The flight duration to Qatar is influenced by the wind direction. Headwinds can extend the flight time, while tailwinds can shorten it.
Whaaaaaaaaat?!!!! Really?!?!!? No way
Yup it does
Tailwinds means more cruising speed right? 🤔
Yes.I agree with you. Wind resistances.
Almost. The answer is because of the jet streams, that always go west to east.
The return flight is longer due to the wind direction, heading to auckland you are going with the wind making it quicker but heading back to Doha, you are going against the winds which makes the flight time slower.
I flew on QR-921 from AKL-DOH and QR-610 and it was the best experience of my life the economy class food tasted like first class and INSHALLAH I will fly with Qatar airways again!😊
My daughter works for Qatar Airways as a cabin crew member and she recently worked on this flight.
Well thanks to your daughter and her colleagues for the brilliant level of service they consistently deliver 😎
What a marvellous video, thanks for letting us have a glimpse of this exciting yet responsible life of Pilots.
Love this airline, country and airport
Love you From Bangladesh 🇧🇩❤️🇧🇭
What a great video! We need more
As it spins clockwise your moveing with the planet, and as you back your moveing against it.its like swimming upstream
"There and back again"!
The flight time changes as the head wind and the tail wind play a major role in determining the speed of the aircraft
*The flight from Doha benefits from tailwinds. The return from Auckland faces headwinds slowing it down. Also, the flight paths for both flights may influence the flight duration.*
Best airline ever. Loved flying business class to the Maldives from Houston. They treat you like royalty. I also love the nod to The Hobbit at 0:28 ❤
Absolutely love Qatar Airways 🇶🇦 Love using them for our channels travels 🥰 Top class service and food always
There and back again!! Bilbo Baggins!
I flew this both legs in December 23 and January 24 . Great service and experience even in Economy
It is the wind and a upper atmosphere affect that is called jet streams
I've flown on QR921 to Doha and then onto London during Covid 2020, 777-200. As much as I like flying, that was brutal!
The return flight is longer because the crew has been eating a lot during the 2-day layover, causing the plane to weight more and fly slower
A few kilograms is a small addition compared to the tons of fuel. Think again
I have the privilege of flying economy with Qatar Airways at the end of august, I absolutely cannot wait. 😎
The globe is turning.the return journey is just the opposite of turning.
I always flew on Qatar Airways it is very professional from check-in counter to destination airport out... ❤
Do you hate non muslims
Because there can be weather conditions checking the aircraft for damages and tickets?
Excellent video. Very interesting and informative.
The flight duration towards Doha is longer as Headwinds are the predominant wind, resulting in a lower GS. I captain a 380 flight between the UAE and AKL, man, it's a long one.
Did all the crew members have any time to look around Auckland?
@@faithingley7683 We do occasionally. (i actually grew up in Auckland so I like to take the crew around) Sometimes sleep is all we want though!
@@IfinallyvanquishedfinderOut of curiosity are you based in Dubai or in NZ
I am a new subscriber, greeting from Algeria.
I travel to China two times with Qatar Airways business class.
Thank you for your comfortable trip and excellent service.
the wonderful magic of jet steams!!
Return flight benefited the equatorial easterly jet streams?
The duration of the flight to Qatar is heavily influenced by the wind direction. Headwinds that slow the aircraft down by forcing it from the front can extend the flight time, while tailwinds forcing it from the rear of the aircraft, like the aircraft is flying on a river stream of wind, can speed it up.
Jet stream is the answer why the eastbound flight is faster than the westbound flight😎
I have taken this flight several times over the past few years, but have not made it in the new Airbus jet. I’m sure it is an upgrade from the Boeing 777 extended range which was getting very long in the tooth. The service on board, however, was always first rate.
Westbound flights are longer because of the jet streams that head eastbound! So the eastbound flights get a boost.
I flew with Qatar Airways I'm telling you had th best experience 😊
Jetstreams of wind causes GS higher given same TAS depending on wind direction?...
Qatar, minha PRECIOSA 💎🥂👏🏻🇧🇷
The flight time to Qatar is influenced by Jet streams and they are fast flowing, narrow air currents found in the atmospheres of some planets, including Earth. They are primarily found in the upper levels of the atmosphere and flow from west to east.
Winds depend on flight time and at the time of recording there was a headwind on the way back
The wind direction changes so the aircraft has more headwind on the way back
Whos also here from tiktok because they were curious and interested 😂😂
I love QatarAirways
I flew on that flight in March this year Auckland to Doha, grueling but Qatar are a good arline so it wasn't too bad, I noticed that for most of the journey the window blinds were down! Odd!
Earths rotation direction?
I flew on the a350-1000
The inernet says that qatar Airways is best. I'd rather be in qatar Airways than Pegasus. The boarding music is great! The safety video is funny!
I have been in qatar Airways in 2023 June/July.
My guest is a flight attendant. I like to experience qatar Airways again!
I like Arabic rice, but i can't go back to qatar.
So I wanted to go to qatar
I think my dad is gonna use qatar Airways.
I really love qatar,
So if you wanna try qatar Airways
Like cornice and Festival.
Go to qatar Airways!
Love qatar from bosnia.
QATAR 🇶🇦💕
What goes into piloting this long flight is... a lot of coffee! ;)
The return flight is always longer the the outbound flight due to the prevailing head winds.
The wind and rotation of the earth.
There should also be an insight into what the cabin crew does on such long flights.
Sometimes we don’t even sit or sip water once during ULH flights
Why earth rotation has no effect on the flight duration?
