These really hit the feels of being an Asian American daughter and the love of our parents wanting what is best for our future through their never ending hard work❤️ Lol I’m probably just sensitive but I almost cry when she almost didn’t go to college because she was worried about her dad and his business, but he gave her such a heart warming talk of reassurance 🥲
Most Asian parents have high expectations of their son or daughter. I’m in Canada and I had similar experience. My parents worked many hours a day just to put my siblings and I to university. Education is very important in Asian culture.
Hit me in the feels. Though most Asian parents would probably have a much harder time to encourage their child verbally like that, but we all know they have the best intentions. Happy Lunar New Year to all
Dammnnn as an Asian (South African Born Chinese🇿🇦) this hit deeeeep in the feels! Similarly my parents ran a grocery store instead, struggled alot and I wanted to help them make it survive and successful once I finished school not even considering college. But when I got to that point, they said they only kept the shop going so that they could give my brother and I more options than the shop and the dreams they never had at our age. #GratefulForOurParents🙏
This is such a heart-touching video. It reminds me of all the asians parents who do whatever it takes to support education of their children. They are the super heroes of our lives. Happy New Year everyone!
Wow! I’m not Chinese-American but I’m a Dad with a daughter and this hit really hard. I’m tearing up as I’m writing this and, after I finish, I’ll quickly wipe the tears away before my daughter comes down and sees them.
I really miss my grandparents. When I was a kid, they always believe in my capabilities even though they are strict. When they migrate in the USA, I felt like half of me when missing, my home is missing. So whenever I have the opportunity to visit them in USA, I felt like, I have my home back. But ever since the Pandemic, I never went back. Even though, I’m not Chinese, I know all Asians want to make their parents and grandparents proud. I hope, I’m making them proud. Thank you, Wong Fu. So much.
Ughhh this hits right into the feels as an Asian. Though I live in the SE, I've lived in a Filipino-Chinese community for over a decade. And seeing this somehow made me nostalgic. Thanks, Wong Fu for staying creators and storytellers!
I'm moved beyond words. I remember way back when in college, Wong Fu was my favorite producer of hiphop dance videos. Almost two decades later, we are all older with more responsibilities. And WongFu is still living up to the name.
Made me cry and feel so many emotions, thank you wongfu! You guys do so much to increase representation and expand my view of other cultures experiences. And you know how to make short that's heart felt and ingaging, so good I don't even care it's an add. Just happy for you guys getting the opportunity and getting paid for doing what you do best!
Omfg, 88 dollars?! BECAUSE IT'S HER BA-BA?! (Ba-ba is both father and 88) Damn wong-fu, you sure don't pull your punches when you go for those gut feels.....
Love this. I am the daughter of Middle Eastern immigrants and I always find so much I relate to in Wong Fu’s content - I’ve been watching for over 10 years now. Thank you so much Wong Fu and happy Lunar New Year to everyone 🧧✨✨✨
“The reality is that it already succeeded right here.” Gah. May we all remember why we’re doing what we do and know that the benchmarks for success are our own to set. Xin nian kuai le! 🐯
You guys still rock! This video hits home even for a second generation Chinese like me elsewhere in the world, outside of China … and we have a “tiger” in the family too
Awww!!! This made me tear up so much! Oh my goodness! My heart! My sons a tiger 🐯 and everything about this made me think of how kind hearted my little guy is!
This made my eyes teared up..My parents did exactly the same thing for suporting me to get degrees, and also I have received the envelopes from parents, encouraged me to achieve goals that I set. This year because of COVID thing, I could not celebrate Lunar new year with parents. I wish my parents and all yall family good luck, love, and health in this Lunar New Year. xin nian kuai le!
That's complete fiction ! No true Asian dad would be that openly loving and hugging to his daughter ! Kidding, it was a great little short, right in the feels for the Lunar new year ! Happy new Yeah, everyone ! Enjoy the Tiger !
Happy Lunar New Year!🥳🐯I'm not Asian but as a mexican american I totally get the message of our parents wanting what is best for us. Sacrificing so much in the name of love. Beautiful video and message!🎊🎉
The best way to repay your parents is not to stay at home with them, but to go out into the world and live as best you can. I live quite far from my parents, and often feel guilty for that. But every time I talk about this with my mom, she insists that I should stay where I am, because I have a good career and am happy here. It took me a while to believe that she genuinely wanted me to be happy, even if it meant that I would be far away, because my happiness and success is what she has been working for all these years.
Happy Chinese New Year to all Chinese in the world. From ancient times to the present, since the beginning of Chinese Confucian culture, we have been celebrating this festival for thousands of years. Eat more dumplings and have a good New Year.
I really like this short film ...actually all your short films:) Glad you are using more Black Americans in your projects. Good to see Television and Commercials showing more Black and Asian together since before it was more of a taboo for Asians to be with Blacks. My wife is Chinese and I am Black so I know a lot about it;)
It’s not uncommon for black and Asians to be in a relationship it’s just mostly seen in cities but with the internet it’s more apparent. Also their story telling is based around feelings and experiences it won’t feel the same if they write about dating outside their ethnicity if they aren’t knowledgeable on the subject
This short of the father and daughter is so heartwarming! 🤗❤ Perfectly written for the Lunar Year of the Tiger! 🐯 Good job, Taylor and Wong Fu Productions! 😃👍Happy Lunar New Year - Xin Nian Kuai Le - Gung Hay Fat Choy! 🧧
This was sweet. Growing up, I almost never got red envelopes. My mom did not believe in giving money to her own kids and all my relatives lives thousands of miles away. I can't relate to the dad part though, since mine died when I was 12. The ending part I really can relate to though. My wife is black and she often tries to speak Chinese.
As a child of immigrants, all our parents ever wanted is for us to pursue a higher education. To have an opportunity or opportunities that they never had. Happy Lunar New Years everyone.

