Another great review and it swayed me to buy one, bought it 2nd hand but was in good condition but as you pointed out I experienced it jamming. Long story short I decided to strip it down and found an O ring being used as a spacer under the side cover where the flat head screw is (next to ring). I removed this and the mechanism then bound up the pin was catching in the side groove when operated, ground a bit off the pin and hey presto lovely smooth and less wobbly action and no more jamming so can only assume this was a quick fix in the factory (unless this is a standard fitment) as it didn't look like it had been apart before..... just a heads up
Was at Gander Outdoors yesterday looking at that riffle, and I have to say that after watching this I'm heading back tomorrow to pick it up. Beautifully made and the lever action is awesome. Thanks for the video.
Gently lubricating the outside of the shells seems to considerably improve the loading and ejecting. As with any gun oiling the mechanism helps too. The Umarex is a replica of the 1894 Winchester. I have a modern Japanese made 1892 Winchester in .357/38 Special which is close enough to say with some authority that the Umarex is a stunning replica. The modern version also has a safety like the Umarex which was missing from older versions. The sights are identical. My real Winchester and the BB version both function best with energetic and positive use of the lever action. Gentle or incomplete lever action can result in a jam. If you want smooth and easy you have to get a Henry. I have one in .22 and the action is like silk. Considering that I paid almost five times as much for the real one and the action, fit and finish are near comparable, and in addition the firing mechanism of the Umarex is a complicated CO2 system as opposed to a mere firing pin I think the Umarex would be a bargain at twice the price. Great review incidentally and very enjoyable.
Just got mine yesterday and can't stop smiling, fantastic piece of kit and ultimate plincking gun. As Andy says you WILL need more cartridges and fires pellets no problem.
They so NEED to make a full power PCP version of this gun. It would be fantastic, even if it just kept the original 8 wheel magazine design. (Though the shells would be nice too)
One of these at 12 ft/lbs keeping the shells and quality build would be probably my favorite air rifle. I'd happily pay £4-500 for one if it had the above. Enough kick to do some pest control, plinking and with the realism for "cool factor".
@@dodo19923 With the combined length of the two co2 canisters and that bizarrely long threaded component used to push them in, which looks itself to be approximately the length of two canisters, (I'm only guessing as I don't own one myself to measure but) I'd estimate that combined takes up approximately 12.5" / 32ish cm, that along with the rest of the space in the "Wooden" stock I suspect they could replace that space with a singular cylindrical PCP tank and firing system. This way it wouldn't get in the way of the Carriage loading and cycling mechanism. Would it be enough for pest control? Love the gun Andy. When I first heard about these my concern is that I mostly shoot outdoors. I've seen me look for 20 minutes for a dropped shell to my Nagant before. The other issue is, here in Canada, with that FPS it would require a regular gun license. But it sure would be fun to try one out somewhere.
Yes, I'm in Canada as well, this would be a nice addition to my collection along side my Peacemakers. Sad that our gun laws are more restrictive than Britain's.
@@bogrot69 But our airsoft replicas don't have the blues & yellows or reds like they do plus we are allowed to have full auto airguns like the Umarex Legends MP40 or the replica Mauser Broom Handle just to name a couple. So I find replica collecting to be a wee bit more fulfilling because of that.
Sorry about your gun laws guys but you didnt kick the Brits out like we did. I got a Daisy Red Ryder bb gun for my friends little boy on his 5th birthday and subsequently 2 of his younger brothers when they turned 5. The oldest boy is 9 now. Maybe this will be his new gun. Obviously his mom is in charge of the guns and they are only taken out when they will be supervised. He does just fine though with a 22lr Savage MkII BOLT action a .40SW carbine and even a 12 gauge shotgun with birdshot and a .22lr SAA revomver
Actually, I don't mind the Brits one iota. And like you, many of our youth have airguns, and the farm boys are usually shooting 22s at a young age. And there is one American law relating to airguns which I find strange & that is that all airsoft guns require an orange tip. Yet you can get an identically looking airgun/BB/pellet and it doesn't require one. So, like us, our American cousins have some strange airgun laws too.

Just ordered this for some little longer range target shooting as well as the MP5 for some back garden fun or timed target shooting and I just know from this video its going to be fun just using the lever action
Based on the model 94 WInchester.....looks like fun.... All lever action rifles need to be cycled in what the military calls "A soldierly fashion"..... that is vigorously. All lever rifles are susceptible to malfunctions if "short stroked", and it doesn't matter if its an air replica like yours or my own powder weapons in 44 Magnum, which are replicas of the 1892 model designed for pistol rounds. It's inherent in the design.....they are not rifles to be "babied". The 1894 on which this Umarex is modelled has the crosswise locking bar rather than he '92's twin bars at the sides. This was done on the 1894 to make room on the cartridge lifter for the longer (and more powerful) 30/30 WCF round without making the outside dimensions of the action longer. Quite a clever solution so that the rifle was still a short, handy carbine for carriage in a saddle scabbard on a horse, but with the more powerful and flatter shooting 30/30 for use on medium to large game like deer.
I just got mine, I'm very excited , i haven't used yet, the rifle still on the box, on the box reads that it will give me up to 600 fps, but on TH-cam videos i haven't see any rifle of this kind, giving more than 400 fps

