Your comment about synthetic fibers making more 'durable' waste really got my attention--not that I wasn't aware of it, just putting it into that context really made me think about it. Thanks for all your thoughtful and educational content, Liza!
Yes, my attention was focused on that comment too. It’s always been given as a good thing, but we know now, that fabric lasting a long time is a bad thing for our planet. Love these thoughtful videos. ❤
That was great! When I am clothes or fabric shopping I look at labels all the time. I live in the largest "city" on an out-of-the-way island. I don't like to shop online if I don't have to. But over the last few years I have noticed how difficult it is to find 100% natural fibres in any of the stores here. I went looking for wool sweaters a couple of winters ago and I was really frustrated! Any time I asked for a wool sweater the shop clerk would bring me over to a rack or table and looking at the label I saw it was some percentage of wool combined with synthetic. Some were as low as 10% wool -- which does NOT a wool sweater make! I did finally find a couple of 100% wool sweaters but it was an epic search. And there weren't many to choose from. Really regretting not hanging on to some of the wool pullovers I had in the past. Oh yeah...even the 2nd hand and charity shops had very little 100% wool. 😮😢 Since then I have made two 100% wool coat sweaters for myself...👍🏼
I’m thoroughly enjoying your videos. I’ve been designing/drafting clothing for over 30 years and sewing since childhood. I’m still learning so much from your content. Thank you for generously sharing your expertise.
You definately have a knack for explaining things. 😊
Love it. Great filming BTW. And editing!
That editing was so sassy, I love it 😆
