No right now I am just using basic equipment either my laptop or phone. The first thing I would like to invest in is a microphone

      @-KingOfKhaos 2 ปีที่แล้ว

I think for the vast majority of TH-camr’s, especially those just starting out, or those on a budget, this is as basic (and yet still moderately advanced) as it gets while providing an excellent audio-visual end product! I assure you there are new Tubers that will watch this, learn the basic set-up needed for lighting and sound, and it will boost their production quality ten-fold. I tend to do mostly audio narrations on my channels, but when I do on camera presentations, this is essentially a similar rig to how I run mine. I use a different mic and such, but that’s what makes this a fun platform. So many variations to make channels unique. That’s what we really need is more creative setups so that we don’t end up with carbon copypasta everywhere 🤣
I will keep saying this… your channel is invaluable to new-to-moderately advanced content creators. Always excellent content / advice / tips / tricks / planning methods.

Excellent video. I am 77 years old and I had a career in commercial photography and then a second career teaching photography and studio portraiture. You are spot on with your lighting set up. Front lighting, rim hair lighting, accent background lighting and a good lighting ratio on your face. If Joseph Karsh was alive the famous premiere portrait photographer who made the famous shot of Winston Churchill was alive, he would give you two thumbs up. Thanks for all the tech info also. 👍👍

One thing I've not heard from any of the YT video trainers is the parallel cameras they have running to make jump cuts during a regular video.
I know you called out the fact that you're using a second camera to show your studio in this video, but a separate video about 2nd camera/phones and jump cut strategies for recording yourself from different angles while you talk would be a huge help.

What I'm wondering is that in other reviews it's said that especially the Sigma Art lenses with HSM are sharp but not ideal for videos because the focus is pumping a lot before finding the right focus. Do you have similar experience with your Sigma 16mm lens?