@@prik9802 In the garden?!! Yee Haa! Actually, I dare say one has to be outside city limits and at least 200 yards from any structure. Y'alls been watchin' too many westerns : ]
I'm looking up videos on this rifle right now, because I just got mine in the mail. Been thinking about one for a while, and finally ordered one. It's a pretty good replica of a Winchester model 1892, very similar to The Reaper (My personal 1892 replica). I'm getting some air gun replicas for practice for cowboy action shooting... so I already have the cowboy outfit.
"Flip them over and the main difference becomes apparent" * gold finish version blinds me * Well there is a difference, but I'm not sure if it's the one you are talking about
I have a marlin model 39A 22 LR and use powderles primer only rounds that shoots at 590 fps like shooting a pellet gun and if i need more power I just use regular 22 LR bullets
Very cool. Just like my Winchester 30-30 in the USA. I took a lot of deer with that. You think of it as a cowboy gun but honestly a lot of American deer hunters still use these. Now I am looking at airguns because I do more backyard plinking and the Constable won't be happy if I use a real 30-30. I still think I prefer the rotary pellet magazine over searching for shells in the grass.
My gun came this past Friday. I have almost 2000 rounds and working good. only problem is sometimes it doesn't pierce both co2s at once, and I'm only shooting indoors and getting 140 shots with 2 co2s. So at about 60 shots I loosen the piercing adjuster a little bit and then tighten it again to pierce the second co2 works good. Now I tried using one co2 and one used and getting 70 shots so about right. The full one goes in first.
Reality is this is for Nothing but Fun - Shells vs the Rotary. Rotary Wins due to the fact or Losing the shells while your Cocking. Plus you have to load Each & Every shell separately while the Rotary you would load one load two and only have to insert one insert two. Love the Looks I have the Real McCoy err Winchester 1894 30/30. Great Rifle has been since I was 12 yrs old.
I just got this gun in may I've used hundreds of co2s and thousands of rounds and still working good I leave the co2s in for days no problem i find it's better to use one co2 because with two co2s i get 140 shots with one co2 I get 90 shots of course the last ten shots are weak but I just keep shooting till the pellets just barely coming out I only shoot indoors at close range so no problem i save my co2s for this gun only now more shots and more fun to shoot
I have this gun, but I don't think I was tightening the co2 compartment cover enough because when i thought the co2 ran and and took the capsules, only one was pierced
It may not wreck the shells after it wears in. I’d be curious to know. Also, I had a real Winchester 1894 for a while in an obsolete western cartridge. Sourcing ammunition became an issue so I gave it up. I currently have a small Henry lever in .22 LR. They both required a certain action to cycle properly. I used an old military term when letting people try those real guns for the first time. “Cock the action smartly.” Or a navy term, “Roundly.” There is a similar issue but less so with my Winchester 88 in .308. It has a curved lever and different lever action but you shouldn’t cock it slowly. It seems that all lever actions have a sweet spot. I have BB replica pistols. This BB model 94 attracts me and after watching your video I think I’ll get one. Safe, much less expensive plinking, and able to use it more places.
Great job on showing the rifle.. I really like what Umarex has been doing. I may just have to get one of these just for the hell of it!! LOL Subscribed !!
Great Little Rifle and mine is really good with pellets, only fault was the loading gate opening had a sharp edge that caught my finger loading the shell fully in . A bit of dowel rod cured the problem. mine does not seem to scour the seals at all.
I got this and the single action army revolver. About to buy cowboy boots, a cowboy hat and a horse cause they are so fun to mess around with that i wanna go all in 🤣
Are the pellet and BB Shells the same? I have an Umarex SAA pellet model and spare shells for that. I am curious if I could run those shells through the rifle? I'm really not even sure what makes the pellet or BB Shells any different. In the pistol the only difference I can tell is that the BB is smooth bore and the pellet version has a rifled barrel.
I just ordered this gun from Replica Airguns in B.C. and the ad says 410 fps. You can can get the pal version but not without a license in Canada. Any idea what the actual fps on the neutered version is? Great show BTW.

I got this and haven't been able to put it down for a week.
Already have it. It's great fun.
Bought one earlier this year, brilliant.
bought 1 today and love it
Just ordered this for some little longer range target shooting as well as the MP5 for some back garden fun or timed target shooting and I just know from this video its going to be fun just using the lever action
I want one and I don't even want to shoot it, just put it up on the wall to gaze at lovingly.
I bought one two months ago! Love it .
Put a fork in me pilgrim! This is awesome!🙏🇺🇸👍
I have owned one of these for just over 2 years fired about 2000 shots with it. Aint let me down once. aw sum bit of kit.

Here in Arizona we get to keep real cowboy rifles in our homes. I have a marlin 336 30-30, it's a lot of fun.

