I am so glad to have found you, we moved into Brooksville fl. and I was beginning to wonder where i could find good fish. we intend to purchase a good cc 20 ft ish .just so i can go out to such reef areas.. thanke you and tight lines my brother.
Best rod for the money hands down i have 4! Caught we big kings, grouper, snapper, sheepshead, Cobia, redfish, snook, you name it. 7’6”-8’ with a sienna reel 15-20lb braid. Can’t beat it.
Justin Whaley thanks I was thinking of doing some free diving there this weekend but with the viz already poor and the storms coming I might just stay dry thanks for the response much appreciated
I just watched this video and I have to say, you guys killed it!! Excellent action. I have been living in New Port Richey since August 2016 and I fish from shore or kayak close to shore. I generally am thrilled if I can catch 3 keeper Sheepshead or Mangrove Snapper in one day. I saw you said you were in 30 feet of water, how far offshore is that? Is that like 20 miles offshore? Kudos to the captain for putting you guys on the fish, great job!
@@capt.justinwhaley-jwfishin6896 I'll just keep looking for the rocks and locations. I think I found a spot on the map off of the barge canal I'm going to check out next trip
What was the spot where you caught the grouper?

Dog days of winter ...beautiful video gonna fish on Tuesday! Crappie and 34° ... can't wait to get back to Florida
+Justin Whaley is that a calico jack fishing rod? Is it holding up still for this type of fishing? I was looking at getting one.

Justin Whaley thanks for the reply and the information. I'm going to get a few of them. Great video also!
In Homosassa area and just got a 16ft Jon Boat. Where can I hook up on some fish!?
Maybe we can meet up and we can take my boat out to catch some snapper and gags while I'm down in July
Hey how was the water visibility at the reef ?
It was rough a couple days prior so it wasn't very good

Man that awesome!! When is the sheepshead run over there in Florida... usually hits late march here in texas
Usually slows down first week of March here.
What hook did you use?
them public numbers you fish at or ones you found
Mostly public numbers
What kind of structure were you fishing on?
All of the snapper are at the public reef in 30ft the sheeps are on a rocky ledge in a hole where they spawn

Try the area marked citrus reefs and stuff on the map or the main artificial reef in 30ft loaded with fish till April
do u have braided line on your pole??
Yes every pole
FLORIDAS FINEST what's a pole?
can u catch them with fresh dead shrimp?
Of course! Sheepshead for sure. Snapper chum bag and toss in pieces of shrimp and free line a dead one
Is this an artificial reef?
The snapper are always at the public artificial reef
Nice boat you're killing them where are you guys at
Public reef 20 miles usually
How deep?
30ft
su you dont reply?
Wow ,,, a lot sheepshead I love it good meat bro👌😍
Calico jacks are the best sheepshead rods, stronger than any st.croix and just as sensitive, for the price you snap them and it's no big deal
What a slay fest
