or they'll add it in the near future and slowly add more modern stuff

As a soviet driver it very much irritates me that my diesel has been in fact swapped for liquid blasting gel. Lots of tanks in fact use armored fuel cells as part of their protection!
I play the marder as a sniper tank it has decent mobility and you can use the atgm over hills where the enemy can’t shoot you also you got a gun good for destroying helis and using it to disable enemies also helps but keep in mind you light armor
It's in the name. It was essentially a demonstraitor for a replacement of the Olifant. but it never took off. i think due to the south african goverments changing and thus allowing for certain imports to become a thing and it meant the olifant mk2 was the cheaper alternative.
@@lonereaper4287 South African government changed and they didn't want to spend any money to upgrade our existing tanks/replace the old ones. They sent to storage around 70% of our Rooikat fleet, only managed to complete the orders of 24 Rooivalk Helicopters, keep around 12 Olifants in active duty and also only completed 12 orders for Grippens. The TTD wasn't cancelled because of imports (all of which are more expensive and require Denel's workshops to retool for them) and the Olifant Mk.2(now outdated) were cheaper alternatives, but simply because they didn't want to spend the money to upgrade/replace them.

DM63 makes this thing a menace and a very nice backup tank for a 10.0 lineup for the UK
Yeah, even Leo doesn't have that thing. DM63 is DU shell that can destroy even T-80 BVM with one shot in any place... At least in real life.

I honestly cannot remember the last time I saw someone actually use the TTD. It always gets overshadowed by the challenger line.