Why is it longer? If not the winds, maybe the coriolis effect.
Not only for this airline, but winds are headed from west towards east, that is why the flights against wind takes longer.
Its longer on the way back because of the winds caused by the jet stream by the way i would really like to be a pilot for qatar airways
Is the difference in flight time due to the earth's rotation causing wind patterns to move from the west to east? I'm not sure, but this is even noticeable in a 3-4 hour flight, that it is always a bit quicker going east. Such a great video. If the wind is in the right direction, sometimes this exact flight flies directly over my house in Auckland on its way to Doha. Now I know more about it.
I have flown from/to Doha and Auckland many times and it’s long but smooth flight. Only thing I hate about is Doha Airport, it’s small and don’t have gates so planes are parked in tarmac
Maybe it's because of the earth rotation which can be parallel to the flight traveling direction
Thanks for information end beautiful video end professional stuff !I do fly all time with Qatar….. Ther best airline Qatar
Aggersnamoni, minha paixão Qatar, meu sonho poder trabalhar nesta nação 💃🏻🥂💎💙🇧🇷 sou cabin crew, cuidadora de idosos e crianças, estou a disposição 💎🥂
@@celesteg.3810you can work for airlines if you interested the best airline in wolds if you are young ! Wish you all best luck Aggers
It's a very tuff, Stranious, and painful profession. No one will understand until they join this profession.😊
Because while returning the air against the direction of travel. There is air resistance
It’s because of the head winds, on the way back
I really really want to fly for Qatar Airways
I think that the outbound flight to Oakland takes less time because the plane flies in the same direction of the Earth's rotation, and the attractive force of the Earth is less strong when the plane travels in the same direction. It's almost like the effect of a catapult.
A350-1000❤
Headwinds and tailwinds impact a flight's duration. In the sky, there are winds and their directions, and aircraft have a limit as to how fast the air relative to the wings move. In a headwind, the speed of air, or airspeed, is greater than a tailwind, which blows in the opposite direction (same direction the aircraft is going) assuming the ground speed (the speed of the ground relative to the aircraft) stays the same. Airplanes want to maintain a certain airspeed when flying, and unless the wind direction doesn't change, the ground speed must change so the airspeed changes accordingly. The return flight from Auckland will have to fly with a headwind, and then the ground speed must decrease. Now it will take the aircraft longer to fly this distance. Aviation is very interesting ❤😃!
Why did you reupload this?
They made a couple of mistakes in their last upload.
For example, the video they used landing into Auckland airport, wasn't even close to looking like landing at Auckland airport.
Tailwind component going, headwind component coming.
Flying East to West is always a longer flight time for any routes
Ok, now do one for FAs ☺️
Deve ser uma "profissão " mto difícil! São responsáveis pelo avião....mas tb pelos passageiros!
Uma falha....pode ser fatal!
É raro! Felismente!🙏
Tailwind to Headwind
Basically due to Earth's rotation or the effect of Coriolis effect. Aircrafts travel faster from west to east
How can i be a pilot for Qatar Airways?
Because flying through different time zones
The flight back depends on air traffic and the time of day
17 hours due to wind moving opposite of jet stream!
Winds, and the rotation of the earth changes the flight duration
Iam 10 when im 23 can i get a job after training
❤
Headwind in flying to the east makes flight longer
Why did they skip the part when the pilots have fun with the flight attendants? 😂
The return trip takes longer because of the jet stream.
It takes longer because of the rotation of earth
people that know this is a reupload.
please just reply to this
Yup!
They made a couple of mistakes in their last upload.
For example, the video they used landing into Auckland airport, wasn't even close to looking like landing at Auckland airport.
So good on them for fixing those errors.
@@JustinHayvice yea, they should fly to my hometown of christchurch
It's longer due to the winds.
Headwind dominant route, not to mention nasty jet streams smashing ya in the face
.. all to do with ,Grenitch meantime 😊
01:59 you are bounding east, that s a sunrise not a sunset
Longer flight time on return due to winds.
Wind is the answer
Earth's rotation
✈️ EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED with @QatarAirways
Traveled from KWI-DOH-CAI on June 2nd and Qatar Airways lost my checked bag. It's been over 4 weeks and no resolution.
They gave me a claim number but no follow up. I've emailed and called repeatedly with no real updates or help finding my bag.
It's embarrassing to have to beg an airline for basic customer service after they misplaced my property. Not to mention the financial costs to replace everything that was in the bag.
As one of the top airlines in the world, I expected better than empty promises and run around. At this point I just want my belongings back or fair compensation. But the lack of concern or accountability shown is unacceptable.
Other travelers BEWARE - if your bag goes missing with Qatar, don't expect it to be priority. Learn from my expensive mistake and avoid this airline if you value your bags arriving intact!
Damn
longer on the way back due to earths rotation
He seems not to have liked any answers 😂
maybe because of the latititude and longitude
The flight attendants get 0 sleep
Wind Direction
Tail wings
winds usually blow from west to east therfore the returning flightis facing the wind which slows down the airplane (btw i flew on your a380 from doha to melbourn and back (: )
Because of Jet stream.
The worst airline in the world where they do not allow you to modify travel details, and the only solution is to cancel the ticket and deduct more than half of the amount. Based on their employees' instructions, I changed the ticket to a voucher, but the voucher had the same previous information and cannot be used. Unfortunately, it has expired and I lost nearly a thousand dollars. I hope everyone sees you for who you really are.
Yep, faced the same issue
