Him getting choked up at the end :( so precious
Oh the dad is so proud of his little girl, so very happy for them.
Bullshit, hes her supervisor suppose shes not a good pilot??
Believe it. "Best flight of my life" is, still, one of biggest understatements we will ever hear. It is absolutely impossible to imagine how proud, happy and accomplished this men must have felt. Safe landings, for both of them.
Wow, what a beautiful family! Such a blessing to be raised in supportive family environment. Congrats to you all!
I love it. Flying with a family member who is also a pilot onboard is the true test of CRM (Crew Resource Management). Not only do you have to let go of any reservations and do your job, but to also set aside the fact that there is a familial hierarchy onboard; forcing yourself to be able to speak up when need be. A lot of lessons to learn and confidence to build here that you don’t get with just flying alone or with another pilot who’s a stranger.
No doubt. It's an interesting one though, it could change family to family. If anything I'd be far more comfortable with my Dad than with a captain Ive never flown with before. We have a fantastic relationship and he was never authoritarian in nature - so that could be different depending on who your family member is.
That’s just really sweet! What a proud dad.
Bullshit, hes her supervisor suppose shes not a good pilot??
Who didn't start to cry until the very end of the video when the dad was talking? 😭😭
To all fathers of daughters, bravo.
Congratulations to her for making her dreams come true. And to a very proud dad.
I'm not crying 1:29
It's great and refreshing to watch such a bright young fellow follow in her dad's footsteps.
Cute. Fly on young kids
I feel this. I’m an airline pilot. My daughter was half way through her commercial rating when she quit. Doesn’t want to do it. Went back to school to finish her last few credits towards a degree in accounting.
More like your name; back and forth 😂😂😂
@@abu-ff8wsu didnt need to say this bro 😭😂
Hell freaking YES. Why can’t all news be like this?
That is simply the BEST Flight crew ANY passenger could want...! Awesome...! Should be more of it...!
Very proud day for him . Love his daughter
Dad, you did good!!!! Something to be proud of
It’s so heartwarming to see happy news for a change. It’s usually all wars and negativity!
Absolutely awesome! 🫡🇺🇸
THis is beautiful!
That good , relative having a flying job together.
Wow, what an incredible and heartwarming story! It’s amazing to see a father and daughter both flying together as pilots, sharing such a special moment in such a unique and significant way. Congratulations to First Officer Mackenzie Rennhack on her debut flight, and kudos to Captain Michael Rennhack for supporting his daughter’s journey. Also, the passengers were so happy about it. I love how people join in to share this joy! This truly exemplifies the strength of family bonds and the power of following one’s dreams. May God bless them with many more safe and joyful flights together.
"God" does not exist, but your message is positive and you mean well, so I gave your comment a Like :)
Aww, that's sweet his daughter is a co-pilot flying with her father that is really adorable
Just need mom to be the flight attendant and granny to check everyone in and grandpa as the flight controller.
She put in so much work to be in that seat.
I'm currently in flight school and just had my first child (daughter) with my wife, I won't be pushing for this to happen but if it does I'm sure it would be a really proud moment 😊
🎉🎉🥳🥳👍👍👍.... GREAT JOB DAD👑✅
I love these types of stories
Congrats keep on flying
That is awesome
Amazing
how cool is that
Kudos to Southwest for highlighting this, and ABC News for reporting it. Go women pilots!
Awesome
❤❤❤❤❤❤ something beautiful to celebrate!!!!!!!
💪🏼you go girl! 💪🏼
Way to go DAD!!! 😊
This is thrilling news! Thank you for sharing! Got a huge smile right about now! 🎉🎉🎉
Love it!! Congratulations!!! Well done!!
I was not expecting them them to be from here🤩🤩GO FAMILY GO😆😆😆
From TH-cam?
@@newmankidman5763 from AZ
@@GageTucker-of2wd, ah, okay.
AZ is one of the biggest states for pilots along with CA and Florida so it makes sense.
Dude, that’s awesome 😎
Fly safe
Wild for a dad to encourage his daughter to work for the airlines when he knows how the pilots and flight attendants get down while constantly traveling 😂
God's blessings and grace be with both.
On landing I heard she said "Don't mess up the landing old man"
Me wondering why most news view southwest airlines
This is Ruben AMEN 🙏🧸🧸🙏🤗🙌
Perfect. Me and my dad we drink the same club.
Ppl that apologize after asking dads : “ how many girls & boys do you have? “
Dad : “ proud to have only girls! “
Random person:
“ oh, IM SO SORRY “
Wtf is that supposed to mean????