You can in Britain too, but just not as easily and you can’t shoot in your garden
@@prik9802 In the garden?!! Yee Haa! Actually, I dare say one has to be outside city limits and at least 200 yards from any structure. Y'alls been watchin' too many westerns : ]
I know wot I'm getting for xmas now I know they will take a pellet.thanks andy
Have you tried to unscrew the rear sight and move it one direction or the other and tighten it again to adjust windage?
I'm looking up videos on this rifle right now, because I just got mine in the mail. Been thinking about one for a while, and finally ordered one. It's a pretty good replica of a Winchester model 1892, very similar to The Reaper (My personal 1892 replica). I'm getting some air gun replicas for practice for cowboy action shooting... so I already have the cowboy outfit.
"Flip them over and the main difference becomes apparent"
* gold finish version blinds me *
Well there is a difference, but I'm not sure if it's the one you are talking about
Wow looks great .fantastic review
I have a marlin model 39A 22 LR and use powderles primer only rounds that shoots at 590 fps like shooting a pellet gun and if i need more power I just use regular 22 LR bullets
you can use pellets in the model with ejecting shells. 👍✌
The full one goes in first.
hi thanks for all vids . mine has stared leaking air inside , so can you recomend any one to repair it . does vector air do repairs . thanks
Reality is this is for Nothing but Fun -
Shells vs the Rotary.
Great review, thanks.
Yeah ,you got me when you said: Start drinking beer for shooting the cans.....ROFL
Wonder if Umarex will be doing a 'Mare's Leg' version? That would be on my list.
WAYNE REYNOLDS
Yeah, but it would have less power since it could only hold 1co2
@@prik9802 True, but It'll still be a cool addition to the range. Plus you can channel your inner Steve McQueen.
Been trying to decide if I want to spend out on one of these or not as a pellet gun...now I need one lol
Bought one turned up today, love it!
Going up on my wall
Where can you buy the wooden kit for it?
It's a nice rifle to have, so I have one and I love it, I'm not using steel BB's but leadpellets, the shells take it with no problem
I just got this gun in may I've used hundreds of co2s and thousands of rounds and still working good I leave the co2s in for days no problem i find it's better to use one co2 because with two co2s i get 140 shots with one co2 I get 90 shots of course the last ten shots are weak but I just keep shooting till the pellets just barely coming out I only shoot indoors at close range so no problem i save my co2s for this gun only now more shots and more fun to shoot
thanks
Because of this review I have just put a deposit down on
One
I have this gun, but I don't think I was tightening the co2 compartment cover enough because when i thought the co2 ran and and took the capsules, only one was pierced
Can you measure the allen wrench in yours? Mine broke can't get the co2 cartridge out of the stock.
Near $250 on eBay, seems like a really good deal. I have a Henry Golden Boy that it would look very nice next to.
It works great and is easy to operate
It may not wreck the shells after it wears in. I’d be curious to know. Also, I had a real Winchester 1894 for a while in an obsolete western cartridge. Sourcing ammunition became an issue so I gave it up. I currently have a small Henry lever in .22 LR. They both required a certain action to cycle properly. I used an old military term when letting people try those real guns for the first time. “Cock the action smartly.” Or a navy term, “Roundly.”
There is a similar issue but less so with my Winchester 88 in .308.
LOL Subscribed !!
hello, if you had to choose one of the two, forgetting the price, which one would you buy? thank you
An "Evil Roy" would be sweet.
Nice review Andy !
For the first 5 minutes I thought it was Noel edmons doing the review
I quite like the Wells fargo one.
Great Little Rifle and mine is really good with pellets, only fault was the loading gate opening had a sharp edge that caught my finger loading the shell fully in . A bit of dowel rod cured the problem.
mine does not seem to scour the seals at all.
Nice guns but do u make em.no co2 but pellet justs asking I'm.not into.co2 but I.got the 1866 BB an pellet.1 Love it 1.77
Do you know what the shell casing size ? Compared to real ammo ?
I got this and the single action army revolver. About to buy cowboy boots, a cowboy hat and a horse cause they are so fun to mess around with that i wanna go all in 🤣
Nigga lmfao just buy a real one... Unless your in euro tRaSh LaNd, then I'm sorry
I have the single action western revolver, but I would kill to get my hands on this beast!
Got the last one in stock. But due to corona ive gotta wait ;( Honestly cant wait though!!!
Can one also use the crosman cowboy shells ?
i dont think so.
I got one the other day and pushed 10 shells into it, but only 4 comes out or even loads. Any tips?
Sounds like a good candidate for Gamo lead bbs, to cut down on ricochet
I just ordered this gun from Replica Airguns in B.C. and the ad says 410 fps. You can can get the pal version but not without a license in Canada. Any idea what the actual fps on the neutered version is? Great show BTW.
Nice...funny how Facebook interrupts the featured vids if you block their numerous Facebook ads especially if I'm in Facebook jail.
Love under lever cowboy guns.. American West!!!! Nothing like cowboys and cowboy guns. Epitome of America