Not just Asian American, but Asian in general I guess. I'm Singaporean and it hit me too.
I cried like a little baby haha, hit a little too close to home🥲
Most Asian parents have high expectations of their son or daughter. I’m in Canada and I had similar experience. My parents worked many hours a day just to put my siblings and I to university. Education is very important in Asian culture.
We need more parents like the dad here. Loving, caring, inspirational, brave, firm, understanding, and encouraging! Bet he is a tiger too!
Ahhh this hit right in the feels. Happy Lunar New Year!
Happy Lunar New Year, CantoMando! ❤️😄
One of the most realistic things about this film is that 15 years passed and the father didn’t age one bit #asiandontraisin
Hit me in the feels.
Though most Asian parents would probably have a much harder time to encourage their child verbally like that, but we all know they have the best intentions.
Happy Lunar New Year to all
Well you have to remember hehe dad is in the USA lol. So, yes her dad is encouraging her. What an amazing short firm
I'm not Asian but I'm a daughter of immigrant parents so I'm crying just as hard as everyone else. Happy Lunar New Year to y'all!🥳

Woah weird, same here.
I think I just watched an ad all the way thru and I’m not even mad about it! So good!
I’m actually crying that hit the spot of being the daughter of hardworking parents who want the best for u.
Y’all it’s too early for me to be sobbing like this, the way Wong Fu finds ways to pull my heart strings
This is such a heart-touching video. It reminds me of all the asians parents who do whatever it takes to support education of their children. They are the super heroes of our lives. Happy New Year everyone!
SOBBING CAUSE I CAN'T BE THE ONLY ONE THINKING: WONG FU GIVING US ALL THE HEALTHY PARENTS WE NEEDED AS KIDS
Wow, this short film represents all loving and caring Asian families. Really touching!!!!
Ah I didn't expect this to make me wanna tear up 😭

Omg this was incredibly sweet! Need more videos like this. I could use more warm hearted stories right about now.
I'm moved beyond words. I remember way back when in college, Wong Fu was my favorite producer of hiphop dance videos. Almost two decades later, we are all older with more responsibilities. And WongFu is still living up to the name.

it's so deep, because it fit exactly what I and my parents had experienced.

Made me cry and feel so many emotions, thank you wongfu! You guys do so much to increase representation and expand my view of other cultures experiences. Watching this on a lunch break and the nostalgia hitting me almost makes me cry 😭. Great video Wong Fu, Happy Lunar News year to all!
i bawled my eyes out, thank you
Always love the sense of family Wong Fu brings into their work. Missing mine oceans away.
Brings up so many emotions, and here i am sobbing. Happy new year!!
This is touching. I do enjoy this. Hope there would be a story about the Vietnamese culture next year. Chúc mừng năm mới !
This was the first year of my life where I also gave my parents a red envelope instead, so this short was so precious and relatable. Thank you!
Man… what a touching well-produced film. Awesome work guys! 😎🧧
*crying* this was amazing
Love this. I am the daughter of Middle Eastern immigrants and I always find so much I relate to in Wong Fu’s content - I’ve been watching for over 10 years now. Thank you so much Wong Fu and happy Lunar New Year to everyone 🧧✨✨✨
This story really touched my heart, it shows how the parents struggle to make their children in the top.
Eventually, thank you guys ❤️