Absolutely NO father of all girls is ashamed & is extremely proud of their little girl/girls! ❤
were they the ones taking off a closed runway?
Oh my God God bless The father and daughter In Jesus name Blessing blessing
They weren’t the ones that took off from a closed runway a few mornings ago without clearance and almost hit an airport ground vehicle, were they?
Who's cutting onions????
At least the dad didn’t force the airline to hire his daughter with the 55th pick
The Lebron/Bronny of South West Airlines
Not me crying into my beans
Not the beans
Delta: we love to fly
Southwest: we love to fight
Nepotism at its finest
But some people are upset that Lebron is playing Basketball with his son. Dad made this happen for his daughter. No difference!
She had to earn it. Brony James would have been a 3rd string if it wasn’t for Lebron. 😂
What are you talking about? She had to go to flight school get all her ratings, build all her flight time on her own. He may have paid for her flight training and got her an interview. But if a captain and a first officer are out of the same base, they’re gonna fly together at some point
What a beautiful moment
nepo baby
NO! Nepo baby is blue ivy!
Proud Pop
Bet you this is the same plane that almost crashed while they took the selfie
Awe, the 1/1000000000000000000 shot she had to be born into a family where her father was a pilot and all of her flight time was paid for. Easy Street at a whole new level. Nice job, though
XXOO
I hope the plane was not a Max, but i think it was
It’s either an 800 or 700, the cockpit looked older.
Did he let her fly?
If it was his son, ABC wouldn't have covered it.
Nope.
I would not want to fly with them because they might distract each other.
I want simple professionalism when my life is in your hands.
It's cute, but she doesn't even know what to call him, that is indecision or confusion.
Doctors don't do trauma surgery on their own kids for a reason.
Is she a DEI hire?
As millions of American families simply feel sorry for themselves, never pushing themselves to achieve anything other than asking for a free handout…
How is 22 years almost 3 decades
God bless your family with good health and prosperity 🙏 in the name of Jesus Christ 🙏Amen
But then we all realized that they were flying a Boeing Jet Airline
Be quiet every Boeing plane does not crash, even though there is a lot of Boeing failures right now, every Boeing, plane is not crashing, now be quiet
Hope it's not a boeing
Pairing up pilots and co-pilots who have any type of relationship is probably not the safest thing to do.
The pilot and co-pilot need to have a working relationship where they can question the other when they think they are making a mistake.
Also they should be focused on safety rather than getting emotional about a personal milestone.
If that daughter saw her father making a mistake whilst flying the aircraft, there is no way she would correct him, and that is extremely bad for safety.
If that daughter saw her father making a mistake, there's no way she would correct him? Why? So that she can die along with him? Do you people even think before saying anything?
Did he buy her spot for her like Lebron did with his son?
That’s actually a bad idea. The first officer needs to be able to challenge the captain if they think that something isn’t right. When it’s your dad, you might not be willing to speak up.
Agreed. And the cockpit selfie is not reassuring.
This has been happening for decades and there has never been an issue.
That's true but they've (pilots have) definitely gone through training on being willing to speak up. And this family seems super supportive and open so I don't see an issue with them flying responsibly.
You can take selfies when you are just in the cockpit.
This is called power gradient, and it’s exactly as what you described but with most senior captains or new first officers. Thankfully, this trend has been noticed in accidents and now all pilots are required to go through CRM training, which teaches communication skills in the cockpit. Part of this is teaching the captain to listen, and for the FO to speak up. Even if this was a special case where the dad wasn’t open, i doubt his daughter would pursue aviation or be comfortable flying with him if she didn’t trust him to listen. Especially at an airline as hard to get into as Southwest! Both are very talented and will understand proper CRM.
Are they the criminally negligent Southwest pilots who recently took off at Portland from a CLOSED runway
Literally say in the video what airports they flew into and neither one of them were Portland.
Seems like there should be a policy against this. Flight Deck discipline/procedural issues perhaps?
Just my gut reaction
Nope! All pilots go through CRM courses to ensure captains listen to their first officers and first officers speak up. Good to be skeptical and ask questions! but it’s perfectly safe 👍
Nice. But its not safe for men to fly with a woman. 40 years later you get some false accusation. Dont need that in my life.
This is freaking cool...I'll bet he is a proud dad. Wonder who he supports for president this upcoming election?
He'll definitely vote for Trump....Very proud dad for sure
Shame on Southwest for promoting Nepotism. Family members supervising other family members is a conflict of interest, regardless of this is in the air. The airline should be fined and crew scheduling should be investigated and reprimanded as this clearly violates company policy.
