@@ErikWaitWhiskyStudies thank you kind sir 🙏
I'll check it out right now.
I bought a bottle of Bunnahabhain 12. It's still enroute. I'm excited to try this. Thank you for your great reviews sir! I love the humor about trying to not mispronounce it 😂
Thanks for watching! The Bunnahabhain 12 is one of my favorites and I recommend it often.
I think I might grab it next month. Haven't tried any of the buna's. Thanks for the review 😊
Hope you like it!
Dude, I had to subscribe, nothing but Islays, this is just awesome, you are the 3rd whiskey reviewer I've subscribed to. If you stay in Islay, you could be my favorite.
I think your guest nailed the pronunciation
I love this one. Love Buunahabhain and this one is also excellent.
Excellent review. I've never tried this one but I've had my eye on it as with several Bunnahabhain expressions. They recently got rid of their 100% ex-bourbon peated expression. It's quite a crowded field at this price with some real winners and that's probably why I haven't bought it. I'm sure it's perfectly decent though.
Great review. Enjoyed this Bunnahabhain expression very much.
Keep it coming love all the content, can’t wait for Lagavulin and Bruichladdich part of this series.
Sounds great, Ben! Likewise. Eager anticipation.
History, last month
Oh yeah haha, he did those already. I just want more, Erik more Islay please!!! 🥃
Great review Erik!! And I’ve got this bottle on my rack will be opening this one now for my birthday tomorrow! Barbecue and peat! I’m all in!
I love how Erik holds the glass. His descriptions are uncanny.
I kind of liked this expression. I got most of your notes. As an Islay whisky lover, this is something I'd buy (my first taste was a gift bottle). I like this better than the 12yo.
Is it sacrilegious to mix this 50/50 with Ardbeg 10. Same ABV and to be honest somehow a very complementary setup. I have been finding Toiteach A Dha kind of bitter on the finish and a bit unbalanced whereas Ardbeg 10 has a sweeter and more balanced profile. I am still trying to figure out if Ardbeg is dominating but at this point I am really enjoying the fusion experience.
Blend away! I like to blend 50/50 with Supernova and Corryvreckan. I call it the "Ultimate Dram": th-cam.com/video/acPuLG6cfvg/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for de video,,open the botlle 2 days ago and i like, cheers!!!!!!
I agree with your review. I might have liked a wee more than you as I scored it an 88-89. I'm not likely to replace it.
When i visited the distillery last year they told us that their peaty expressions are not lower than 35ppm and the unpeated ones max 2ppm👍🏻😄
Another good review, Erik. You saved me some money because this one sounds over priced relative to the quality. Thanks and keep up your great series on the Islay treasures.
Greetings Erik!
What you can advice if i wanna get my first Bunna bottle? I like Laphroaig 10 (early releases), Ardbeg 10, Port Charlotte 10 (bought because of your review!). What from Bunnahabhain will be most interesting?
Watch this video, I talk about the entire core range of Bunnahabhain: th-cam.com/video/30A7cL_TraA/w-d-xo.html

Saw it, now choosing between 12, Moine and Toiteach... 12 and Toiteach we have locally for 55$, but Moine available only from Netherlands, up to 70$ with shipping.
Got this bottle delivered today!
AWESOME!
I just bought the same bottle last night... I didn't know how to pronounce it either. The shop keeper gave me something like Toy-Ticket-ah.
This is a fantastic whisky, i agree it could need a bit in the finish, but in my opinion its worth the price, at least to experience this side of bunnahabhain. Its in my top 30 so far.
Intresting review since I recently been eyeballing Toiteach a Dhà, the "standard" Moine, (wich isn't the oloroso version) and Stiùireadair
What are your thoughts about the standard Moine compared to Toiteach a Dhà and Stiùireadair taste wise, points and bang for the buck?
I've thought about the 12yo too. Mabe someday.
The 18yo and up to 44yo and a limited edition from 1980 are soooo expensive.
Moine coming in at $46 USD and
Stiùireadair is $54 USD
Toiteach a Dhà is $58 USD.
Thank you Erik!
Anything from Bunnhabhain with "Moine" in the title is a definite "buy", especially if it is sherry cask finished.

Niice! Thank you Erik!
I will get the Moine! 🤗
Great review I laughed so hard at the intro. Bunnabablain 12 will be my 3rd peated whiskey to try. My first was Connemara which I liked. My love is Ardbeg An Oa. Will the bunnabablain 12 be on the same flavor profile. It will be here in 2 weeks. I got it for $55 tax included @ total wine and more. I think I got a good deal😄
I guess it's alot less peaty than the Ardbeg, but tasty nonetheless!
Bunna 12 isn't peated..
whoa imagine starting peat with Connemara. That's amazing.
Wonder what it would be like if you mixed this with the 12 and the 18... Would it end up raising the score on the 18?
Hmmm..... not a bad idea.... I'll try it!
I am eyeing this one for my next batch. My limited experience with peated whiskies has been hit-or-miss so far - I did not like Laphroaig 10 at all, but I liked the PX thanks to its sherriness, so I am interesting in giving more peated/smokey sherried whiskies a try. Should I try this or jump straight to the Eirigh na Greine which would no doubt be safer as my first Bunnahabhain?
I am a big fan of Bunnahabhain but I have not ahd the Eirigh na Greine. In fact, I've not seen it in the USA.Have you tried Ardbeg An Oa? It is also PX cask finished.
@@ErikWaitWhiskyStudies i haven't. Waiting for a chance to mooch/sample both Ardbeg and Lagavulin. Might be that I end up adjusting my order to have more rums in which case the Bunna will have to go, as it is the most uncertain of the lot...
Erik, what is your favorite peated Bunnahabhain? I love this review by the way, today i opened this bottle and later i saw your review, we found the same tasting notes
Any Bunnahabhain with the word “Moine” in the name, which is Gaelic for “Peated.” Especially if it’s a sherry cask.
We need to hear what you think of Abhainn Araig.
I need to have a bottle of Abhainn Araig.
@@ErikWaitWhiskyStudies I am sorry but I cannot possibly part with mine. It cost me $195CAD. Obviously an overpayment but I just love Bunnahabhain so much.
I loved it
You know what? i wonder if you tasted this scotch, right after opening it? i've found with the Bunnahaabhain 12 and with this Toiteach a Dha, it needs some oxygen. i think the tar taste melts away with a bit of age and oxygen. IMHO.
I'm not a fan of neck pour reviews. So I don't review a whisky until I at least get it past the shoulder and has been open for at least a week.
For arround 30-40 € it is a good whisky, anything above that I would buy something else. My friends and I gave this one a name: Tojcheck😎
I never met an Islay whisky I didn’t like!
Love yr review : U r a funny Master ! ... it is spoken Tik-Tok-Tak . . .
LOfuckingL dude!

Pronounced 'toe-chack'. 😄
