So stoked to see the Otay vid this morning. Makes my wrists and hands hurt just watching😅 For anyone planning an Otay ascent, it's good to know there are 3 roads to the top. The north side (Pio Pico), which Safa shot here, is by far the most difficult ascent and descent of the three. The East and West sides offer much more consistent (and manageable) grades as well as a better surface for a safe descent. Over all, Otay is a hidden gem of a climb in San Diego that should be on more peoples list.
I think SAFA doesn't realize he has brakes on his bike, dude was FLYING! So sketch to go that fast on a gravel bike, on the drops on a road you've never done before. Only SAFA!
That was pretty incredible! I spent years working on Otay Mesa looking at Otay Mountain... But never saw it the other way around! Thanks for the very neat, if not white knuckled ride along! ;) Stay safe! Looks like you know what you're doin' on that contraption!
Dang washboard. Even as a runner, I hate it! Can’t get a rhythm and generally running EARLY in the morning, so high chance of missteps! Nice video! Always love your content!
Hey SAFA! Wanted to say that I love your videos, I can literally spend hours watching them.. it's really an exhilarating experience! You inspired me to buy a gravel bike & take up gravel biking up here in Montreal, Canada! Oh, and to pick up a GoPro lol.. speaking of GoPros, what program do you use to combine the segmented clips that the GoPro automatically creates and merge them all into one big clip?
Nice ride, what's your top 3 san diego gravel rides and why? Looking for something not too technical and not crazy elevation. Usually do lake hodges or del mar
Mostly use overlays for fast road stuff. Gravel and mtb is more about the vibes and seeing how far we can push the grip 😂. Gravel Gods epsiodes have data overlays.

I climbed up the west side and it is definitely the way to go. Also filmed down there 😉

Another fantastic post. Curious what tires you’re riding and the pressure for that descent?

Brutal good view ☮️
If only bikes road on these roads, would it still create correlation over time?
Are you using external stabilisation software or is this the original camera footage?
Nice upper body workout though lol
Gimbal. Gear list in description
I miss the speed thingy 😓

I feel sorry for your bike for descending that fast on a rough road but you had great downhill handling.
Eat good and ride good...don't get too thin
