  • Adolf Anderssen's Evergreen Game is one of the finest chess games ever played. Anderssen uses the Evan's Gambit to seize a large initiative and overwhelm his uncastled opponent, Dufresne, with an amazing combination!
    Lessons:
    * Don't delay. Castle!
    * Material can be traded for activity, central control, and more.
    * You may need to sacrifice to expose a king in the middle.

    I'm a beginner. This video is amazing cause explains the moviments and strategies. Other channels summarily just shows the moviments

    White had two bishops, two rooks and two queens pointing at enemy king, no wonder he had won :). By the way - very nice explanation video ;)

    Awesome .. love the one move at a time concept ... such a great learning experience to know the idea behind a move with limited alternative moves/analysis presentation

    Thanks for showing the game! Secretly pleased with myself, as I managed to solve it when I paused the vid at 14:25 :)
    One quibble: I would prefer it if the pieces moved slower. Is it just me, or do other people also think that chess pieces in modern TH-cam videos move at a pace that makes it challenging to keep up with the game?

    Very grateful for the way and style of showing those games, so beautiful as instructive.- P.D.: dear Sam, please I personally prefer the vertical board.

    Great explanation, but the way you give examples on top of the actual game becomes very confusing visually. Try to visually distinguish what position are the actual game and which moves are your analysis.

    I am a beginner, can anyone explain why he says at the beginning that white bishop to b5 is more popular? would black not just play pawn to a6 to counter this?
