      @6mm plinker those are just piece of junk kid's toys made of plastic and they only fire softair bbs at low velocity for shooting at other people, not lead pellets at high speed for shredding tin cans, clay pigeons, or even pests like a proper air gun.

    The "under lever" reminds me more of a TV western starring Chuck Conners..."The Rifleman" He used a rifle fitted out with that same type lever instead of a "6 shooter." The opening sequence for the show saw him pumping out several shots in just a few seconds and then using the lever he'd turn the rifle in a circle under his arm and reload it. As for power though, my old Benjamin/Sheridan .20 cal pump gun would outclass this new one by a LOT! Can't beat the older rifles for sheer power, although these new ones do look pretty. From over 25 feet away, that old Benjamin would put a .20 cal pellet clear through both sides of those cans you were shooting at.

Theyve been my favorite rifles since i was a small child, and my beloved baby is still my lever action deer rifle that ive had since i was young, despite gaining several other kinds of rifle as i grew older. Seeing this makes me happy. It looks like a fun little paper puncher and squirrel spooker that would be fun to play with in the back yard.

And the shell ejecting obscured if fitting a standard scope which is a big downer for me. I have only a small back yard so open sights are a must for my target/ plinking fun !

    Hey thanks for the review, it's definitely a neat rifle. I wish Umarex would just stick a hpa tank in the rear stock so no fumbling with temp sensitive co2. Having a none temp sen gas would probably make the shots more consistent. You have to give Umarex credit for their innovation and I hope this rifle makes it to the states.

  • @rich7447
    @rich7447 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    The rail setup on the Renegade is similar to my Marlin 1895 (SBL). The 1895 is mainly kept for defense while travelling in our RV (large animals in Western US) so I don't mount a scope 95% of the time. The other 5% of the time I have a Luepold scout scope mounted with the low (QD) rings. It lines up well with the stock on the 1895 so would probably be a good choice for the Renegade.

  • @rich7447
    @rich7447 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Kind of a fun fact. Here in the US the original cap and ball revolver (and modern reproductions of) that you have an air gun replica of would not be considered to be a firearm in the eyes of the law. Black powder and percussion cap firearms have fewer restrictions here than the air gun replica would have in the UK.

    I was unsure about the looks of this one at first,... but then I recalled the series on 'Forgotten Weapons' about 'scout rifles', so if I was to plump for one of these, I'd forward mount a scout rifle scope, and get myself some big game silhouette targets. A pistol scope mounted towards the front of the rail should have the right eye relief and get the look,... and it would be fun to turn up at the range and have some 'expert' tell you you're doing it all wrong,.... : -)

    I agree, Umarex have 'hit the target' so to speak with these. I have the brass version hopefully arriving Monday and might get another as I want one as a wall hanger.
    Only thing missing in that review was whether this has a rifled barrel [just checked, apparently not although many people are reporting pellets shoot fine and are accurate in this].

    • @RDPproject
      @RDPproject 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Mine does have a rifled inner barrel.

    • @loc4725
      @loc4725 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RDPproject Interesting. A couple of places say smoothbore and Umarex says use BB's, which are not good on rifling unless lead. Might be a U.K. / E.U. thing; I'll leave this tab open have a look when mine arrives.
      *Edit* :
      replicaairguns (the Canadian site) states:
      "SKU: GPUMX2251818"
      "Umarex Legends Cowboy CO2 Steel BB Rifle"
      "Barrel: 482.6 (19 in), metal, non-rifled, smoothbore"
      So I don't know. In my experience all North American airgun imports tend to be the same, configuration-wise. Guess I'll find out Monday!

    Mk2 carbine, this is like the modern lever action in call of duty modern warfare (minus the large John Wayne loop)
    I have the gold shell ejecting Winchester (didn't even know they released other finishes until a few months back). This one is nice but even with iron sites on the cowboy legends version, it's pretty accurate. Wish they did a thin long 1800s scope for it

    I feel like the shell-ejection would get old pretty quickly. With it's real counterpart, the shells get ejected and then you either pick them up and dispose of them or leave them, but you don't have to immediately reload them and stick them back in the gun. The realish shells in the pistol makes sense, because they don't eject and fly all over the place. Still looks like a fun gun, though

      You're welcome mate. There's also a good double barrel airsoft shotgun that can use the APS shells with a bit of modification. Check out chiinnature on TH-cam

      @@radwald189 will do thank you. I’ve just had a look at the wood version of the APS and it looks awesome, charging the shells looks a little time consuming but at the end of the day it’s all about the looks the realism and the action, perhaps one for Andy to review in between new releases 👍

    That looks like a great fun rifle! But what I would like to know is when are Umarex going to send us the S&W model 29 pistols? I cant wait to get my hands on the 3 inch model!

    It looks very interesting, reminds me of the old "Rifleman " TV show. Does Umarex use the same size shells in all there guns? I have one of there .357 revolvers and the shells look the same.

    The entire stock should have been made of carbon fiber and used as a air tank. It would hold more air and increase shoot count, psi and fps.

    Heya, I am thinking about getting this.
    BUT so far I heard some really disconverning news about how it mechanically failed after less than a thousand shots.
    Do you know if they improved on that, or have any long term experience to share on your own?

    Has anyone thought about putting 1.77 darts in the shells because it’s a smooth barrel would be cool to see might be worth buying one and finding out

    Not many still use the 'flamingo technique' when shooting standing 🤣