It’s not an FAA regulation and most airlines don’t have policies on family members sharing the flight deck. And I can’t think of a scenario where a conflict of interest would occur on a flight as flight procedures are as sterile as it gets. Quit being a hag over something that happens many many times
@@statingtheobvious8119 I’m not a hag. The FAA does not regulated Southwest Airlines internal policies. The FAA also doesn’t not regulate crew scheduling. This was just for attention. Fathers should not supervise their children. Captain’s supervise first officers. This was probably only allowed because of they are white. This would never happen for minorities.
In another part of the world, there was an incident where an airplane technician replaced the front windshield of an airplane with the wrong screws. The front windshield popped off while the plane was in the air. The pilot got sucked out halfway and the other pilot had to grab onto the pilot's legs to prevent him from getting sucked out all the way. Surprisingly, they landed the plane and everybody lived. Imagine what the outcome would have been if the other pilot was a woman.
wha-
wtf are you on about, the FO isn’t the one who tugged him back in it was a flight attendant and another person. don’t speak on accidents you don’t understand, especially if it’s just to be a bigot. do you understand how hard it is to become a pilot? let alone southwest airlines. you really think the safest industry is tossing in women for a diversity quota, or do you maybe think that the lack of crashes caused by women is just proof that they are perfectly competent?
@@UrPilotNatt You are mostly correct about the 1990 British Airways incident. It was 2 flight attendants who held on to the Captain while the First Officer returned for a landing. Also, yes it is very hard to become a pilot but absolutely most US carriers overdo it as they (for some stupid reason) look for diversity in applicants and hire many ahead of other applicants having considerably greater experience or qualifications. It is also interesting, (it's not hard to find these numbers) and something I have noticed over many years that the percentage of female pilots who have been involved in airline accidents is much higher than the relatively low percentage of female pilots overall. I am not drawing any conclusions here, only presenting some facts.
Can she fly the plane?? Who cares if its his daughter? If she screws up he wont take action against her. This is NOT good. Cute stories dont fly airplanes. There should be a neutral relationship between a pilot and second officer for safteys sake.
Yeah she is in the cockpit without knowing how to fly! Aviation isn't law enforcement, to take anyone they find on the streets and train them for 6 months. Aviation has enormous standards. Getting a pilot licence is ridiculously difficult
@@jjr2574 Ever hear of the FAA?
Wow.. now that’s some news
Btw for those who can’t tell that’s sarcasm

Female pilot. Nope
Pilot is an underpaid, underappreciated profession so who would raise his daughter to be a pilot 😢
A few years ago new first officers where underpaid at the start of their careers, but captains on major carriers made pretty good money. I've heard pay has gotten better for new pilots due to the shortage, but I'm not completely sure.
Really?!
Ummm…first off, what a rude comment. Secondly, pilots can make really good money! What are you on about?
why planes crash

Quick proof that God is real: if there is a building that you see, but you don’t know who built it, then the logical sense is to assume that a builder built it, and it didn’t just show up out of nowhere. If there is painting, then that’s proof that there’s a painter who made that painting even if they have passed away a long time ago. So, if we have creation- Earth, the sky, grass, flowers, animals, us, etc, then isn’t the logical sense to assume there is a creator?
Have you ever used God’s name in vain-like a cuss word, lied, stolen, hated someone, gossiped, lusted, etc(see more in the 10 commandments)? This is called sin and we’ve all done at least one of these. Now, sin is basically doing something against God’s will. Now because we have done something against His will, it’s good to note that He is Just. A JUST judge wouldn’t look at a guilty criminal and give them a non-guilty verdict for what they’ve done. And if the Judge is Just, they wouldn’t let the criminal go if they had said that they had done something Good. Our actions are way more serious and cannot be paid off of just because I did something Good. (So good works cannot save us) This is exactly How God is! He’s so just that He looks at us, and He has to send us to hell. Scary right? But HERE’S THE GOOD NEWS!! Usually, there is bail- a payment that someone can do for a guilty criminal so that they can be set free- legally. Now here’s JESUS, who is GOD and takes our place for us THROUGH DYING ON THE CROSS FOR OUR SINS- to basically pay off the price that sin created. See Romans 6:23, but here’s what Jesus did: John 3:16, Romans 4:25, 2 Corinthians 5:21 AND
Romans 10:9-10
If we believe in Jesus and repent (turn away from sin) then we will be saved from our punishment. But we must continue this relationship with Jesus!
Rom 3:23
For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Rom 6:23
For the wages of sin is death;
Psalms 9:17
The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.
Acts 8:37
And Philip said, If thou believest with all thine heart, thou mayest. And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Rom 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Corinthians 15:3-4
For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
Ephesians 2:8-9
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.
